Which scope and mount?

Hello:

I have an H004 with the octagon barrel and want to mount a scope. the website shows 2 different mounts: cantilever or picatinny. Looks like either would work. My range has 100 yard targets. Could you recommend me a scope and mount?

Ranger Point Pewview

Has anyone installed the ranger point precision pewview on a 44 and had this gap between the rail?

1200 Yards with a Henry Supreme in 6 ARC

I bought a converted Henry Supreme in 6 ARC and honestly didn’t expect to like it this much.

Shot it to 1200 yards this weekend. Wicked gun.

Originally I was debating between 5.56 and .300 Blackout, but after shooting the 6 ARC setup I kind of get why people are so obsessed with this cartridge now. Recoil is light, stays flatter than expected, and it absolutely smacks at distance. Anyone else shooting distance with these?

What surprised me most is how well the lever platform worked with 6 ARC, some voodo magic. The unit is from LINE49 Rifle, they’re doing barrel conversion kits for the Henry Supreme platform and apparently a lot of guys are going multiple calibers instead of buying separate rifles.

They offer the barrel swap/install - from what I’ve heard the first changeover can be a bit of a btch if you haven’t done one before and I wasn’t interested in trying it.

Now I’m sitting here wondering if I still need a .300BLK… or if 6 ARC already ruined everything else for me. Has anyone shot the .300BLK suppressed, what are your thoughts?

Just picked up my new .22 Magnum Henry!

Picked up my new Henry Classic Lever Action in .22WMR today and fired 50 rounds through it. Solid gun and tons of fun. Had to snag a photo of it next to another classic. A Marlin/Glenfield 60!

45 colt blowback. H10 big boy octagonal barrel

Shooting to different makes of ammo with different loads. The HSM 200gr loads have a bunch of blowback.

The Magtech 250gr is quite a bit less. I've read blowback is not uncommon for 45 colt.

Seems like a lot especially in the lighter, faster load. Pictures included. Opinions?

All weather 45-70

Anyone thread the barrel on the all weather 45-70? Was talking to a guy and he said it couldn’t be done because there isn’t enough room between the end of the barrel, mag tube and sight.

Henry H1 X 22LR

Have been looking forward to getting one of these since announced at Shotshow 2026.

Well I got one and am more disappointed in this rifle than any other rifle that I have ever purchased. Understanding this is a single experience with this specific copy , it is terrible suppressed (which is the only reason I wanted one).

At 25 yards with both CCI SV and Blazer ammo it was more like a shotgun with groups. I tried two different suppressors (Ryder SS and a Katan).

Without supressor it shot as well as I expected and was acceptable but that’s not the reason I got this. I already have a Marlin 39A.

If anyone has one let me know how yours is shooting suppressed. I’ll try a couple more ammo lots, but if this is what I can expect to get out of this…it’s garbage.

These groups were shot using a Lead Sled at 25 yards. I shot around 150 rounds between CCI SV and Blazer. Hate to bring out better match type ammo but will just to see.

Photos are at 25 yards without supressor and with.

Broken piece of metal - model x 44mag

Hello all,

I have a model x that a piece of broken metal fell out of the trigger well. I have attached photos of the piece. The rifle is about 4 years old and has about 300 rounds through it. Does anyone know what this piece is called and if there is an upgrade for it?

Thank you in advance for your time!

Trying the 03a3 sights

I have been using this m1 garand sight but it didn't look the best. Recently I fit this 03a3 sight with a file to a rail. I have this MAS 36 front hand guard I have fit to the rifle, but deciding the sight is going to decide the final cuts. I also just picked up a rear buttstock, but I'm not sure if it's possible to make it work. One m1 garand sight needed to be flattened. Now I realized it left a mark because it was curved.

Skinner sights for H12 Carbine

I just bought the .357/38 Spl H12 Protector carbine and feel like my buckhorn sights are shooting super high. I have been aiming at the 6 o'clock position on the target to get it near the center.

I am thinking of getting a skinner peep sight to use as a ghost ring, but not sure which one would fit the receiver.

I also want to get a fiber optic front sight, but not sure what the barrel contour is. The only Henry skinner front sights seem to be dovetail and mine is a screw on.

Anyone have any advice?

Henry supreme 5.56

Any recommendations on a muzzle device? And how am I supposed to torque to spec? Does an AR15 bev block work?

Henry H9 Protector Questions

I’m liking some of the specs of the newer H9 Protectors…specifically the weight…under 7lbs with wood furniture.

Has Henry addressed or fixed the issue they were having with the 360 Buckhammers? I seem to remember some people saying they were having accuracy issues with some of the H9 Classics…potentially barrel issues, I don’t recall exactly.

I’ve been thinking about getting a shorter barreled, light(ish) weight lever for hunting a mountainous area of western/central Pennsylvania…basically a somewhat long hike up a steep mountain side and it levels out into a ridgeback that runs for miles. The terrain goes up and down, left and right so average shots in that area are under 100 for sure (there’s probably some open woods shots that could be more but I’d be worried about all of the branches and stuff I can’t see with my eyes).

The other side of this is a lightweight bolt action but I prefer a lever. I’m about 2 hours east of Pittsburgh so I was thinking about a straight wall over something like a 30-30 because I believe there are some areas out there that you can only use straightwall cartridges…then obviously Ohio isn’t all that far away either, although I might not ever hunt either area…I haven’t heard anything bad about the Buckhammer cartridge

Let me know if I’m on the right track or if I should be looking elsewhere, thanks!

henry big boy brass 357

What do you guys think a used big boy brass in 357 with no side gate is worth? Cant really use anything that I have found online as most of the used guns are on gunbroker and I know that most asking prices are high.

The condition of the gun is a few scratches on the end plate and near the end of the barrel, but no big scratches or gouges anywhere. Wood is in excellent condition, but the finish on the lever seems to be coming off. Honestly dont know why as I have always cleaned the gun after shooting it.
