I've heard that other fighting games have done this too but I've never really seen any (the only fighting game I've played other than GGST is MK10-11)
Also I really like "Darwin Bridget" and "Shadow the Hedgehog Ramlethal"
The first game I played was XrdRev2 in 2019 after my friends convinced me then in 2024 I bought strive when slayer dropped but I would love to hear your story
They can actually include charge inputs in a new character. Idfk
Is this just the typical style of this era of gaming? Does the mechanics get easier in futures games?
It’s just there’s no tutorial & whenever I try to perform Dragon Install it’s never at will. I did it Inc by accident even though it pressed down, diagonal back, back + slash twice
What do you think about having a guest characters in strive before we have most returners back. I was originally hoping for the last two characters to be Zappa and raven but it looks like that won’t happen.
I don’t really like how this game is getting more similar to mk1. Obviously it’s not as bad as mk1 but back to back guest characters not even a season a part is just weird to me.
We could’ve gotten:
Answer
Raven
Kum Haehyun
Zappa
Order Sol
Kliff
Justice
Izuna
Dr.Paradigm
Valentine
Leopaldan
Fucking Fanny
Vernon
Ariels
Gabriel
Chronus(It would be cool to have the four main people of conclave be playable)
Baldias
Libraria
Axus
Daryl
Even April would’ve been interesting to see
Oh and goku
Yo what's up everyone.
I've had GGST in my library for around a year now and I'd like to start playing it. I was waiting for the 2.0 update to hit and it's been a few months since then. I'm trying to decide on a character to main and I've narrowed it down to these 6 characters. No real reason other than I think their designs are cool.
I know that the easiest thing to do would be to just play them, but I was also wanting some opinions from experienced players in the community. I haven't purchased any DLC yet and I don't believe you can play unpurchased DLC in training, which is another reason I'm asking. My main questions about the characters are:
What are their playstyles like? Rushdown, zoner, grappler, footsies etc.
How hard are they to pilot? I'm fairly new to 2d fighters in general, so I'd ideally like avoid really complex characters from the get go. I'm more than up for a challenge, but I think it's better if I don't start with an insanely difficult character.
What are their strengths and weaknesses? Do any of them have glaring weaknesses against certain playstyles, or obvious strengths that make them top tier?
Anything else in general that I should know about each character, in terms of how they play?
Like I said before, this will be the first 2d fighter that I really commit to. I've played a few in the past but it's mostly just been in training mode and a few online matches. As for characters in other games I've played and had fun in training mode with:
Granblue - Vira and Ilsa
Blazblue - Noel and Hibiki
Undernight 2 - Kaguya
Tekken 8 - Jun
Smash Ultimate (I know it's not a traditional fighting game but thought I'd include it) - Cloud
If you think that I might enjoy another character's playstyle, please feel free to let me know. All help is really appreciated, thanks.
Starting With 34th Place, Votes Will Take Place Every Day Until We A Winner.
Can be for whatever reason, be it dominating neutral or zoning to keep him out, superior offense that keeps him on the backfoot, or strong defensive tools to handle his mix and beat him out, just curious if any Slayer mains have opinions on matchups they find the most difficult, or anyone in general has observations about which characters he struggles into the most, at whatever skill levels.
Appreciate it, thanks!
