Is halo wars 2 a decent game and worth playing today?

I used to live HW1 played many hours and ran the campaign a multiple times. I was very excited the HW2 release but gave up onit after a week, can't remember why. I'm expecting the game is dead but have recently reran all the halo games and really enjoyed them. So thinking about buying and trying HW2 again. Is it worth it for the campaign, PvP or PvE (Legendary), all 3 or non at all?

I almost took back all the insults that i said to this AI. We were lucky that enemy didn't use Cryo Bombs (good thing that the Vultures were distributed between the armies)

I swear the AI (both Ally and Enemy) of HW1 that i have faced in matches has been pretty intelligent. But this dumb Choice almost costed me the whole match with this "Battle of Cannae" type of error. Like we just needed to wait, but this added 25 mins of game
