Picture both taken and framed during the party? 😂

On my umpteenth rewatch and just noticed this small mistake - Lilly had her picture taken, done and framed while at the party? 😂 same hairstyle, outfit and earrings lol

Chuck showing up at the Humphrey's loft after he found out about the "life-changing" kiss was so ominous. It was the first time in the series that I genuinely feared for someone's life 😂

For Dan’s life, that is! LOL

Chuck clocked it almost immediately, and Dan just kept digging himself deeper with every sentence. I was like “dude stop talking rn”

And you already know it is serious when Chuck went to Brooklyn himself instead of sending someone.

Season 2 episode 13 my all time favourite episode😭

I just finished the disaster that was season 5 w the ridiculous royal storyline to everyone dating each other and all the ivy stuff.

So i have decided to rewatch s2. And i am up to one of my fave episodes of all time s2e13! Barts funeral lol. The montage bit towards the end of signs (bloc party). It was just one of the peaks of this show done so well. Its sad i cant even get through s6 like bart is literally an animated supervillain. His death (the first one) was one of the best plots imo. And bringing him back was just a terrible idea.

But unpopular opinion bringing bart back was not as bad as the whole monaco/prince louis storyline😭. It didnt feel like gossip girl.

Gossip girl question!

As Someone who is not from NYC and never been there! Do newyorkers even millionaires like serena, blair, nate usually takes cabs so much to everywhere? Like its so odd to me they don’t have their own luxurious cars! Only chuck is often seen in his own limo. Like even after being so rich no one else is seen driving or getting chauffeured around usually! Someone please clear this for me!!!!

Nate Archibald, Let's talk about how gorgeous Chace is, please girls!

I admit that his role in the series sometimes bored me and even made me feel sorry for him. But I admit he's gorgeous, and if I'd been a Gossip Girl, I definitely would have accepted a date with him. LOL

On my 9th rewatch and the Blair/dan situation still grosses me out

I thought by my 9th rewatch this storyline would become less gross but nope it still makes no sense and is terrible. I will never understand why the writers would do this. There is no chemistry and no reason for this to be a thing. And the fact that Serena ends up marrying Dan makes it even worse with him having been in love with her bestfriend. At least with Chuck that was never the case. Who in their right mind would ever think this is romantic? Very short sighted.

Edit: I edited my post bc it seems to be offending people.

Do you really think they were connected? Texto: I think Dan did like Blair. I don’t know if he was in love with her, but he definitely cared for her and enjoyed being with her. What I think is that Blair felt alone, vulnerable, and confused.

Lol chuck saying goodbye to his friends and Dan. Cracks me up how he has to make it clear they’re not friends.

The Ivy Con was so needlessly complicated

I get that Carol wanted to use a con artist to get her daughter's trust fund without Lola knowing about it but why On Earth did they make it that convoluted?

I know this show is all about the drama lol but as a plan it's so out there. Why not just claim Carol had a change of heart once she found out about Lily's sickness/after reconnecting with her and Cece, and that this is why she now wants 'Charlie' to meet the rest of her family. Charlie plays nice with Serena and the rest of them for a few weeks, her trustfund gets unlocked, and bob's your uncle.

After which they could simply claim Charlie's summer break is up and she has to leave to go to College or do an internship or bc she has a boyfriend back at home or literally anyyyyyy other excuse.

Like there was nooo need for the whole 'I came here to meet you behind my mum's back and she's sooo mad at me but I'm staying anyway and also I start taking an interest in Dan (which would only needlessly antagonise Serena?) and also claim to have some sort of mental illness that I guess results in chronic backstabbing disorder whenever I don't take my meds'

I can only imagine that the in-universe justification is Carol wanting it to seem like this was definitely all 'Charlie' and she had nothing to do with it and maybe the instability/mental illness was to justify her leaving the upper east side but especially the latter was just totally unnecessary. If anything I feel like that could have jeopardised the plan bc maybe Cece would be more reluctant to sign over full control over that much money to someone who seemed unstable.

And lastly, does the show actually make it clear why Carol needs this trustfund? By her own admission she already gets a check from Cece every month. Was that just..not enough for her or something? For all her flaws Cece seemed pretty generous so I feel like if Carol needed more money she could have pretty easily gotten it by just asking for it.

And over the course of this scam Lily and co also find out she's been taking money from Cece anyway so it's not even like she Carol gets to keep the moral high ground or her pride or something.

When I Stopped Tolerating Vanessa

Vanessa teaming up with Juliet was the last straw for me when it comes to tolerating her character. She is such a hypocrite.

You guys were right. Dan gets so much worse. Season 2 Episode 4. What the hell is wrong with this guy? He's really becoming the complete opposite of the Dan we see in the first episodes.

Remember when Dan made Serena feel good and positive and made her genuinely want to be a better person?

That Dan, in my opinion, is gone.

This Dan is a manipulative weirdo who's a complete narcissist and he's so full of himself that I genuinely can't stand him anymore.

Our queen Georgina Sparks. What an iconic woman! She and Blair were the queens of the game.

Who would you choose?

I'd choose Chuck. I know his love was toxic, but it was real. Don't judge me. LOL.

"Welcome to the next 30 years"

This is my 7th or the 8th run, whatever, but I never quite understood - was Maureen trying to sabotage Vanessa here!?

First time watcher! love Serena’s character

I’m currently early S2 and have really been enjoying the show. I’ve never watched a drama series but I adore it so far, I love seeing all the chaos.

I genuinely really like Serena at this point. Sure she has done some questionable things but I see her as a genuine person who takes action when she does something bad and wants to be a better person.

Currently: hate that Dan immediately went with Georgina after sorta breaking up with Serena, but I also get it because from his pov he just got told he was cheated on, so it’s whatever. I would’ve still liked to have seen him reject her.

Hate Chuck, he’s a creep and constantly makes Serena uncomfortable with weird comments, plays with Blair’s emotions after admitting he loved her, so like why?? Idk I hope he gets better because I haven’t liked him at all. He feels so pretentious.

Love that Eric came out! I wasn’t expecting that!

So yeah, I love discussing, but avoid giving me spoilers about what happens and who ends up with who. Thanks!
