Need honest opinions about colleges in Haldwani

Took a gap year and now thinking of joining a college in Haldwani, mainly Graphic Era but open to other options too.

Just wanted honest reviews about:

  • college life
  • crowd
  • attendance
  • placements
  • hostel/day scholar experience
  • overall environment

Also confused if staying in Haldwani is worth it or moving to Dehradun would be better.

Any good shop for pc build?

Yar koi badhiya dukan bata do, I live in Kaladhungi, thinking of buying myself a pc for the first time, no idea about it. Suggest me a genuine shop which builds pc at a reasonable price and don't scam by providing bad parts at the same rate of something else which is good.

Is it wrong to give interviews just to negotiate a better hike in your current company?

Been with the same company for 2 years now, and honestly, I genuinely like working here. My performance has been good, clients are happy, and I’ve always tried to give my best.

But despite that, there hasn’t been a proper hike, so recently I started giving interviews just to understand my market value.

Now a few companies are ready to move forward with offers, giving approx 40~ of hike, but most of them want immediate joiners or someone who can join within 15 days.

And this is where I feel conflicted.

I’m not desperately trying to leave my current company. A part of me still wants to stay here, i just want to feel valued and get a fair hike.

So now I feel guilty accepting interview rounds and potential offers, knowing there’s a chance I may eventually stay back if my current company matches it.

Is this normal in corporate life? Or does it feel unfair to the new employer?

What's happening to haldwani?

Today while driving my bike near RTO road, a Sikh guy in his thar coming from the opposite direction saw me and several vehicles behind, still that mf went for an overtake and didn't try to go back to his lane. I was Just about to collide with him head to head, must have been saved by a few centimetres.

After all that mf instead of apologizing or being sorry rolled down this window and started acting tough. I confronted him and told him to drive in his lane, mf said 'pass maanga tha maine' which he clearly didn't and even if he did there was no space, mf was trying to run over me.

told him "paas maanga tha toh kya mere upar chadha doge?" that shit hole said "fir se aa chadha tha hu tere upar". Told him "bhai araam se chala aur araam se baat kar" that whore's kid said 'kya kar lega yahin chalaunga, chal nikal".

I was so fucking stunned by the behaviour of that guy and whats happening to the people here. His acts and words looked like he wanted to provoke me for a fight or some escalation, as was with some other guys in his car. I was running late to some place so I had to be wise and leave from there. I wanted to confront him more, but doing that would have only given him the satisfaction he needed and would have only stressed me.

The only thing I regret is that I didn't note down his vehicle number. As I would have taken up some legal action against him later for sure.

But all things aside this makes me very concerned about the city, the way people are behaving here, and the future this kind of stuff holds for this city and its people.

Also there should be some kind of person or people or organisations that should be standing against all this. And standing up with people who need help in such situations.
