Worth buy a Prime if encoder knob is broken?

I’m really interested in picking up a Headrush Prime, and I found one on Marketplace for a great price. The catch is that the main encoder knob is broken (see pictures). Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Is it a simple repair, or is it more trouble than it’s worth?

Flex Prime to FRFR-GO

Hi,

i just bought the FLEX Prime with a FRFR-GO. What cable to use here? FLEX Prime is TRS Output and FRFR-GO seems like TS Input. Can i use TRS? I want to connect two FRFR-GO.

recent headrush purchase

Hey guys,

I'm a new headrush flex prime user coming from the fractal ecosystem. Got my unit last week and it sounds great but im having some issues with internet connectivity. Im getting lots of connection errors and time outs. We are a streaming only household and never have issues with internet. Is this a common thing or did I get a lemon unit?

Thanks!

Headrush Core: Give your best tip please

Hello there!

I am a fresh owner of the Headrush Core!

I was on the edge to buy a QC or a Stadium for like a year and finally went for the Core out of nowhere. (Ok because of Nam + a post on Reddit that says it’s good for modern metal)

Here is my Setup:
Headrush Core connected with 4CM to my Orange Supercrush 100 combo
DT770 Pro

With this setup I can:
Play the core effects with the Supercrush by using FX loop block

Play an amp sim and effects through the Supercrush by not using the FX loop block

Play amp sim/cab in the DT 770 pro 80ohms

I plan to buy either an fr12 cab or some Focal 65 evo later on.

It’s my first digital amp and even if I’ve seen a lot of vidéos, do you guys have some general tips to share?

I have been using it for like 4 hours, so far so good! Not sure if I like it through the Supercrush but I’ve read that power amp + cab is a good way to make amp sim sounds better. Many people like the pedal baby which is the same as the SuperCrush without some pots. Maybe the speaker! It sounds kind of dark

Thanks!!

XLR?

Want to buy a Flex Prime, but it has no XLR output. Is this a problem, if I want to use the unit also for live stage performances?

Spark 2 vs. HeadRush Flex Prime — Is the upgrade really worth it for metal?

Hey everyone!

I currently use a **Spark 2** for practicing and playing at home, along with a **Dunlop Cry Baby** and a **Digitech Whammy DT**. I mainly play metal — especially **classic/heavy metal, old-school death metal, and metalcore**.

I've been considering making the jump from the Spark 2 to a **HeadRush** setup, especially now that HeadRush has implemented **Tone3000 compatibility**. I'm curious about how much of a difference I could realistically expect in terms of amp tones, effects, feel and overall sound quality.

For those who have used both systems: **would you say the upgrade from a Spark 2 to a HeadRush is actually worth it?** Or would the difference be relatively small for home practice?

If the upgrade is worth it, I'm thinking the **HeadRush Flex Prime** would probably be the best option for me. However, I'm not sure what would be the best way to pair it with a **speaker/cabinet for playing at home**.

I'd basically like to use the Flex Prime as my main amp at home, so I'm looking for something that would work well with it for metal without being unnecessarily expensive or overkill for bedroom/home use.

**What speaker, FRFR cabinet, or powered speaker would you recommend to pair with the Flex Prime?**

I'd really appreciate opinions from anyone who has experience with the Spark 2, HeadRush/Flex Prime, or both. Especially interested in hearing whether you think the upgrade is genuinely noticeable for metal tones.

Axe fx2 or headrush in 2026

I know it’s not the same Tier, but the axe 2 was born in 2011, prices today are similar tho. I’ve saw everyone moving from axe Fx to QC, some to helix, now everyone is getting into the headrush and the nam2 seems like the future.

But Sometimes I believe people got bored of great tone and wanted more bling bling and easy touch pad interface, people can’t read a manual and figure out instructions these days… you know these new generations are so strongly and manly, well that’s my theory why they all went to try other devices.

I grew in the 90s, we got to share a single tv and rent 1 movie and watched it like 5 times over a weekend.

Let’s say at an even 800$/€ what would you get ?

I’m asking because I’m almost buying the axe2 with a mfc-101 but wondering if there’s something I’m missing

NAM profiles

How do I use my saved NAM captures? I tried double clicking on the amp in my rig and I don't think they appeared. Does anybody have a resource I can use for this?

Does the HeadRush sound nasal, like it has a stuffy nose?

I’m the person who posted recently asking whether I should get the Ampero II Stomp or the HeadRush Flex Prime.

I was leaning toward the HeadRush, but I recently saw a comment saying that the HeadRush has a “nasal” or “pinched-nose” sound.

I previously used a BOSS GX-10, but I sold it because I didn’t really like its somewhat muffled/dull sound. Another reason was that other multi-effects units had started supporting NAM, while the GX-10 does not.

So now I’m wondering: if the HeadRush also has a somewhat muffled or nasal sound, would the Ampero II Stomp be a better choice for me?

I’ve also heard that the Ampero II Stomp has a relatively weak CPU and can run out of processing power pretty quickly. Is this something that could be improved with future firmware updates, or is it ultimately limited by the hardware?

I’ve heard that the Ampero II has a clearer and more open sound. Would that be a better fit for someone who prefers a clear, detailed digital tone?

If you’ve used either of these units, I’d really appreciate your thoughts and experiences.

Also, if there are any other good multi-effects/modelers available around $600, I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Need advice for buying gear

Aloha. I’m a beginner-intermediate bedroom player currently with a spark 2. I’m interested in getting an amp modeler, I was originally interested in helix or fender but with the NAM update I’m interested in headrush. Could you please give me some advice on following (considering I have very little knowledge on modelers)

  1. with NAM integration, is headrush now the modeler of choice for captures compared to other popular devices?
(I enjoy playing Gilmour/gary Moore/some acoustic stuff and also like sounds of fender reverb amps)

  2. if I get headrush core, is there a particular FRFR speaker I should choose to get the best out of it or it doesn’t matter?

Thank you for your advice :)

Ampero II Stomp vs HeadRush Flex Prime — which would you choose?

Japanese user here, so I’m using a translator. Sorry if my English sounds unnatural!

I use a BOSS GX-10. I recently tried NAM A2 on PC and was blown away by the sound, so I’m looking for a NAM-compatible unit.

I’m considering the Ampero II Stomp and HeadRush Flex Prime. The Ampero is very compact, but I’ve heard its CPU is weaker. Flex Prime seems to have a stronger CPU and better UI, but I don’t need the expression pedal.

I’ve also heard HeadRush has a strong low/mid range. I’m not sure about that because I think I prefer a very clear, detailed sound with a slightly digital character.

Which would you choose for sound, NAM, effects and processing power?

Was trying to find a decent bag for the Headrush core and found this one. Thought I’d share for people who are looking. Seems to be a decent fit

Other pedals with the Core?

Does anyone run noise gates or compressors or other pedals along with their pedal boards? I haven’t gotten my Core yet, it’s in the post so I’m just curious.

Core with Antares Vocal…

First of all Thanks in advance. My present rig is an HX Stomp with a TC Helicon Voicelive Acoustic. I use the VLA for slight pitch vocal adjustment & Harmonies. The HX Stomp has all my Acoustic Effects and IR’s for playing. Would any of you recommend switching to the CORE to replace them both? Would need good acoustic presets for it and obviously the Vocal settings need to be good. Thanks again!

Flex upgrade issue

Just got the Flex Prime. Came loaded with v4 system, started upgrade and it has been sitting on a static upgrade screen for half an hour. Safe to turn it off and try again?
