Almost there

Almost there

Finally got the strapcode bracelet for my GL0522, just need to get it sized. I have a set of small screwdrivers at home, but I worry about scratching the links if I try to do it myself. Otherwise, this is what it looks like on a bracelet! Looks complete finally!

Strapcode finally shipped!

I’ve had my GL0522 for a little over a month now and have been awaiting my chosen aftermarket bracelet for nearly as long. I chose this model combat sub in part because I’d seen mixed reviews on the glycine bracelet and this one was cheaper with the NATO style strap. Originally considered an island brand universal oyster style but changed my mind to the strapcode angus J. Ordered in late July and was awaiting shipment, which finally occurred today. The last pic is one of someone else on here that has the combo that inspired me. Anyone else here have a combat on a jubilee? Let’s see em!

First ding 💔😒

I know I shouldn’t be completely sad about it and I know it could’ve been way worse and I know these things are gonna happen…but this is the first one. I banged it against the cabinet handle and if you look at the 40 on the bezel you can see where some of the gilt paint got scratched off. Luckily the bezel itself of ceramic so no worries there. Give me your best advice/admonishment for being upset

Vintage style divers on a jubilee

Considering getting a jubilee style bracelet for my combat sub, any of you guys rocking that combo? And if so, show me some pics so I can figure out if it’ll work

Box ceramic combat sub 41 question

Hello all, I received my GL0522 on Friday and have been in love with it from the moment I opened the package. It’s my first Swiss watch and I feel like the value for the price I paid at Ashford is second to none. I do have a question though and I hope I’m just being paranoid. I can hear the watch whir slightly when I move my wrist quickly or excessively. I immediately googled whether this was normal or not and it seems that another post here on Reddit said the movement which is GL224 based on the sellita SW200-1 can be heard with certain types of movement. But I also saw that someone else said that might be a sign of a loose rotor. Basically I’m asking do y’all hear your rotor move? Should I be worried? Thanks in advance!

Strap options for Glycine combat sub 42

What are we thinking about the waffle strap vs the original nylon strap for this combat sub 41? Also considering a MFN black with red stripe. Awaiting a universal Long Island oyster style, just running through options on hand in the meantime

Help finding bracelet for 41mm combat sub ceramic

Looking at purchasing the combat sub 41mm, which has a 20mm lug to lug. The watch comes on a NATO style strap but I’m wondering if there are any bracelets that will fit it? Glycine’s website doesn’t offer a 20mm option, just a 22mm for the larger 42mm combat sub. It looks like the area between the lugs is flat, but I don’t have any hands on experience with the watch. Part of what I want in a dive watch is the bracelet, but this one fits my budget and I feel like is as large as I’m willing to go, plus I like the dial layout with the date at 6 o’clock. Any experience/help would be appreciated

Best place to find a deal on combat sub 39

Recently sold my last diver while thinning out my collection and I’d like to replace it with a combat sub 39. I found ashford, and of course glycine’s site. Any other places I should look?

Addiesdive 2088

So you could call this a Hamilton khaki field mechanical homage but technically it’s the ggw-113 design which isn’t exclusively Hamilton’s. I feel like if you’re into that watch, this might be a budget friendly alternative unless you’re wanting the Hamilton for the historical significance. This one has a screw down crown and sapphire glass. I’m still saving for the KFM in bronze but this see scratches the itch for that iconic look. I also feel like this one is better than the Militado ML07 because that’s VH31 while this is automatic. Very happy with my newest addition, just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is considering getting one.

Tell me you’re pretentious without telling me you’re pretentious…

Or am I the asshole

Which ML05?

I’m kinda torn on which of these two I should get, they’re both homages to the khaki field mechanical, bronze and PVD coated cases, respectively. Does anyone have either of these? Obviously the only difference is the case since it’s the same model

Khaki field quartz (not pictured)

I haven’t seen anyone on here with the khaki field quartz. Any of you guys have one, and if so how do you like it? I have an homage because I love the look of it but I’m not a quartz fan and am currently saving for the khaki field king

Mechanical watch question regarding MK1

Ok so I’ve had this watch for a week, it’s my first mechanical. The first few days I was resetting the time whenever I’d wind it but then I started letting it go to see how off it would be. It seems to be losing about ten seconds a day since I started letting it go without resetting. Is this acceptable for a mechanical? What can I do myself to adjust this? Or should I just take it to be serviced? I don’t take it off at night, I’ve read some people say let it rest in certain positions to help with timekeeping adjustment but I love it too much to take it off. Any advice here would be awesome. It’s certainly not making me love it less, if nothing else I’ll just acknowledge the issue and reset it as needed

New MK1 mechanical

After discovering this a few weeks ago and an agonizing wait, I’m finally wearing it and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve joined the Timex club again. Had an MK1 chrono in the past but sold it. Also got my son an expedition for his birthday a couple months back. I honestly wouldn’t trade this for a Rolex if someone offered. I’ve gotten obsessed with field watches and this beauty is perfect IMO
