Windows 11 Compatibility patch

I played the hell out of this game and its sequel as a kid but haven't really had a good working experience on modern PCs in quite some time. For reference I am running Windows 11 on an Asus G14 with a 1440p display.

I put my Claude subscription to work and was able to get the game working solid and the result is the patch I am linking here (find the .zip under releases): https://github.com/xsixbulletsx/goc_compatability/

You just need to unzip the files in the release to your game install folder. I have only tested with the GOG version.

Feel free to let me know if you have any errors, graphical glitches, etc running it and I'll see about further fixes.

This indie game reminds me of Gangsters: Organized Crime

I'm not the developer of this game.

This game reminded me of Gangsters: Organized Crime. Thought this subreddit might be interested in it. The developers are active when it comes to patches and updates.

It has a free demo you can try on steam.

Blood & Concrete *PART 9*

Blood & Concrete — a solo-dev 2D Topdown/isometric mob strategy game set in a fictional 1990s city.

You run one of eight ethnic crime families. Each week you plan your crew's orders — extortion, hits, bombings, robberies, buying property, opening illegal businesses, diplomacy — then hit go and watch it all play out live on the streets: your soldiers drive out from HQ, work the blocks, and the city reacts. Somewhat similair to Gangsters Organized Crime from the 90's.

What you'll see in the footage:

  • A living isometric city (toggleable top-down and iso views) with pedestrians, traffic, cops and rival crews all moving in real time
  • A full drug economy: growhouses → delivery vans → street dealers → bulk export, with upgrades and reputation
  • Territory control & extortion across distinct ethnic districts (Little Italy, Harlem, Chinatown, Brighton Beach, and more)
  • A reactive police system: patrols with vision cones, squad cars, investigations, arrests, judges and courts (some bribable)
  • Diplomacy between gangs — paid peace pacts, alliances, rivalry and war, plus an honor/reputation system that gangs actually remember
  • Real gang warfare: shootouts, bombings and coalitions that form against whoever's getting too powerful

It's a systems-driven sandbox — the fun is in the emergent chaos when all these systems collide.

I post a dev-update video roughly once a month on my YouTube channel showing the latest progress and new systems in action. If that sounds interesting I'd love feedback — I'm building this solo and reading everything.
