[FOR HIRE] Your sensitive fiction ghostwriter

I spent eight years in game design before I moved into writing full-time. That background does something specific to how I build stories. I think about structure the way architects think about load-bearing walls. The reader never sees it. But they feel it when something lands right.

I write romance. I write fantasy. I write dark themes.. By the way, if you need a PERSONAL, made-for-you erotic story or fanfic... you'll be amazed at what we end up with.

Samples

different genres, different feels.
Just read whichever sounds closest to your project:

YA Dark Paranormal Romance - dual POV, slow and layered

Dark Fantasy Romance (sample 1 + sample 2 Explicit sexual content, primal/rough)

Wolf Shifter - Alpha POV, more genre, fast read

Dragon Shifter outline - three chapters, urban contemporary, sports setting
(if you need outlines)

Beta reading - let's talk, it depends on what you've got.

No pressure to have everything figured out. If you have an idea, even a half-formed one - DM me with one sentence about your project... even if it's just a genre and a vibe. That's enough to start.

Top-tier writing at a rock-bottom price.

[For Hire] Fiction, Fantasy, Game Content - Atmospheric Writer with a Background in Psychology ($0.10/word)

The song played low on the radio. The crackling sound a sweet companion to the blacktop ahead. The sun was a brilliant orange upon that blue horizon. Through a kaleidoscope window where the horizon stretched endless we drove on.

Hey, y'all. I am AshfallWrites!

I am a fiction and fantasy writer, specializing in the architecture of the surreal. My work focuses on giving characters meanings, on letting the plot breathe, letting the agenda build naturally as the story progresses. Unreliable narrators, existential dread, surreal loops of fiction, a love story that inhibits a world that feels like the town five miles down that dirt road at the end of the lane – I love creating worlds that people fall in love with. That people can curl up with, beside the hearth of a dying fire.

Portfolio & Past Work (along with ToS)here

THE OFFERS

  • Academia based Insights: As a researcher in life with a background in Psychology, I bring a clinical level of detail to mental states, trauma narratives, and characters that feel organic, real.
  • Atmospheric Prose: I prioritize mood and sensory world-building. I do not just write plots; but craft environments to linger in the subliminal.
  • Surrealist Edge with a Touch of Romance: Because let's be real, who does not yearn to immerse themselves in reality-bending concepts, where characters break time in order to save their chosen one, or even incur the pleasures of the flesh upon a moonlit edge of the Abyss.
  • Game Content (Quest & Lore): Wanna see your world expanded like Elden Ring, want players to be fully enthralled by a questline akin to the Baron's questline. Or maybe you're creating something truly unique and you want a writer who understands the importance great characters can have that translates your world into something grander (cought Silksong, Expedition 33 cough). Whatever the reason, however the need, I am there to help you!
  • World Bible: Want to see your world taking shape? I design intuitive and sprawling world bibles which would expand the rules of the universe you imagined! This includes aspects of the foundation of the story, such as: Core Mythos & Lore, the Sandbox (setting of the world), Factions and System Mechanics, and many more, all packaged into one highly accesible format.
  • Literary Pleasure Reading: Writing pieces of content that makes a reader blush pretty red on a train ride, or make them sigh in pleasure beside a fireside in a log cabin, I consider to be one of the most accomplished sentiments of mine as an author. Be it straight or LGBTQ+, I write for all.

PRICING

  • Short Stories (Fantasy/Fiction or Otherwise): $0.10/word (for a 1000 word story it would be $100).

Hiring: Instagram Carousel Writer For Estb Channel - $0.12-0.17 based on experience

Hi I'm looking for an Instagram carousel writer who has experience writing great story-based posts focused on niche topics (female topics, family, children, moms, psychology, self improvement). My audience is mostly women, so I'm looking for a female writer (sorry guys!) who knows how to write in a strong, emotional, meaningful way.

NO AI. I don't care if it's used for research but I don't want to notice hints of AI in the final text.

I'd like to start at $0.12 per word but am willing to pay $0.17 for someone who can show me a strong portfolio of what I'm looking for. We'd generally want 25 carousels a month. Half payment up front, half on delivery. Our page is large and established so I am also willing to add commission to the rate on top of the standard payment when I hire longer term and get good performance.

Once we have experience with you, we'd likely give you our other social channels to write for as well (Linkedin, Youtube scripts).

AGAIN, NO AI WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THOSE.

Please list your portfolios. I can't accept any submissions without writing samples.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

One last time... NO AI.

Help Writing a Horror/Thriller Short

The goal for this project is to take a much bigger story I'm developing and whittle a segment of it down to a short story that I can build around and eventually adapt as a screenplay.

I have the full story outlined already and have a good sense of which aspect lends itself best to the short story format piece, but am open-minded and good with hearing feedback or brainstorming to make sure I get that right.

I'm looking to work with an experienced and authentic voice who gets the genre and has conviction that they are right for this particular project.

Ideal scenario:

  1. You have published pieces that I can view online or in docs specific to the thriller and/or horror genres
  2. You are US-based (I am in Los Angeles)
  3. You are willing to sign an agreement if we work together that affirms no part of your work produced in this project leverages AI or LLMs
  4. BONUS if you are a true crime junkie and understand that culture

If this sounds like a good match please DM me with a confirmation that all of those first 3 conditions are true, and a link where I can read some of your work.

When I feel like I've found a match, I'll pay $60 for a two page test run (~500 to 600 words) of the story. You can write from any point in the story's outline that you think resonates best with your style.

If that pilot is aligned, we can negotiate what the complete job costs and go from there but the $0.07-0.12 rate range mandated for this community is in budget.

Any questions can be posted as replies or you can just DM me as well.

I’m Obscura. I offer very affordable rates, a detailed and immersive writing style, and I'm open to all kinks you can imagine (as long as no minors are involved). I've been doing this for over a decade and have kept clients happy since day one on this platform. We build a great working relationship, and I bring your wildest ideas to life. I'm also well-versed in more common themes like BDSM, incest, feet, cuckolding, power dynamics, romance, femdom and maledom. I can do all types of characters and pairings.

Got Scammed/Ghosted After Delivering the Content | My Frustration is at Peak!

I got ghosted by a client without getting paid for the three articles I did for him.

For context, I got a client from this group. He was looking for a writer, so I reached out to him. He asked to move the conversation to Discord or Telegram, and we continued there.

Now I know I should have asked for a full or partial advance payment first before kicking off the project. But I was just an idiot. In my 5 years of writing experience, this is the first time something like this has happened to me. The articles amounted to around $280. I don’t care too much about the money, but am just frustrated by not getting a text back, even though I see him active/online every other day.

Anyway, is there a way to get paid? Alternatively, I’m thinking to post those articles on my Medium. What do y'all suggest?

Edit: I've realized I should mention the client's name so everyone can be aware of. His username on Reddit is: Successful-Lead954 and on Discord: digital_dan

I have screenshots of our conversation which I can post if need be.

What I could do better to add more value.

I write long-form blog posts for B2B SaaS, especially in the cybersecurity and data automation domains.

My clients provide me with only primary keywords.

Here is my workflow:

  1. I set my VPN to a U.S. location (they target the US location), google those keywords, and analyze all of the top 50 ranking articles.
  2. When I scan the ranking articles, I take notes on what they have missed and what they have done well. I then find a unique angle for the article to ensure that the content I write is better than what is already available.
  3. I find secondary keywords and FAQs using Ubersuggest and create an outline for the client using a template. I also create a Clearscope report to write the content; I always beat my competitors' scores in my articles.
  4. When it comes to writing, I treat all headings as if they are questions and answer them in the first paragraph. I then build out the rest of the section. I do this to optimize for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).
  5. I handle everything else that is expected, such as writing unique content and adding visuals.

Please tell me what else I can do to improve my workflow and provide more value. I’m feeling pressure because of AI, and I don’t want to lose my clients.

Keep in mind that I charge $120 per 1,000 words, so any suggestions should reflect this rate.

I cannot afford to hire a designer to create visuals; currently, I use Napkin AI and Gemini for that. I also cannot invest in costly SEO or AI tool subscriptions, as that would exceed my budget. I already pay for Clearscope report. I find that it is useful as many of my articles rank on the first page.

[Hiring] Writer for Vintage Public-Domain Story Adaptations - $50 Flat Fee

Hello Amazing Writers!

Update: All Out and a Discord on the side...

For the moment, all of the current story assignments have been claimed. I am working through messages, payments, story files, and project notes now, so thank you for your patience as I get everything organized.

I have also set up a Discord for the project so writers and project updates can be kept in one place:

https://discord.gg/rFqtV3APC

Please be patient with the Discord as I get it fully set up. This is my first time building a server, so I am learning as I go, adding channels, rules, story information, payment notes, and project materials step by step.

If more stories or additional funding become available, I will post another update. Thank you again for the kindness, enthusiasm, and creativity you have all brought to this. I am excited to see these old stories get a new life.

***

This community has been a wonderful place to find creative talent, so it feels right to return here for a new little adventure.

A small amateur library film group made up of young filmmakers is currently learning the craft of moviemaking. The group has acquired some wonderful old film equipment, including donated vintage Cine-Kodak Special II cameras, and would love to create a handful of short films using them.

To help make that happen, writers are being sought to adapt a few public-domain stories into short, filmable scripts.

The group’s main focus is learning how to use the cameras, experimenting with staging, and exploring old photoplay techniques. We would really like these projects to feel “professional” in terms of storytelling, while still being amateur in spirit and execution. Bringing in writers allows us to give proper attention to the scripts while also commissioning creative people and making this a more collaborative effort from the start.

This is a very small, passion-driven project, so full transparency is important: the total writing budget is $200, with the hope of commissioning five short scripts at $50 each. I am trying to secure a small additional Grant to raise the budget. For now, the offer is $50 per script.

It is understood that this is not a large budget, and that the length and scope of each script should be fair to the writer. There is no expectation of a full feature or even a long short script for $50. The goal is a compact, complete story with a beginning, middle, and end — something filmable, creative.

Writers are encouraged to help determine what length feels fair for the budget and effort. Quality matters far more than page count.

The stories are vintage public-domain pieces from the 1920s. A source story and complete summary will be provided. Writers may choose whichever title sparks their imagination:

Grand Slam — Polo, high society, fast mallets, sports action, mystery, or even a heist.

Rough Water — Boat racing, crashing waves, suspense, and open-water danger.

The Sky-Riding Kid — Air racing, aviation adventure, period drama, or thriller.

Gilhooley — Auto racing, burning rubber, underdog comedy, or high-speed character drama.

The Thirteenth Jump — Steeplechase, danger, suspense, and horse-racing drama.

Because these stories originate from the 1920s, they may include outdated themes, attitudes, or ideas. Thoughtful adaptation choices that make the material work better for modern audiences are welcome.

What is being looked for:

- Writers who love story, character, and atmosphere

- People who enjoy adapting older material

- Clear, filmable scenes

- A beginning, middle, and end

- Strong pacing

- A collaborative, down-to-earth attitude

- Passion more than formal credentials

Film school training or a large résumé is not required. A love of storytelling and the ability to shape an old story into something young filmmakers can realistically shoot is what matters most.

This is work-for-hire. By accepting payment, writers agree that the final adapted material may be used for the film project. Writing credit will be given if the project moves forward into production or public presentation.

If interested, please DM at:

  1. Which story title is most appealing
  2. What length or scope you could write

Let’s make some old-fashioned movie magic and give these young filmmakers something wonderful to shoot!

American Fallout Scriptwriter Wanted ASAP

so I'm hiring for something kinda specific right now and figured I'd throw it out there

I need American scriptwriters, like actual native English speakers based in the US, to write scripts for YouTube videos about Fallout, we're talking 10-30 minute videos diving into the lore, characters, factions, mysteries, all that good stuff that the community is into

this isn't a "knows Fallout exists" type gig, you gotta be an actual fan, someone who's put hours into the games and gets the humor and the vibe of it, cause the scripts need personality and jokes and storytelling, not some robotic wikipedia summary, and definitely no AI-generated scripts, we'll know, trust me

requirements real quick, gotta be based in the United States, native English speaker, dedicated Fallout fan with solid knowledge of the franchise, good at deep research and fact-checking, strong storytelling with personality and humor, high availability with fast turnaround, and your grammar needs to be on point

pay is $15 per 100 words, and on top of that we also do a referral bonus, $50 for every writer you refer that ends up getting hired, so once you're in, you're more than welcome to post about the gig yourself and have people apply through you, and whoever applies mentioning you, you get that $50 per person, pretty solid way to stack a little extra on the side ngl

now please don't send some generic copy-paste application, I'll know and I'll skip right past it lol, to actually be considered send me:

1-2 writing samples that are similar in style to those reference channels, your typical turnaround time for a 4,000 word script, a quick rundown of how you do your research process, your favorite Fallout game and why (curious to see what people say here ngl), and your current location, city and state

if you're interested and want a quick response, add me on Discord: ymagic.hiring

drop your stuff in the comments or DM me too, looking forward to seeing what y'all got

Hiring YouTube Scriptwriter (Scams / Financial Disasters / Documentary / Comedy)

Looking for a scriptwriter for a faceless YouTube channel focused on: scams / fraud, financial disasters, bizarre loopholes, “infinite money”, absurd true stories, corporate collapses

Think:

Internet Historian (chaotic escalation)

Jack Pockets (simple, easy-to-digest pacing)

What I need:

strong hooks in the first 20–30 seconds

high-retention writing

escalation-based storytelling

humor / dark comedy

simple language

ability to make complex stories entertaining

Requirements:

portfolio or previous samples

YouTube writing experience preferred

documentary / storytelling experience preferred

scam / finance / business niche experience is a plus

Test process:

Stage 1 (free): Small intro test (100 max words)

Stage 2 (paid): Full script test ($250, 1000 words)

Long-term: Typically $400–500+ per script.

Potentially higher for strong writers who understand retention and require less editing.

To apply send:

Portfolio / samples

Channels you’ve written for (if any)

Why you think you fit this style

Dm directly if you think you're a good fit.
