Hi, I have a Hikvision DS-7608NXI-K1 NVR and nobody seems to remember the admin password
I opened the unit to check, but there’s no physical reset button inside. I also tried the password recovery option through SADP and exported the Device Feature Code file.
I sent that file to Hikvision EU support, but they basically told me that since I’m an end user, I need to contact my service provider/installer. The problem is that I don’t have one. I also don’t have the original invoice anymore, so that route is pretty much dead.
I tried the TFTP firmware recovery method as well( both directly and through a switch), with different firmware versions and different TFTP tools, but I couldn’t get it to work.
So now I’m stuck with an NVR that I physically have, but can’t access. From what I’ve seen, some installers/service providers charge a ridiculous amount just to unlock/reset these things, sometimes a big part of what the device is even worth.
Has anyone here actually managed to reset one of these without going through the original installer?
Any help would be appreciated, because Hikvision support was basically a dead end.
