As a dietitian, I am interested to find out about GLP-1s and the relationship it's had to your gut/ mental health.
Hi everyone,
I’m a Registered Dietitian currently conducting qualitative research into the broader, real-world impacts of GLP-1 receptor agonists (both during active use and after tapering/discontinuing).
While clinical trials give us clear macro-data on weight loss and HbA1c, I am interested in understanding the everyday, lived patient experience—particularly regarding digestive health, the gut, and the mental/emotional shifts that accompany these medications, from the weird shifts in motility and stubborn constipation to food tolerances randomly changing overnight, I want to hear the UNFILTERED REALITY of your overall gut microbiome experience.
If you're currently on a GLP-1 (or have tapered off/ stopped), I’d love to chat about a few things:
- Your Gut & Digestion: How has your stomach handled this? What’s your day-to-day digestion actually like? If you've come off the medication, how did your gut react during the transition? When you went on the glp-1 did you notice anything that happened relating to your gut?
- Your why: What made you decide to start a GLP-1 in the first place?
- The Mental Side: Beyond the physical, how has this shifted your relationship with food, cravings, or "food noise"? ( Our gut is often referred to as our 'second brain', so has the GLP-1 impacted your mental health in more of a negative way?)
I’m not selling anything or promoting a program—just genuinely trying to learn from people living it so I can understand the gut-brain side of this better.
Would love to hear your experiences in the comments! 👇
