Best Deluxe Reverb Clone

I’m renting the Headrush Core and I’m debating buying it instead of a UAFX dream for all the extras. What’s the best super clone or clone of the deluxe reverb amp?

What’s your favourite amp clone in general?

I’m finding the models are not great but I’m quite enjoying the clones that I’ve tried so far.

Anything a potential buyer should be aware of? Any tips or tricks?

I built a tool to measure perceived loudness of presets — curious if this is useful to others

I had a problem I suspect many of you know: record a few presets, compare them in a mix, and even with matched LUFS they sit at completely different perceived volumes. A dense crunch pushes harder than a clean tone at the same K-weighted number — the ear isn't a meter.

I spent a few months figuring out why. The short answer: LUFS K-weighting treats all frequencies equally, but the ear doesn't. A dense midrange-heavy tone triggers more loudness perception than the number suggests.

So I built something. It measures perceived loudness using a psychoacoustic Bark-band model — same principle as Zwicker's loudness model — and gives you:

- The exact dB correction to apply to each preset's output to match perceived loudness to a reference

- A timbre-only "Character" score (presence, dynamics, stereo width) separated from volume — tells you if a difference is a gain issue or an EQ issue

- Cut-through score — how well the spectrum sits in a dense mix

- 8-band spectral balance with concrete parametric EQ suggestions

- Loudness curve over time (N50 sustain / N5 peaks)

Workflow: record the same passage through each preset, drop the files in, pick a reference, press Analyze. Runs in the browser, no install.

I'm selling it but happy to answer questions about the model or the approach first. Has anyone else run into this problem and how did you solve it?

Headrush core making crackling sound issue

Anyone know what's going here? Started making a crackling sound and won't go away. Tried downgrading firmware and reloading 5.0.1 but still doing it and getting louder. Is it dead?

Prime to Flex Prime

I am thinking of selling my Prime and getting a Flex Prime.

I have no intention of using its vocal capabilities and I don't really need that much buttons.

Are there anything Flex Prime can't do that Prime can except the vocal stuff and extra buttons?

Do you think it is a good idea to technically "downgrade" to Flex Prime? Prime is great and all but it is absolutely a nightmare to carry around. Even at home, it takes a ton of space in my little room.

New Headrush Help Website!

Hi everyone! I’m really proud to introduce the "Headrush Help" project!

I created this site to improve the user experience for owners of Headrush modelers (Prime, Core, and Flex Prime).

The website aims to fill the gaps in the official documentation, helping users configure and get the most out of the various blocks.

The ultimate goal isn't to create the "perfect rig" and hand it to you on a silver platter, but rather to provide the end user with all the information and tools needed to craft their own unique sound.

The project is completely free, open-source, and cookie-free!

I hope you find it useful! 🤟🎸🎤

Expression Pedal - Headrush Core

What expression pedal is everyone using with their Headrush Core? I’d like one with a toe switch similar to a vintage wah pedal.

Wish Headrush hadn’t discontinued their expression pedals.

Is the VX5 stuck at 440hz?

Does anyone know if this auto-tune is set permanently to 440 Hertz or can it be shifted down to 432 Hertz for example? Considering buying it but I always tune out of 440 so I don't know if this is compatible..

How to sound good live

I'm happy with my unit. I have a Flex Prime, and I really like its sound. I create presets and scenes, and everything sounds great at home when I'm using headphones. However, when I play live, all of my sounds become terrible. There are way too many harsh highs, my clean tones sound dirty, and there's a huge volume difference between presets. How can I fix this?

Price increase with NAM introduction.

I haven’t heard anything new about it sense the release post but do you guys think with HR officially supporting NAM we may see a price increase of the HR modules?

Considering switching from Flex Prime to Prime so I may need to hop on it quickly

New Toy

Okay, so I figured out how to get a stereo rig out of the Head Rush go: pretty easy. My new issue is I was wondering if you can tell me once I highlight an effect in a rig, how do I edit the parameters?

Flex prime -> Prime

Highly considering switch from the flex prime to the prime. The extra buttons, in’s/out’s, and the vocal processing are all huge selling points for me.

Can anyone that has experience with both give me a pro/cons for the switch?

Headrush audio issues

I’ve been having a bit of trouble with my USB connection from my computer to the USB-B port on my Core. I use this connection to listen to YouTube tracks and TrueFire lessons. After about 5 to 30 minutes, the sound starts to garble and then stops working. I can fix this by changing the audio output in Windows and switching back to HR 1/2, but that just pushes the problem back a bit. The issue keeps happening no matter whether I’m using the USB connection from my computer or the docking station.

I’ve tried changing cables, turning off Bluetooth, unplugging and plugging the USB connection, and other troubleshooting steps.

Any advice?

Using multiple boards.

Hello all.

I have the original headrush eleven board and the prime. I mainly use the prime but im disappointed with the loop timing. So I generally record using the original still but I try to keep one separate for guitar and bass. Planning to use a possible third to run and modulate the same effects to keep the vocals on a separate loop too. I want to run them in series together. What's the core like in comparison?

Can Rigs be loaded from computer to a stick

I think my EZ Fiber router sucks. I'm not able to use the remote editor on my PC. Would it be possible to buy a rig online and dl it onto a stick and transfer it onto the core from there?

Power surge, is it garbage?

I have a HR 12” FRFR that I bOught for bedroom use with my Kemper. I had it on and lost power for a second (I’m in FL and power popping off for a second is pretty common as storms hit the area) and got a loud pop from the speaker. After the Kemper re-started, I’ve been getting a fizzing sound from the HR ever since. I actually stopped using the Hr and have just been running the Kemper through my studio monitors.

Question is - the Headrush is blown most likely, right? And not worth repairing at its price point? I’m moving and wondering if I should throw it out or move it.
