Android trackers not updating location after a battery change?

(sry wrong title, rewrote the post)

I recently changed the batteries on a few of my Android trackers and I ran into a frustrating issue: the trackers would beep with the reset button and report their location exactly once right after putting the new battery in, but then they would completely stop updating and go radio silent.

Should I Perform a Hard Factory Reset and re-pair ?

Hi, could you recommend the best rechargeable wallet (card size) tracker available in EU (available on Amazon.de if possible )? Rolling square, Chipolo or any other? Thank you

if not, wtf. If so, it's incredibly hard to find anything about it online.

Moto tag 2 is on Motorola us

Discounted price of 19.99 for a single or 69.99 for a 4pack (which is what they should be all the time imo considering how cheap trackers have gotten)

Clip 5 Dog Tag Hack

I could not find a way to mount the Clip 5 to my dogs collar. And I could not find a holder on the internet. I have a 15 lb dog and the Clip 5 is too big and floppy to hang on the dog collar.

I found some heat shrink tubing and cut a piece. I slid the clip 5 and the collar through the sleeve. I used electrical tape to mask off the USB port and the clip point.

Important Note: Because the clip 5 is round, it will try to slip out of the tube as the heat shrinks down around it. Have some metal pliers or some metal clips ready to hold the clip 5 in place while the tube cools down. If you have never worked with heat shrink tubing or a heat gun ask for help with this task. Pick a spot on the collar that's near the heaviest point. Usually where the dog tag hangs.

It turned out great and sits flat and secure against the dog collar. The device works perfectly and you can clearly hear the beep tones and the button works too.
