My first grow!

Super proud of these B+’s inoculated 5/29. This has been such a fun experience and lesson in patience.
I used an AOI grow bag but when it started side pinning I rotated the cake and used a bag ontop to create a humid environment. Now I’ve removed the cap as my humidifier has arrived and set up a microclimate in my SAB. Overall I’m super proud of this grow and now I just need to figure out when to harvest.
I definitely feel like I failed upwards on this project but I’m still so happy and proud of it. Any advice for when to harvest so far they still aren’t “marshmallow” soft but the big ones veil is starting to break.

First harvest ever, from a contaminated cake I buried in the woods

I buried this cake in the woods cause it was contaminated, I guess these storms we’ve had in the northeast helped get it going… I came home from vacation and found a few, with some more pins coming up.

It’s crazy because this is my first attempt, and my first harvest.

First grow!

Hello everyone, I posted in this sub a few weeks ago about a small rip in my grow bag! Just wanted to update everyone on my progress!! I started fruiting conditions on the 1st! Ive been introducing FAE 2x -3x a day through a small slit in the top of the bag. Ive not needed to mist it at all yet. Any advice on how to maximize my next flush would be greatly appreciated.

First time grower. Got some babies popping up! How’s it looking?

Btw in case anybody has made the same mistake as me and is worried. I accidentally misted this with ISO when I switched to FC. Wasn’t much before I realized but I did notice it bruised some of the mycelium. Appears to have bounced back although idk if it would’ve done better if I hadn’t misted with iso on accident. Thanks in advance. This community has helped a ton and I’m sure I’ll be back with more questions before it’s over lol.

First flush came out perfect a week ago. Dunked this cake for 12 hours and went right back into the tub, now it seems to be growing trich? Is this done for before the second flush even starts?

When do I start the fruiting stage?

EDIT - Corks have been replaced with filters. 7/5
Thank you all!!

Sent to bulk on 6/28. Light casing layer. Before anyone comes at me lol - the lid was open for approx 30 seconds. I kept track. I have not opened since S2B. 🫠🫶🏻

Is there a general rule on how many days before breaking up an AIO bag?

Pic is from day 6.
I have a bag that’s 8 days old. I’m knew and finding out how impatient I am. Just wondering what typical average time is for. A bag inoculated with liquid culture? I see a lot of bags that are super white around the port but I went in as deep as possible and moved the needle around when injecting so my actual port only has a little mycelium showing but I think I have a lot unseen inside. I could always be wrong though.

When do you break and shake? 20-30-50% doesn’t help, I failed math too many times….

Aborts from a 120g (dry) first flush. Was generally just gonna throw them away, just wondering what everyone else does with them ?

First flush ever!!!

Today, after SO LONG of pouring my heart and soul into learning this craft, I harvested my first flush. And what a beauty it was too! I feel beyond ecstatic and I’m extremely thankful to my mushrooms. 677g total! I actually started with AIO grow bags and after full inoculation, I moved them to my monotub and let them go crazy!

A beginner's silly question

I've been using a specific type of mushroom for at least three years now, and it has done wonders for my well-being. For the past three years, my friend and I used to harvest them out in the wild on his farm, right from cow manure. However, we had no luck with our harvest this year. Could anyone walk me through how the cultivation process works? I'd highly appreciate any help!

NewBee What am I Doing Wrong??

This is my first MonoTub grow (FCPE) the first flush only produced about 200G, and the second only 8 fruits and 161G. I soaked the cake for about 2-3 hrs after the first flush. The biggest fruit of this second flush had fallen over, most the vales were broken, and had just started to drop spores when I harvested the first. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for looking!

U think I’d be good to harvest one?

Im newbie at this was just curious if it would be okay if I harvested one with a scalpel (maybe one of those pins?) for tonight. Could it potentially ruin my flush?
