Ancient Greek milestone query , in Kavala Prefecture.

Except of the known sites like Olympia , Acropolis and Sunio Greece is hotel to hundreds if not thousands of archeological sites.

This is an ancient milestone query in Kavala Prefecture in Northern Greece.

Area's conglomerate stone is tough so it was preferred back then in the process of milestone making.

Walking here one can see with his bare eyes milestones that were a little cracked in the process so they left them there , two of them still in good condition and other signs of ancient human activity.

Although it's in Google maps , here there not even a sign saying what it was back then.

Corfu, May 2026

I went to Corfu for 6 days and made this pictures I posted above. Most of them are with a little make up added but the beauty of the island is very real. I have been staying in Guovia but I travele by car so I had full mobility around the island. The schedule included visiting 2-3 places (cities, villages, historical landmarks, museums, etc.) in the morning. The weather allowed several hours of beach time a day so I used the opportunity to swim and sunbathe every afternoon. I trusted the internet for restaurant and taverna recommendations and I haven’t been disappointed. The local dishes are a must. The island has a lot to offer so I would definitely recommend a visit.
