Park ranger might photographed us, why?

Canada
So, earlier this week, our vehicle was maybe photographed by a park ranger, which felt a bit odd. This happened early in the morning, right after we arrived at the trailhead to hike one of the trails.

Unfortunately, we didn't get back in time before the park ranger left to ask the ranger if something was wrong.

We’re wondering now if we might get a fine—in case we did something wrong. We’ve tried to find out whether fines are issued digitally or physically, but without success. That’s why I’m turning to you reddits for some guidance.

Thanks!

Canada hiking recommendations

I’ll be going to Canada in mid to late September and was curious to trails I should explore? I’ve heard Banff is very pretty with their blue crystal water lakes but I’ve also heard it’s basically turned into Disneyland how it’s so crowded all the time. Should I go elsewhere or just find longer trails or different times to explore Banff?

Recommendations for group hiking tours in Kluane or Tombstone?

Super interested in doing my first hiking trip in the Yukon, but since it was my first time there I thought I would try a group hiking trip

I am flying into Whitehorse, and hoping to do Tombstone in August, but can't seem to find a good group tour to go with.

Ruby Range looked perfect but said they are unlikely to actually do a tour in Tombstone because of a lack of interest, Terra Boreale is outside of my budget, YU Squatch is full. I can't find any recommendations for Sea to Sky Expeditions and heard they changed ownership last year, so not sure whether they are worth the investment.

Please let me know if you have any recommendations. Thanks

LaCloche Silhouette trail water access

What is water access like on the LaCloche trail? I’ve done it many years ago and don’t really recall. I think I remember long sections at the top of the loop with poor access (either too high up to get at easily or swampy)? Any insight is appreciated!

Tick risk on Quebec national park trails - worth treating clothes with permethrin?

I will be sticking to the trails, but should I be wary and treat my clothes with permetherin?

First time going to the national parks, so I'm not familiar with the state of the trails. Will I be brushing up against plants/vegetation?

Looking for outdoorsy people in the GTA, Ontario? Come hike with us!

Hey! Putting this out there for anyone in the GTA who wants to get outside more but doesn't love doing it solo.

We're a pretty laid-back group that does weekend day hikes around Ontario (mostly GTA atm), plus some car camping trips to reach the further/better trails. All experience levels welcome whether you've been hiking for years or just bought your first pair of boots.

Personally, I'm hoping to push past car camping this year and try some more ambitious trips, longer routes, backcountry, that kind of thing. So if you've been wanting to level up your outdoor stuff and need people to do it with, let's go!

Drop a comment or message me and I'll get you added to the group!
