22F | IST | Grad Student looking to start learning AI and Data Science from scratch (pls read)

Hey! so i’m a grad student getting into AI and data science. i’ve got a background in engineering math and basic coding, so not starting completely blind, but everything ML/DS-specific is new to me.

End goal is computer vision and robotics. that’s the whole reason i’m doing this. I figured it’s a long road (python for ML, stats/linear algebra applications, ML fundamentals, then specializing into CV/robotics) but way better with people going through it alongside me than solo.

Looking for:
People with a similar starting point (some technical/math/coding background, kinda new to AI/DS specifically)

Similar end goals (CV, robotics, or adjacent stuff like embedded systems)

Someone down to casually share resources, compare notes, get unstuck on confusing concepts together

Ideally people who’d want to build small projects together once we’ve got some footing

Open to people a bit further ahead too if you’re down to casually guide/mentor along the way, doesn’t have to be strictly peer-level

And I’m a creative person on the more artistic side of things so I’d like to make projects in those domains\~ thinking UI/UX and graphic design too, stuff adjacent to artistic content. I’ve got certain ideas floating around already, so if anyone’s into blending AI/CV with design-ish, visual, or artistic stuff, that’d be great.

And I’m not one of those grind only for a job kinda person so we’d probably not get along if you’re into just collecting certifications or something, I like learning topics well. So yeah, anyone up?

(Also a fair warning: I don’t consider image generation etc to be art or anything, I mean a completely different thing when I mean integration, Using ai as a tool rather than being lazy)

over the past year i have realized that I don't have a discipline problem. i have a consistency problem. i start strong, disappear for a few days, then start over from zero. i am done repeating that cycle.

current goals:

  • fix my sleep schedule

  • eat right and healthy

i am not expecting perfection from anyone. i just want someone who actually replies, checks in, and doesn't vanish after two days.

26M, looking for anybody who is motivated to learn I,T related stuff together

I'm currently working at a laundry, i do not enjoy it but i guess i try to do motivating things like attempt to learn linux, html, python etc. I am trying to get more involved with learning I,T related stuff, been using computers since a kid. I do get into a bit of music making like Fruity loops, very occasional tho. An interest to learn how to make models on blender, I do have mild ADHD so sometimes i get thrown of learning and keeping to a consistent routine to just STICK to something, i wasted a-lot of time in the past and i just want to meet good peers, and motivating people. Even somebody who is similar to me in a way, thanks.

I'm actually from Oceania (Aus,Nz) timezone, there was no option to choose Oceania, aus and nz don't make good groups like this, guess only overseas they do it.

31M | IST | On a redemption arc

Hi. 31 M here from Chennai. Rebuilding my life in various aspects such as Job switch - Learning SAP MM, Fitness - Reducing body weight from 94kg by including Strength training, proper diet, recovery and cardio and Building simple and executable routines and systems to perform better in life.

This will be my routine.

On Monday, I wanna wake up everyday at 5 AM.

I will do 1 hour of yoga in the morning and 1.5 to 2 hours of workouts as per my workout schedule in the evening.

I will have 3 x 90 mins of deep work blocks with 15 mins break for each session. This is for Job preparation.

I will follow a calorie deficit meal plan, measure and record all my foods and will try to have 110gms of protein per day. Will cut down all cravings, junk and outside foods.

I will not use any sort of screens after 9pm. I will sleep at 10pm.

I will check in only once per day, at 9pm after I complete all the tasks and prepare myself for the next day.

I will follow this plan and check in only between Monday to Saturday. Sunday will be a rest day but not for diet, recovery and sleep schedule.

To list down my goals,

  1. No screens after 9 PM.
  2. Sleep everyday by 10 PM.
  3. wake up everyday at 5 AM.
  4. 1 hour of yoga in the morning.
  5. 1 workout session as per the weight loss plan per day In the evening
  6. 3 x 90 mins of deep work for job preparation.
  7. Follow the calorie deficit meal plan and hit Protein goal. No cravings, junk or outside foods allowed.

Check in time: 9 PM every day from Monday to Saturday.

Hi, I have a lot of habits to fix but one important thing is sleep schedule, I have always slept around 3-5 am from a few years, which itself was wrecking my academics and has be fixed. But these days I am following a completely nocturnal routine. Sleeping between 10-11am and waking up at 8-9pm, which is making me misaligned with the world, my own hormones. My doctor has strictly warned me against any imbalanced sleep schedule.

I recently completed my doctoral degree and my only job now is to find a full-time job. The market is rough right now, getting call-backs alone is tough, and if I do, it’s always uncertain how many rounds of interviews I’ll get through before they axe my candidacy.
