This variety pack delivers 21 Headrush amp clones spanning the most iconic modern high-gain amp heads — Mesa Boogie Mark IV, Dual Rectifier, JP-2C, and Stiletto; Marshall JCM800, JCM2000, JMP 2203, and JVM 410H; EVH 5150 Script; Diezel Herbert; Orange Rockerverb MKIII and Rocker 15 Terror; Laney Lionheart; Brunetti XL; and more — every one of them boosted with a Boss SD-1, Ibanez TS-9, or Maxon 808 for that extra layer of focus, compression, and harmonic density. The result is a collection that covers everything from tight modern metal and brutal chug to saturated rock crunch and smooth lead tones.

Just got a HR Prime but wondering about which speaker to get.

Hi everybody, first off LOVING the Prime so far even if i can only hear it through my headphones or laptop speakers through a DAW lol

So, I was wondering which speaker/cab to get in the future. Should I go with an FRFR cab like the Laney cab everyone loves, or would a traditional cab and just not use the cab sims sound best?

Or would a regular PA speaker be better then a cab?

Thank you to all who answer!

Pitch shifting

Is there anyway for use the tuning function post pitch shift? (I haven’t dug tooo much so forgive my ignorance if it’s obvious) I know it’s not an effective way to check the tuning of your instrument but it would be cool to be able to check and adjust accurately after the shift. It would also be helpful to be able to check and make sure you’ve shifted correctly

Yamaha Stagepass 100 - Any thoughts/experience?

I'm looking for a speaker that I can use to play without headphones (I get ear fatigue rather quickly - even at low volumes). Ideally, it should be Bluetooth and easy to carry around the house (battery powered) for casual listening. I know I could get studio monitors and a normal Bluetooth, but I'm on the minimalist side and I'd prefer to have one solution if possible.

I also looked into practice amps like the HeadRush Go, but they have a whole bunch of models for all-in-one solutions, but it's redundant as I already have the FlexPrime, and I'd rather put the money where it matters.

Specs:

  • Power: 100 W RMS
  • Class-D amplifier
  • Integrated 3-channel digital mixer
  • Max. SPL: 120 dB
  • Bluetooth audio
  • Two-band master EQ
  • FIR filter
  • Inputs: 2 x Mic/Line XLR/jack combo (channel 2 Hi-Z) and 1 x mini jack stereo/mono line
  • Outputs: 1 x XLR mix
  • 3/8" Speaker stand flange mount
  • Dispersion angle (H x V): 90° x 90°
  • Carrying handle can also be used as adjustable stand
  • Dimensions (W x H x D): 239 x 310 x 215 mm
  • Weight: 5 kg

Has anyone ever played through one of those? Alternatives I considered so far are:
Mackie Thump GO
JBL IRX108BT

Creating Rigs using AI

I absolutely love my HeadRush Prime. I can not belive I almost sold it because of the mighty size of it. Now, I don't even use any of the plugins I got. This device has absolutely everything I want and need.

Recently, I began using Gemini as a guitar rig expert. I use the IR's of the bands I like and create rigs based on my favorite albums. Surprisingly, Gemini is actually quite good at dialing tones according to your needs. I will be posting the rigs I made to the Cloud when I'm done.

Headrush expression pedal

Are Headrush still making the expression pedal? I cannot find one (UK) or is there a better alternative pedal? Previously used the Mission SP-HR pedal but it’s stopped working.

Got a new HR Core and it's very overwhelming

So I received my Core yesterday and it's honestly very overwhelming. Suddenly I've got like hundrets of pedals and amps and IRs at my literal finger (or toe) tips and it feels very overwhelming because I am too inexperienced to actually model a tone that I like, it's more a trial and error, where the "error" happens a loooot more often. In the presets that are shipped with the device, there are a few cool tones, but not really a high gain modern metal tone that I like, and I have yet to try out dozens of rigs people have uploaded that contain the term "modern metal", the few ones that I did try sound ass.

Also: Is there an option to have the audio at the 6.8mm jack go through the IR sim in my rig and the 3 Pin output to bypass the IR? Because I'm playing through the power amp section of my katana 50 which is not an FRFR, bur for playing into my interface I want it to go through an IR.

Just bought the flex prime

I have wanted a headrush since they first came out. Never really pulled the trigger but I got tired of lugging amps around for setups and tear downs. Pulled the trigger on a flex prime last night and holy hell. This thing sounds amazing! So impressed. Alot to learn as I've only merely scratched the surface. But this thing is impressive.

I tend to gig a lot. Hopefully it'll handle the road life well. But man, I have fallen in love.

New to Headrush

I just picked up the OG Pedalboard and it's basically unused. It's still on v 1.19 firmware.

My first instinct is to go straight to 2.7 and get all the new stuff, but I read that while HeadrushFX does not offer an official software for managing the unit from a computer that there are 3rd party unofficial programs. They had however been locked out from the unit in the most recent firmware updates.

Any insights or advice?

HeadrushPrime vs Quad Cortex

I am honestly so interested about this topic yet I can't really find a direct comparison.

Are there anything that QC can do the HR Prime can't?

I'm not saying one is better than the other because I haven't used Quad Cortex, but from what I hear from all the videos on the internet (tone wise) there isn't really that big of a difference in quality.

Faulty

I think my flex prime is faulty, or maybe I just don't like it because I can never get tones to feel correct or amp like always sounded digital or compressed or flat no dynamics.

I found out what was missing a few days ago after purchasing a cheap modeller just to see how bad cheap modelling is and just using in built amps with custom IRs I actually enjoy the tones and feel of that more than anything ive come up with using the flex prime.

It's like something is wrong with the gain staging. With no tube screamer all amps sound flubby and lower gain than they should ( using clones "as I don't like the in built amps at all") but enabling a tube screamer with the usual max vol, no gain noon tone, I get more gain but pick response feels anaemic flat. No matter which way I go about it, less amp gain more boost, less boost more amp gain, it just sounds like there is this always on compressor that doesnt help with sustain or anything just kills dynamics.

Second issue is the delays, they all seem to kinda suck imo?

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Pedalboard for the Headrush Pedalboard

I was wondering what everyone was using for a pedalboard for the Headrush Pedalboard. Im swapping over from a tonex and pedalchain in an SKB PS-45 and would like something to fit the unit fairly flush at an angle. Preferably with a case for safe storage in the band trailer. I have a drop pedal im going to use with it and a shure glxd4 thatll go up under the board itself.

MX5 + VP4 = True Love

I recently built a small board using the MX5 with a Fractal VP4 going into the MX5 send and return. It's brilliant that HR made the fx loop on the MX5 stereo. Thank you HR! I have the Gigboard as well which has an fx loop, but it is mono.

I know HR doesn't always get the love it deserves, but I love this little setup. It does everything I want it to do and extends the MX5 into all new territory. I'm not one that needs to make models and add models or cabs to my existing setups. I feel I have my MX5 pretty dialed in and I think it sounds amazing. By adding the VP4, tonality just went sky high. The Fractal sounds are incredible and it interfaces with the MX5 beautifully. The sounds are huge, detailed and strikingly clear. Running this setup in stereo is BIG!

I really like the size of the whole package and it gives me loads of paint for the canvas without resorting to my big board. This setup is light, fast, stable and allows for complete creativity of approaches. I'm not using any midi aspects but that is possible to do. I have added an HR expression pedal to the VP4 to weep in fxs as desired and control fx parameters.

The bottom line, i wanted a smaller setup with lush, rich endless sounds. I considered several of the big boards out there incorporating everything into one board. But they seemed big, complicated and included features I'd be paying for not needed or want. I just want to extend my MX5 into new realms. The Fractal VP4 was the answer and I'm stoked to keep on the same page I've been working with and add a whole new tool set. So keeping my MX5 alive and well and not retiring it.

This setup is mounted on a Pedaltrain Metro 8"x24". Fits great. I ran a two outlet extension under the board for the units instead of a power supply. Space is tight under there. I added two rubber foot rests to slightly raise the back of the board up for clearance underneath. It all tucks into the Pedaltrain metal case with ease.

So... sharing this if you are interested in taking a HR legacy product to new levels and have all new opportunities. I know this is all subjective, but for me I'm giddy with this ditty 😄 I hope this is helpful to someone out there... it can be done.
