Hoop size for off-body hooping only?

So if I'm breaking any rule, apologies in advance.

I have never done hoopinf before and it turns out I can't due to a spinal issue. Did some research and read that I could still do off body hopping which didn't involve moving my hips & spine. I wanted to know from people who actually do it whether this would be a safer alternative and what size would I need if I'm not going to move the hoop with my hips.

Thank you

Best grip tape options and brands?

Ive actually never bought grip tape for my past hoops as my friend had some extra for the hoop ive used for years but I just purchased and started playing with my new 29" polypro hyperion hoop and definately wanna buy some grip tape but am not sure what brands and such are the best investment for grip tape for an led polypro hoop so id love opinions!

How far into hooping do I need to be before its appropriate to go to a hoop jam?

I just got into hooping last week, im a flat out beginner who knows no tricks yet, and theres a weekly hoop jam at a park near my place. I really want to go, but im not sure how skilled I need to be before I can go. I know these are like "everyone is welcome" type events afaik but would it be weird for someone who doesnt know what theyre doing that much to be there? I dont want to make anyone feel like they have to teach me or anything, and I dont want to be a burden on people's time by being way under everyone else's skill (ill be honest I dont even know how hoop jams work so idek if im pverthinking the right things lol). Any advice is welcome, thanks!

Beginning advice

Hello! So I just joined this group, I’m sure you get post like this a lot. I’ve been super inspired recently by the idea of hooping (shoutout @Happycallan on instagram!!) and just want a general outline of how to begin!
I’m somebody who has very very little rhythm but lovesss the idea of dancing, I just struggle knowing what to do with my limbs, and I feel as though having an object like a hoop would super help with overall confidence yk? I guess first I wonder if it’s better to begin by learning specific tricks, or just trying to flow with whatever song and then implement tricks later?
I don’t even have a hoop at the moment, at first I was thinking of just getting a hula hoop at the dollar store since it’s closest and cheap, but I heard it was best to start with a much heavier hoop to get a better feel, where would be a good place to find that? Thank you so much in advance for any advice, sorry if this is too much at once haha
Once again shoutout to Callan Rose on instagram, I looove love her style of both fashion but also hooping/dancing and love the music she chooses to flow to and has been a huge inspo!!
