Ethos Review

Ethos is worth trying if you want matched AI training work instead of applying everywhere

I signed up a couple of weeks ago and the thing that stuck out is that you don't apply to individual gigs one by one. You fill out one general application, they ask about your background and skills, and then they match you to projects that fit your profile. Way less exhausting than juggling ten different dashboards.

Work is mostly the usual LLM stuff — ranking responses, writing prompts, eval tasks. Pay seems decent for the niche, but availability depends on your profile. The matching part is genuinely the best part; you don't waste time scrolling through stuff you're not qualified for.

Downside: it can take a few days to get matched to your first project, so don't expect immediate tasks. But if you're already doing this kind of work on the side, it's worth adding to your rotation.

If you want to try it, here's my the Link to Ethos

Is Outlier AI legit?

The short answer

Outlier AI is legit. It's operated by Scale AI (one of the largest data-labeling companies in the world) and pays contributors weekly via PayPal for rating, ranking, and correcting AI model outputs. The most common complaint online isn't scam-related — it's that project availability isn't steady.

How it works

You sign up, complete a 30–90 minute assessment in your chosen domain (writing, coding, math, or a language), and once approved, tasks appear in your dashboard. Rates depend on the project — generalist chat work usually pays $15–$25/hr; senior coding and PhD-level STEM projects reach $40–$50/hr. Pay is calculated per completed task and sent every Monday.

Pros

  • +Backed by Scale AI — payouts are reliable
  • +No invite required, open sign-up
  • +Higher rates ($40–$50/hr) for coding, math & specialists
  • +Weekly PayPal payments, no minimum

Cons

  • −Task volume fluctuates — some weeks are quiet
  • −Assessment can take 60–90 minutes with no pay
  • −Communication from platform is minimal

Red flags to watch for

The real Outlier only recruits through outlier.ai. If someone messages you on Telegram, WhatsApp, or Instagram claiming to be from Outlier — it's a scam. Outlier never asks for payment, crypto, or gift cards.

Our verdict

Outlier AI is a legitimate way to earn money training AI. Like every platform in this space, task availability fluctuates — sign up for 2–3 platforms so you always have work.

Is my Website design better compared to a week ago?

Hello, The last few days I have been requesting feedback (and still am) on some subreddits. I used the feedback to update the design of my website and would like to hear your opinions if there is anything else I could do to lower the bounce rate. The website is basically an AI training/annotating job board with guides on how to pass assessments, etc. The first screenshot is my old design, and the second one is the new design. Anyways, here is the link: aiannotationjobs.com

I got tired of being rejected, so I made a website that only lists legit AI training jobs.

The last few months I found it annoying finding the right AI training/annotating jobs with a decent acceptance rate. Long story short, I made my own website that only lists legit listings with good acceptance rates. Any feedback would be appreciated!: https://aiannotationjobs.com
