Seller wants 30€+ shipping. Here in germany, broadies seem rather rare, starting from 60€. Is it actually one from ww2 or a replica (condition seems waaay to good)
I’ve had this m42 for a while now and I want to confirm if it’s ss or not. The guy I bought it from said it was, but I never believe what they say. There are remnants of a ss decal, but I can’t confirm if thats real or not. Also the lot is either 1051 or 1351 but I can’t tell. 1351 would line up with an ef66 sd ss helmet found in the German helmet vault list. What do y’all think? The 2nd slide shows the decal remnants (very very hard to tell) only an outline and a few white specs
What is the best place to get best Isonzo Braun paint, i know that ral8008 is thr closest match but it seems too dark to me(I'm a bitt colorblind but for red blue and green lol) Armyzdar does not send to most of thr countries. And what type of modern paint can be best replacement because no one makes boiled lineseed oil enemal anymore....
It's got a canvas strap and some canvas in the liner, the rivet on top is what throws me off, it's also got this strange remnant of something being on it, it is not textured like most American doughboy helmets
Reconstruction of Kalmyk/Oirat spherocylindrical helmets, showing two views. Independently drawn by the uploader based on the published research and illustrations of L. A. Bobrov and Yuri Filipovich. The artwork was not traced from the cited illustrations.
It has the liner and chinstrap the earpieces, microphone, or visor though. Examples online usually don't have the liner, and the adjustment buckle on the chinstrap is stamped 00007.
Under the white paint there seems to be a camo.
I ride in the street/trails and found this on Amazon, would it be a good purchas?
Seller says its a fiberglass firemens stalhelm buy i cant find anything like it, he only wants 20 for the 2 so considering buying it
Hello all!
Recently got a good deal on some WWI helmet shells and thought I’d share them here.
Two of the helmets have markings from Thomas Firth & Sons while one has no stamps but appears to have Spanish written on the inside brim, which is pretty interesting.
I’m also wondering what the story is with the blue paint on the first one. Only time I’ve seen blue Brodie helmets is when worn for RAF service.
Any clue what else it could be?
Cheers! 🍻
This helmet was acquired In Italy about 15 years ago. Can anyone shed some light on it?
Bought this helmet for $40 at a yard sale is it worth it? The emblem has shifted (not sure what it means exactly) and the internal webbing is in great shape also came with chin strap.
I have this what I presume to be Canadian ww2 mark 2 brodie helmet in a post war paint scheme on the outside of the shell. There is a what I presume to be a ww2 era coat of paint on the inside of the helmet. I want to know how can I get rid of and preserve the paint inside. Some advice to stripping the outside layer while preserving the ww2 layer would be helpful. Thanks
Hey Guys I’ve had this helmet in my collection for a while now and haven’t got round to doing much research on it .
The story goes it is a British made Mk1 reissued to the US Navy some time between 1941 1942 before the introduction of the M1 ,it apparently served on the USS Raven a costal minesweeper that eventually saw action off the coast of Normandy in 1944 . It bears a vessels designation code however I’m unable to confirm whether or not this is USS Raven as MDC 55 doesn’t exactly match .If Anyone has more information on this I’d really appreciate it . Thanks in advance
This is a ww2 style m1 helmet I bought a while ago for 40 bucks at a yard sale I was wondering how much I could possibly sell it for at an antique mall that is more of a pawn shop for older/newer stuff.
I just watched Platoon and throughout the movie, when I saw Chris Taylor’s helmet I looked at the helmets chinstrap and I was wondering if he was issued a wwii helmet because the khaki chinstrap.
