[Glycine GL0521] Glycine Combat Sub 41mm on Watches of Espionage Five Eye NATO strap

Picked up a Watches of Espionage Five Eye NATO strap that I thought would work well with the GL0521 color scheme and WOW. I still love the original steel bracelet for what it is, but this strap is definitely a keeper. To top it off, I woke up this morning and saw Teddy Baldassarre’s post about the new Omega Seamaster 007 James Bond watch and couldn’t help but notice the visual similarities to my humble Glycine 🔫

I found this locally picked it up. Thoughts?

I found this for sale locally. Supposedly NOS. Is anyone have experience with these? Able to use a daily wearer? keep it in mint condition? Thoughts…

[Glycine Airman]

The Glycine Airman. An out of this world watch.

In 1965, astronaut Pete Conrad brought his personal Airman aboard Gemini 5, making it one of the very first automatic watches worn in space, and the first true 24‑hour dial to orbit the planet.

This watch was really fun to photograph. I think it looks great up against the deep black background. Feels like a little glimpse into how Pete might have seen it up there.

New bracelet

Put a new bracelet on the 39. Full brushed beads of rice I am digging it but would like to know what people think of it versus the jubilee (bracelets side by side in picture 2). Yes I’m over thinking.

Faux patina stainless - what has been your long term experience?

For those who have regularly worn their glycine with the faux patina stainless case and bezel, what has been your experience with long term wear?

As the watch endures daily wear, how do scratches show? Does it look odd or bad? Does it work out well and actually get better looking?

Thoughts?

GL0074 Thoughts about changing the bracelet

I’m working on a strap/bracelet project for my Glycine Airman GL0074 (white dial), and I’d really appreciate opinions.

The watch already comes on a genuinely beautiful mesh bracelet (Pics 1, 2), very well made and visually coherent with the case, but I’d also like to explore a different personality for it.

I recently started considering the WatchGecko Premium Beads of Rice bracelet.

https://www.watchgecko.com/products/premium-stainless-steel-beads-of-rice-watch-bracelet-super-luminova

Part of the reason for choosing the WatchGecko is the hope of getting noticeably better machining and finishing quality compared to the many cheaper BOR bracelets available online.

I made a quick visual mock-up AI (not perfect): Pics 3, 4.

I would appreciate opinions 😊

Thank You

Glycine Airman The Chief GMT

Picked up this over the weekend. So far I'm super happy, no pictures do the green dial justice.

Bronzo G0167

Good morning everyone,

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend filled with health and peace.

I’m sharing some photos of my Glycine Airman G0167 Bronze with natural patina. There’s something special about bronze watches — the more you wear them, the more character they develop. And once you own a bronze piece, it’s hard not to fall in love with it.

This is a natural, organic page and post — just sharing my watch and enjoying the hobby with you all.

Best regards to everyone.

My GL0074

I ask for permission from the members to make my first post in this sub. This is my first Glycine, the GL0074.

I bought it completely factory sealed, brand new, with all its original plastics, from a former employee and collector—essentially straight from the store. Manufactured in 2017, it’s almost like a small time capsule.

I’ve always found the Airman models beautiful.

I’m still trying to build a relationship with the 22x22 mesh bracelet. The build quality is superb; it has a strong presence and a lot of shine, though at times I find it a bit too wide and somewhat flashy.

I know most people prefer the blue dial, but this off-white pearlescent one has its own charm. It was an incredible find, especially since this model has been discontinued—I’m not sure for how long.

I sent the details to Glycine, and they confirmed it was manufactured in 2017. However, I still don’t know what’s inside—ETA or Sellita.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Cheers to everyone.

New to the Glycine family

Glad to have found this Glycine community on here. This was my first Glycine and I absolutely love it for work and every day kind of wear. Through rain or shine it runs strong. It has the older logo and I believe it’s a discontinued model. It’s a Glycine Airman 44mm auto GL293. I just purchased a combat sub 42mm auto GL0326 and can’t wait for it to come in.

Good mail day! Combat sub 39 and 36!

These are so slept on and I am okay with that. They feel and wear amazing. I feel lucky the colors I wanted in the exact sizes popped up at the same time! Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Glycine Automatic Issue

I have a Glycine Combat GL0107 automatic. The send winding rotor on the back doesn’t freely rotate like all of my other autos. If I give the watch a good shake, it starts ticking & I can hear the rotor moving, but it almost sounds like it might be rubbing against something. On any of my other autos, I can slowly rotate the watch in my hand and see the rotor moving - on this one, it doesn’t do that & doesn’t move without some vigorous shaking.

Does this indicate a problem of some sort, or is it normal behavior for a Glycine?

Thanks.
