As the title says, I'm using an old iMac that runs Catalina 10.15 and I want to use my laptop as a second monitor but I'm having some trouble figuring out how to do that. I have them connected via HDMI cord (the Mac doesn't have a port so I'm using an adapter) but I'm not seeing an option in the Mac's settings to configure the display and my laptop says that it doesn't detect any other displays under the multiple displays option. Any clue what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks.

i have a hp laptop (thin and light) a few days ago it showed 90B fan errror but now its not showing anything is there any way for me to check if its working or not through any software as i cannot hear it due to external noise

I bought a new HyperX Omen yesterday with the following specs:
RTX 5060 Laptop GPU
Intel Core i7-14650HX
24GB RAM
2.5K (1600p) 180Hz display
After setting it up, I updated:
NVIDIA graphics driver through the NVIDIA App
BIOS through HP Support Assistant
Windows (fully updated)
The problem is with Valorant. My FPS fluctuates a lot during competitive matches. It can be around 240 FPS, but also drops to 120 FPS, which makes the game feel inconsistent.
In Team Deathmatch, the FPS usually stays between 120–180 FPS and rarely goes above 200 FPS.
I know that 180 FPS is enough for a 180Hz display, but with an i7-14650HX, I was expecting much higher and more stable FPS. I watched several YouTube benchmarks where even the RTX 5050 variant was getting around 300+ FPS in Valorant, so I’m confused why my RTX 5060 model is performing worse.
Some additional information:
GPU mode is set to Hybrid in OMEN Gaming Hub (there is no dedicated dGPU-only option on my laptop).
Windows power mode is set to Best Performance.
NVIDIA drivers, BIOS, and Windows are all up to date.
I haven’t tested any AAA games yet since I’ve had the laptop for less than 24 hours.
Is this normal for this laptop, or could there be something wrong with my settings? Has anyone with the same HyperX Omen or similar specs experienced this issue or found a fix?

pessoal, essa semana meu amigo me trouxe um omen 14 com 5060, comprei seminovo no ebay e veio sem carregador, pesquisei bastante e vi que tinha tudo para suportar o carregador baseus GAN de 140w, comprei um cabo esager de 240w, no primeiro dia não notei diferença e joguei por cerca de 3h sem descarregar, hoje (3 dia) ele começou a perder performance no meio do jogo e descarregar na tomada, percebi que ele está carregando até no max 45w, meu carregador samsung nem carrega ele, isso aconteceu após eu rodar um script de otimização do cris tittus (não acho que isso seja o problema). já reiniciei, atualizei todos os drivers, as duas portas se comportam igualmente, e agora mais cedo ele parou de carregar, depois de um tempo tentando fazer voltar, ele voltou a carregar mas ainda limitado aos 45w.

queria saber se alguém pode me ajudar, se já passou por isso.

i am having problems with my touchpad it is not working i have tried multiple time but it does not work i was hoping if you guys could help me fix it the thing that i am most confused about is when i touch the pad the keyboard light up but it doesnot move cursor plus the touchpad doesnot show up in the settings as well i have tried to resolve this using gemini but it is of no use absoulte garbage i have been trying for weeks now and internet has also not been very helpfull so that why i am posting it on reddit to see if somehow i get some clues on what is wrong or what should i do, i dont understand the issue i am not a huge tech guy and its a very new laptop for me i purchased it refurbished (if you understand what i mean ) and so far it has been good but the touchpad not working and using the external mouse is really annoying

So guys I just ordered a brand new hp laptop with 1 tb storage, but first of all it is only showing 954 gb available and even on top of that somehow 80 gb of 954 gb is already occupied like what the hell??? Is this normal??? . I didn't even download anything apart from the updates that were showing available. There were too many updates tbh . So guys let me know is this normal cus i didn't even start doing anything and this much storage is gone

specifications :

1. 14th gen / 13th gen processor ( preferabbly 14th + intel )
2. graphics card ( lowest possible not highest , but should be at least there )
3. DDR5 RAM ( not DDR4)
4. Newer architectured mobile processor ( focusing on lower TDP and more on AI tasks + battery efficiency ) ( most preferrable ) / i-5 ( at least )
5. H / HS / HX series ( not less than these )

budget 80K INR

It's my sister's old laptop that she gave to me. She doesn't remember the password. I can't factory reset it without a recovery key, which I do not have.

Every tutorial I've found had to do with recovering a BitLocker, and I don't know what that is ad that has nothing to do with this (I think) so I'm stumped. Am I doomed?

We have a fleet of 430 G8's running at work and some of them have the same issue. When they work at their desk, the laptop is fine. Once the laptop is undocked and picked up, to go to a meeting for example, the laptop freezes. It seems that, when the laptop is being picked up, pressure is applied to the bottom of the laptop. Something is being pressed that causes the freeze. Did any of you experience the same issue? We can not be the only one's right?

I’m trying to fix an HP Pavilion 15-ay009dx (2017-ish).

The laptop powers on (fans/lights), but the screen stays black.

What’s weird:

• Before CMOS reset, motherboard would power on but never get warm
• After removing the CMOS battery, it showed CMOS reset screens a few times but never again.
• It showed “No bootable device” after resetting CMOS first time (so BIOS/display worked at least once)
• Tried booting from USB but it went black and then never again
• Tried HP BIOS recovery (Windows + B) but no recovery screen appeared
• Tried different RAM sticks and every slot
• With no RAM installed, Caps Lock flashes blue (so it detects missing RAM)
• With RAM installed, Caps Lock doesn’t respond

I’ve tried most common fixes from HP forums/YouTube and even asking AI. Is this likely BIOS corruption, motherboard failure, EC issue, or something else?
