Smashed screen stadium

Long story short my helix screen got smashed but the presets I made still worked and it was usable as I remembered what all my presets where by heart. before my last gig it somehow reset itself and went back to the default presets that came with the board which means I’ve lost my presets. Is there any alternate way of navigating the helix or even at least getting back to my user presets with the helix being like this? Or does anybody have any alternate solutions anything helps 🙏🏾. I’m unfortunately not connected to WiFi in this house on the helix

Peavey Century advice

I’ve never owned a Peavey and I’ve found this listed near me. Is it good for gigging psych/alt rock , is it a good pedal platform and is it similar to the Musician/Standard 400 series?

Multi effects or amps

So, I wanna record some of my own music but also play on gigs like twice a month.. so which would be better in general..

I'm kinda on a budget of 400 bucks so, I heard that the boss katana gen 3 50 is a good option, but I really didn't do research on multi effects..

So i wanted to get your opinion!

I built a free desktop editor + preset backup tool for Valeton GP-series pedals (GP-5 tested)

Hey all — I own a Valeton GP-5 and the one thing that always bugged me is that there's no way to back up your presets. One factory reset and everything's gone, and there's no official desktop app to organize your tones.

So I built one: GP Multi Editor. It connects over USB and lets you:

- Edit everything live (amp, cab, drive, delay, reverb — models, knobs, on/off, chain order), and it follows the pedal's footswitch back

- Back up all 100 presets to a single file

- Import/restore any patch in one click, 100% faithful (every parameter, bypass state, effect order)

- Share tones with other players as files

The editor is free. The full preset librarian (backup/organize/import) is a one-time unlock — no subscription. Works offline after a one-time activation. Windows only for now.

It's fully tested on the GP-5. The rest of the GP line (50/100/200) shares the same system but is experimental — the free version lets you check if it connects to your unit first.

Fully independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by the manufacturer. I made it because I wanted it.

Would love feedback from anyone with a GP pedal: gpmultieditor.tonscott.com.br

(Happy to answer questions and take feature requests.)

Live gig with NAM A2 Player

Last live gig was also a great real-world test for NAM A2 Player — and this time I used it as part of my actual live setup, not just at studio.

The setup was simple: guitar → audio interface → iPhone → NAM A2 Player → PA, with the iPhone handling my guitar tone. No traditional amp, no large pedalboard, just a compact digital rig.

What mattered most was how it behaved in a real live environment: stability, latency, responsiveness and, of course, the sound through the PA. Everything worked exactly as expected throughout the gig. The response felt natural while playing, the setup was easy to manage, and having my tones available directly on the iPhone made the whole rig incredibly convenient - using the M-Vave Chocolate Plus to control the whole setup.

Developing an app is one thing. Taking it on stage, plugging in your guitar and actually relying on it for a live performance is something completely different.

NAM A2 Player passed the live test. 🎸

Rivera Rockcrusher vs Fryette Powerstation 50

Before ask my question, I would like to provide a little background history about myself. I started practicing guitar consistently during the start of the pandemic. I am a mostly self-taught guitarist, but I have taken lessons in the past. I primary guitar is a Gibson Les Paul through a Marshall JTM 20 studio. So I would say that I am still very much a beginner although my definition one may say I am more of a intermediate player. I’m still trying to find my sound and in all transparency still learning how to operate the equipment that I already have.

With that being said, I have a rock crusher currently, but the opportunity has presented itself for me to potentially get my hands on a power station. Now, with my rock station I feel like my settings are either too loud or to muddy or too muddy or too bright. So, I am very much aware that I am the issue here lol.

My question is, which piece of equipment is ‘better’? What would make one the preference over the other.

Also, if you are in the Denver area and you wanna come hang out and kick it shoot me a message lol

Should I put my boost into distortion into fuzz?

I play big, loud, noisy alt rock like dinosaur jr, and currently have a tube screamer copy into a DS-1. I was wondering if for like solos or the biggest parts of the song if it would be cool to put a Big Muff at the end of the chain? If so, what suggestions would you have for doing this?

I found a Crate GT1200H and a Crate 412TS 4x12 for 220 bucks, should I buy?

This would be my first real rig, and I plan to sell it in a year or so to buy a nicer one. The head’s reverb doesn’t work but other than that it’s in good condition. I play loud and distorted indie rock. Would this be a good deal for me?

Note: I am broke as all hell

Modern metal twin

I play modern metal and buying my first tube amp, transitioning from a stereo dual spider v setup. There's a fender twin reissue for sale at my local pawnshop for $450, and since I own a demonfx BE-OD deluxe clone and an airis 51 filthy, I was considering going the tosin abasi circa 2018 route using classic amps with pedals. I already own a boss NS-2 for pickup noise, but should I also look into a parametric EQ? What else would anyone recommend for this setup, if at all? The high gain amp im considering is the peavey invective combo. Locked into a combo atm because I don't want to own a fancy high gain pedal till I can buy a cab for a month or 2.
