What the f*** HKBU

I am so so so upset with this school right now. For context, I planned on being an exchange student FOR ONE SEMESTER at HKBU as a senior college student. Mind you, I have mentioned MANY MANY MANY times to the admissions office that I am a college student applying for ONE semester. So for the past six months, I have been submitting paperwork and everything else to the admissions office BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY DIRECTED ME TO DO.

WELL SURPRISE!!! They emailed this email saying that THIS ENTIRE TIME, I HAVE BEEN SUBMITTING EVERYTHING TO THE WRONG APPLICATION AND THAT MY APPLICATION WILL BE WITHDRAWN!!!

THEY SAID I HAVE TO SUBMIT IT TO THE INTERNATIONAL HKBU NOT THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE. So now I'm fucking freaking out because after they accepted me, I already booked airfare tickets and I already planned EVERYTHING around this trip. LIKE WTF?! I'm so upset and annoyed because I ALWAYS had to remind them that I was a college student and only staying for one semester BUT APPARENTLY THEY DONT LISTEN LIKE WTF??!!!

2026/2027 Student Exchange

I’ve just been accepted for the student exchange at HKBU for September hopefully doing visual arts, wondering if there were any other exchange students coming for September 2026/2027? :)

Belt and Road Scholarship — chances after accepting offer? Kazakhstan applicant

I just received a conditional offer from HKBU BBA (School of Business) with a HK$40,000 admission scholarship. The offer letter says I'll be nominated for the Belt and Road Scholarship if I accept.

I'm from Kazakhstan (Belt and Road country). My family can't cover full tuition without additional financial support. I need to decide by July 10.

A few questions for anyone who has been through this:

Is the B&R nomination automatic once you accept, or do they pick who to nominate?

Did you get any interview or notification before the B&R result came out?

How long after accepting the offer did you find out about B&R?

Is it worth accepting the offer without knowing the B&R outcome — or is it too much financial risk?

Any advice from past B&R recipients or HKBU students would be really helpful. Thanks
