Found this in a miscellaneous box of cards for sale. Cant find much on it other than it’s a promo. Love something about the gold boarder.

Been living in Japan for three months. Wife popped into a card shop in Yokohama and got this for me.

She knows nothing about cards other than I only collect Griffey Jr. This was the only one that they had. She paid 22,000 yen (~$136 usd).

Looks like a great deal. Which led me to research prices here versus home (I’m Canadian). Across the board, anything that isn’t Ohtani (screw that guy: sincerely, a Jays fan), is wildly underpriced versus sales comps.

Supposedly the market for MLB here simply isn’t as strong.

Anyway, mostly sharing a cool Griffey I got. But, also, if you’re ever visiting Japan, pop into a card shop or two. Seems like there’s a good arbitrage opportunity for semi-premium cards.
