Bluetooth, Globe Haul ST + Specialized mobile app: what am I doing wrong?
I’ve tried with both iPhone and android.. in every possible sequence of turning things on … and no good. I see zero available devices / bikes to connect to.
Electrical issues?
I am in the process of deciding which long tail cargo ebike to buy. My initial inclination was to get Aventon (very affordable, good reviews), but then I tried a globe haul and absolutely loved it. I am close to pulling the trigger, but I have been reading about the continuing electrical issues. On this sub, people have been reporting issues as recently as a month ago, even though specialized supposedly fixed the issues almost 2 years ago.
My question is: if you own a glove LT (or ST) have you had electrical issues causing the bike to shut down? Of course this is not a rigorous survey, but I'm trying to get a sense of how prevalent these issue are.
Thanks in advance!
Sourcing tires?
Hey all. I've got the tan sidewall carless whispers and they're showing signs that they need to be replaced. I placed an order at my local specialized dealer last month and they have not gotten them in nor can they offer any indication of when they might.
Does anyone either have any suggestions about where I should get a pair of the carless whispers, or any suggestions about the best alternative?
Thanks!
Trailer/hitch recommendations
I’ve got a LT and am looking for some suggestions for a heavy duty cargo trailer and how to attach a trailer to the bike.
Anything you like that works well? Do mounting plates on the wheel axle work?
I’d love to figure out how to use the surly bill trailer https://surlybikes.com/products/bill-trailer
I have no idea how I would attach the hitch. The rear holes for the running boards are intriguing.
Cargo rail alternative or secondary market?
Hi,
I had my Rad Wagon 4 was stolen last month so now I am in the market for a replacement. I'm not going back to Rad so after test riding/researching a bunch of alternatives including Specialized, Aventon, Velotric, and Lectric (to name a few), the Specialized Globe Haul LR is the clear winner.
I am curious if there is a cargo rail alternative for this model? I have a 6 year old and 10 year and feel like my 6 year old might outgrow the rail protection soon potentially making it not worth the additional $320 for it.
Slightly unrelated, are there single deckpad seats (longer) for this one instead of 3 individual Globe Passenger Seats?
Thanks in advance!
Custom 4" Seat Riser
The standard seat is pretty low for an adult. Also, I wanted MIK convenience (I typically use a MIK -mounted basket so wanted to swap quickly for passengers). I ended up designing and printing a 4" riser block that mounts to a MIK plate. Hopefully the threaded heat stake inserts will hold (I think so).
Also added folding footpages (designed for 8mm bolts but drilled and tapped to accept M10 which is the size the peg hole is designed for). I think the riser + pegs will make for a more comfortable ride.
Next up - a better cafe lock. Dealing with a folding lock for a 1 minute trip into a convenience store is a PITA.

2700 miles since December 26’.
- chain is still good
- tires are still good
- brake pads and rotors are still good.
My biggest issue is slipping seatpost and now sagging kickstand. I have to wait for September for them to be available. I wish I could use it more for errands but I know someone would just walk away with it if left outside long enough. Other than that it’s been great. I drive a Prius and only use it on the weekends now. Added my M-F to and fro commute with the kiddo.
