Does anyone out there have a copy of this box set that they’ve ripped via iTunes or anything of the sort, and would be willing to lend the files so I can add this one to the collection?? I believe I’ve got most of these songs between the Blame It All On My Roots box set and The Ultimate Collection, but from my understanding there are a few tracks that are exclusive to this set. I’d love to hear them!!
He actually had an opportunity to sign a recording contract earlier on, but when the record executive told him that he needed to focus more on a more mainstream sound/style, LeDoux resigned himself that he would never make it big as a celebrity musician, because he was content to write and record music pertaining to the life he knew: the rodeo. As we all know, Garth Brooks was always a huge fan of country music and the rodeo, so he was well aware of who Chris was. So when Garth name dropped LeDoux in the 1989 song “Much To Young (To Feel This Damn Old,)” it ignited national interest. Chris was able to sign with a major record label and support his family as a musician. Garth and Chris became close friends; they recorded an infamous duet and toured together. Upon learning that Chris needed liver transplant, Garth immediately checked himself into a hospital to donate a part of his (they were incompatible, but Chris did eventually locate a donor). He was able to continue his life and career for about 4 more years until he unfortunately passed away from cancer at age 56. RIP Chris, and a huge pat on the back to Garth; even though he has always been too humble to take any real credit for it, he absolutely helped Chris and his family live a meaningful and good quality life.
