AD800 HSS Question

Just got the AD800 and I was messing around with HSS. While the strobe itself is capable of going down to 1/512. The high speed sync on the strobe reads 1/256 while on the X3 trigger reads 1/512. Is the strobe capable of doing 1/512 HSS if so how do I get it there?

does anyone have any insight?

Alternatives to AR400 lighting

Heya, I am getting to photogrammetry. I have a decent understanding of photography. I do have the right equipment. I seen that a polarised sheet might be needed for cross polarisation.

In terms of lighting, I really wanted to get the godox AR400 but seems impossible to find and perhaps too expensive?

Are there any alternatives to the AR400, would a normal flash and an adaptor work. I am also into 3d printing and could potentially work on an adaptor.

What are you thoughts on any possible not crazy expensive alternatives?

Thank you

New Leica IT30 flash issue M11-p

So I just got the new Leica IT30 TTL for Leica. Fits nice and snug on my M6 film body. But is totally loose and wiggles on my M11-P. I mainly got this for my M11-P. Anyone else have this issue? I’m so bummed as this flash is totally unable with how bad it wiggles. It would be stupid if this flash we have all been waiting for only works on the film Leica’s. Huge oversight.

TT600 - How do I make it faster than 1/128?

I need a super high flash speed for my TT600 for macro photography. My shutter speed will be around 1/1000 and I need my flash to be 1/4000. I tried HSS but nothing happened? I've read the manual front to back and I'm so lost. Canon R10

Godox v860ii/iii flash problems with sony a7iii/iv etc..

The connection between the Godox flash and Sony cameras is very fragile and unreliable. After some time the connection loosen up, and the flash wont fire. The only solution I have found so far is to remount the flash on the camera every once in a while. For someone who is doing run and gun styled shooting, its very annoying and always at risk of missing important shots. Is there a permanent solution to this problem, without switching brand? Is there a modification I can do to the flash to make the connection more secure without causing any damages to the camera?

What beginner flash

I’m a beginner photographer and I’m debating between the v480 and the v860iii. I have an a6400 and worried the v860 might be too bulky for the body.
I do event and portrait photography!
I know many would say v860 but I figured in the future I could just use the v480 alongside the v1 if I need another flash?
Also considering getting the iT32 and x2 instead of the other options I’ve listed as some say might be good just to start?!
I’m struggling so hard with this decision. Help…please!

What flash to buy as a beginner???

Ive had the Sony a6400 for a while and ive 100% outgrown the inbody flash. Im looking for a flash that is cheap but works well. Doesn’t have to be ttl as I want to learn how to use an external flash.
I do portrait photography indoors and out also events!!
Edit: I’ve changed my budget to under £200. I’ll just have to save more

Godox V1proC vs Neewer Z2ProC

When I used to be a sony shooter, all my flashes were Godox, I have the AD400, AD200, V1, V1Pro, V860iii, and v480.
So when I switched to Canon mirrorless I started slowly by buying one Godox V1proC.
I need a second one, but the price seemed to have gone up since I last bought one, so I ended up getting a Neewer Z2ProC instead. It has similar power and it has a compatibility mode that lets me control it from a Godox trigger.
What I didn't anticipate is that I have found that the Godox V1proC when using on-camera (Canon R6ii) the TTL really isn't very reliable. Its often overexposed badly.
I then discovered that in the same conditions, same R6ii camera that the Neewer was actually doing great with TTL and exposing much better.
So I was wondering if anyone else noticed that the Neewer Z2proC seems to be a lot better for TTL on Canon mirorrless than the Godox ?
I also wonder why that is...?

Godox X3c VS canon R6mkii

Im going absolutely crazy trying to trouble shoot this!

Godox trigger is brand new, godox V1 pro C is maybe a year old or 2.

It used to work perfectly and it just stopped. Once in a while i can get it to trigger like 5 photos than it stops.

Ive tried pushing the trigger in out out of the hot shoe.

Ive tried to match different channels/ids. Im in mechanical mode. If i press the flash button on the trigger it does NOT trigger the flash.

Flash works on my camera so its not a hot shoe/flash issue

Its made the trigger completely useless and a waste of money.

I just don’t understand why sometimes itll work for a handful of photo and randomly stops without me turning anything off

r/Godox Announcement: A collaboration!

Earlier this week I hinted at some upcoming sub news, and I’m glad to finally share it with you.

This sub’s strength is its its diverse membership, boasting Godox users from all over the world with all kinds of experiences to share. Occasionally we’ve benefited from individuals with a closer connection to the brand than us regular folk, and I’d like to recognise one such person.

Celine has been an active contributor to r/Godox discussions for a few years now as u/Yoguratcat, but actually represents Letwell, an authorized Godox distributor. Letwell operates Amazon stores across international marketplaces including the United States, Europe, and Australia. I was introduced to Celine through another r/Godox member while discussing ways the sub could be improved.

Today we’re introducing a community collaboration between r/Godox and Letwell that should aid product discussion, bolster the sharing of technical information, and open a new channel for user feedback.

Celine will continue to participate here as she has done previously, offering help and advice when able to, but now with the support and recognition of the sub. I think this will be especially valuable when new products are released, something Godox has been doing a lot recently.  And Celine has kindly offered to let us try something new: Letwell-supported hands-on community product testing from time to time. For transparency, when these occur they’ll clearly be labeled as sponsored by Letwell.

Please note that although they’re an authorised distributor, Letwell is not acting as an official customer service representative for all Godox products globally. Celine may occasionally point users toward useful information or feedback channels where appropriate, but you’ll continue to rely on the retailer or distributor you purchase your Godox gear from for things like order-specific support and warranty claims.

I’m excited for this collaboration, and hope you’ll find Celine’s presence here valuable.

Godox iT32 compatibility with Lumix Fullframe?

Heyo! I was looking for a small flash for an upcoming event, because for some reason I still don't have one.

I new that godox made awesome flashes and I wanted something that is rather compact and has an internal battery.
Now I saw some recommendations for the newer iT32 and I really like the look of it, especially because of the wireless functions.

But when i was skimming through the models, the wireless transmitter is only available for MFT. Even in the manual it doesn't list Lumix fullframes. Which is rather sad, because I love my Lumix S5 and S5ii and would love to pair them.

My question is, does it really not work at all? And if so, why?

TT685 II C firmware upgrade

I just bought a TT685 II C and it has firmware version 1.2

I see that there is a version 3.4 for it.

I installed the G3 V2 updater. The G1 updater won't install on my Windows 11 computer.

I removed the batteries from the flash.

When I plug in the flash, the updater says Device connected.

When I click Web File, I don't see this model.

When I click Local File, it's looking for a .bin file, but the Godox website only has a .fri file.

The flash does not show anything on the LCD.

How do I update the firmware?

I do see that this was posted two or three years ago, I'm hoping that things have improved.

I've watched some YouTube videos, they're older and it seems like the updater works on older models but not newer ones.

AD100pro II or V1 Mid for rim light?

To preface -- I'm aware that the AD100pro ii and the V1mid are pretty different flashes in terms of power & usage, but I want to use the AK-R1 accessory kit so I need a flash with the round head and the V1/V1pro/V100 are kinda out of budget right now. I'm doing this purely for hobby purposes only

As of now, I currently own an IT32 that I plan to use as a face/fill light and a trigger. I'm currently planning to get another flash that can work as a strong rim light in addition to my IT32, as well as act as a stronger face/fill light if needed. Currently I plan to use it 80% of the time as a rim light and 20% as a face light. For rim light I want to use the flash in conjunction with a pro mist filter to get a glowy strip of light on the edge of the face/hair (if that makes sense haha). I typically shoot indoors on location (no studio), and outdoors in shade/more overcast conditions, so I'm not fighting against direct sunlight. I plan to use the rim light mainly for headshots/half body shots, so I don't think (?) the flash needs to be placed that far away.

V1mid - Lower power, but can be a direct replacement to my IT32 for fill light, as well as to bounce off ceilings. Also around USD80 cheaper.

AD100pro ii - Higher power, but from what I've seen if I want to use it as a main face light I need to hold it in one hand which seems a bit cumbersome to me, but I may be wrong.

As an additional note, I'm not considering the mark 1 version of the AD100pro because its currently being sold for the same price as the mark 2.

Any help would be really useful as I'm still pretty new to using flash, much thanks!

I am facing this issue where my flash turns off after dial and if I keep it powered it works.

Also , if I don't use the dial unlock, it just turns off immediately.

I overuse my godox sk400ii and a black liquid starts to drip ou is it still okay to use?

I ran a self photo studio and I my strobe light godox sk 400ii is running for 8hours (al though it is not for straight 8 hours and it wasn't fire rapidly). One time while shooting it smokes and a dark sticky liquid starts to drip out from the vents. Then today I turn it on and it seems fine the lamp is working and it is firing. It is still okay to use or should I throw it away and buy a new one?
