The problem is that all my computers run Linux (mostly Arch), but I've noticed that the Hik-Connect website requires an app, and it's only available for Windows. Are there any ways I can stream my cameras without setting up a Windows VM?

Maybe someone has dealt with this before: on a Hikvision TandemVu camera (the one with dual lenses, panoramic and PTZ). I can't figure out why, despite correctly configuring Intrusion and Line Crossing detection on the panoramic lens and enabling the rules/events for recording in Milestone, nothing happens. I’ve already checked the basic settings on the camera, including Linkage method. Any tips?

A brand new hikvision asking for password? isn't that supposed to be asking you to set a password manually? is this normal?

I have a Hikvision DVR iDS-7208HTHI-M2/S and want to install a cable-free camera (Wi-Fi camera). Which type is suitable for this DVR? I prefer Hikvision, but if not, then another type is okay.

I have a Hikvision system on my home with some external cameras and an internal Ax Pro Wireless Alarm Kit and Ax Pro Wireless PIR Camera that overlooks my living area and kitchen. Currently the company that installed this equipment has access to it via the internet. The internal camera can enable remote viewing and the taking of snapshots.

I sometime walk naked around my house, including the area overlooked by the camera. I am concerned that I may be monitored by people from the security company.

Can I take measures to prevent this, without completely removing their access from the system? I would prefer that they retain some access so that if something goes wrong when I am travelling, they can take remote action, or disarm the system so people can enter the house.

In my haste I enabled DHCP to add the doorbell to Hik Connect app and have now subsequently lost the ability to view and alter anything via 192.0.0.65. Will I require the SADP tool to view this, and will this pick up the doorbell through the POE switch it has to be plugged into?

My uncle shared our Hik-Connect CCTV access with our manager before, but now the manager has gone on leave and probably won’t be coming back.

Do we only remove device sharing or should we also change passwords?

My NVR is constantly beeping, I dont have the pattern/password to enter it.

I sent an email with QR code and XML from the SADP tool to support.eu@hikvision.com but I never got a reply.

In the meantime i turned it off because of the constant beeping, then I read it has to stay on.

Did they never reply because it didn't stay on or some other reason? That was a couple of weeks ago.

I am managing the device remotely (it's on the second floor), I was using IE tab with chrome but it has it disadvantages* and risks in my opinion and IE tab is asking for a new IETabhelper.exe install and I am fed up with it.

Still no solution in mid 2026? My firmware is 4.3.210 but my device DS-7108HQHI-K1 is 5 years old maybe, there is no more updates for it.

I wish there was a way to click an icon on desktop and browser open immediately to feeds the way I saved them, with higher quality, I need this to catch a moving car or something before leaving my view, I don't want to deal with the annoying playback.

*The biggest disadvantage in IE tab is that I can't save login password, maybe it is behind a paywall or something.

I tried to setup a hikvision app on an old smart box to use an old monitor for always on setup but for some reason the feeds didn't work correctly, I found a very simple free app that worked but it lacked many features, tried to modify it with AI and failed, also the chinese smart box turned out to be sketchy and stopped using it.

Can you tell me what is your desktop setup if you have something light and extremly quick to start viewing?

there is this dvr that i have access to (and that i recently fixed) and every single time it reboots or loses power,, even before i repaired it due to a potentially related issue, it forgets all of its settings, requiring me or someone else to reconfigure it each time. i already have replaced the clock battery, and also reflashed the firmware, but to no avail. the dvr doesn't have a physical reset button, and at this point i'm not sure what it is. could it be a firmware-related problem? shouldn't be, because it's the official hikvision firmware straight from their website. it's a ds-7216huhi-f2/n 16-channel dvr.

Hi, Certainly not impressed by hikvision support, especially EU, Dach and UK. While uk replied promptly they rejected my password reset claiming its not their regional device. I informed that the support for my region aren't responding for weeks. So im locked down of my own device due to internal stupidity, greed and wrong sense of ownership by that corporate junk company.

Even the global online form did not work. What a waste of time!

I have recently moved house & it came with the hikvision camera around the outside of the house.

The previous owners have not been very helpful with getting us access, just gave me the number of the person who installed them originally.

If possible I would rather try and do it myself. Any advice on where to start?

I need help with some facial recognition terminals to make ISAPI remoteCheck works properly. I achieved it on one model, but cant make it on other models / firmwares. Can somebody help me diagnose this?

Currently running a 128 channel DS 96128. It was linked to hik connect but I unbounded troubleshooting an issue. Did a rebind and all good

however...Only shared with one user at the time, but that user I can no longer add. It says sharing is done. I can add a new user no issue.

Any insight on how to get a previously shared user back?

I have to back up approximately 35 cameras over a 6 week period. Just wondering what the best way to do it would be. Thanks
