Hamtaro Plate

I went to one of those “paint and plaster” places and decided to try my hand at our furry little friend ♥️

I wish this show still reran when I was young

I grew up with a mother that hated me watching Cartoon Network because she thought Foster's Home and Ed Edd n Eddy had bad role models for a 4 year old like me. I've only seen about 6 episodes of Hamtaro, but I already love it and I could tell my mom would've liked me watching it. By the time I could remember watching the network in 2005 (they had stopped airing the really old stuff by then aside from Tom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo), the only show that was on that she was fine with me on Cartoon Network watching was Baby Looney Tunes.

I love how wholesome Hamtaro is and I like how the characters seem to be very nice. I watched the one where Hamtaro welcomed Bijou into the clubhouse and was very nice to her. She was nervous at first, but Hamtaro encouraged her nicely.

Lazuli and Snoozer in the Sweet Paradise Sky on a Pink Cloud

Art by me (under my artist name Yujo)

After doing quite a few Hamtaro illustrations (especially the ones featuring my new personal favorite Hamtaro pairing, Hamtaro and Lapis), now here's a new one featuring both Lazuli and Snoozer in the Sweet Paradise Sky on a pink cloud. What do you all think of it?

Am I the only one who feels Hamtaro would've fit better on Nick or Disney?

By then, Nick and Disney weren't interested in acquired shows, but Hamtaro feels like the type of show that would've fit much better alongside shows like Kim Possible, Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, The Proud Family, Boy Meets World, Pepper Ann, etc. or more alongside shows like Hey Arnold, SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, Rocket Power, Wild Thornberrys, Rugrats, etc. than the Cartoon Network shows back when Hamtaro made it to america in June 2002.

It always felt like Cartoon Network was very high energy and action packed. Their comedies were also very high on the slapstick and lots of movement. Nickelodeon always felt like a middle ground and Disney Channel for the most part felt like a laid-back hangout comedy place. Their shows were comedies, but they felt laid back even with all the hijinks and shenanigans.

(OC) I wanted to share my little Hamtaro painting

I have a little sketchbook that I try to paint in regularly and thought you might like this little painting I created of some of the ham hams. 🥰💖 it was inspired by the Mitchiri-Neko March. Eventually I want to paint more of them.
