Dear Guerrilla, no one, absolutely no one asked for this.

While Joris de Man, who composed the original soundtrack for Zero Dawn, left a sing in my heart, some credits should be given to Oleksa Lozowchuk. The In the Flood song for the Forbidden West openings credits always gives me goosebumps.

Anyone else find themselves imagining other American cities in Horizon’s post Faro plague world?

New York at least for me is at the top of my list of places i would love for Guerrilla to do.

Anyone else have another city they’d like to mention?

One of the things the writers, production, and Ashly Burch (Aloys Actress) really nailed is getting the atmosphere of this game right. I have never ever in my life cared so much about a character that I'm not playing, but essentially joining her on an adventure.

Aloy is unlike any other main protagonist I've ever played. She speaks to you while you're out in the wilderness, trying to solve puzzles, or trying to defeat a machine.

In my humble opinion I have played Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, and felt a connection with this character more as a companion and a friend (is that the right word???) than I have any other character I've played. That is one of the most powerful aspects of these games, because she's smart. Smarter than me. That much is certain. I like that.

Could the progression of Aloy crafting or finding her special / unique gear & tools been handled better?

Mostly, I think the overall worldbuilding was done very well. Game 1 introduced the MC; her skills, personality, thought process, etc. and set the stage for the overarching conflict.

Game 2 gave depth to that conflict, and broadened/expanded the world for Aloy. However, this is where I feel there's a shortcoming - she made, found, or received all her special gear in one game.

I'm not necesarily saying Avad should have gifted her the Resonator Spear right off the bat, I just feel like she could have embraced her tinkerer side sooner, and made the Pullcaster earlier, instead of having all of it crammed into one game.

Moreover, I'm wondering how the special gear Aloy has/had in game 2 will be handled in game 3 (since development on said game hasn't started yet, this is an unknown). Should Horizon 3 happen (and please, PLEASE let it happen), there will undoubtedly be some new tool that she finds or makes. However, I'm wondering what will happen to all of the gear from game 2 - her spear is a key part of who she is, and is irreplaceable.

Will she set aside the shieldwing, now that the Tenakth civil war is over?

What will happen to the rest of it?

I just feel it'd be strange for her to start from scratch, seemingly ignoring the circumstances or events that led to her making each specific tool.

What are y'alls thoughts?

Does anyone ever side with Drakka? I’ve played a few times but ultimately never do.

Currently replaying for the third time, and wanted to share one of my minor pet peeves!

Given how much worldbuilding was given to the Tenakth body paint as being linked to achievements and feats of battle, it really irks me that the Tenakth armours come with preset body paint. It feels like Aloy is just larping as Tenakth - it’s weirdly disrespectful of their culture. And lets face it, she shouldn’t have the same body paint as random Tenakth villager B, given everything she accomplishes.

Imagine if you could choose your body paint separately from the armour, similarly to the face paint but with a modular system. If you could unlock and combine new patterns or upgrade existing ones based on story progression, arena progression, number of machines destroyed and so on, you could end up with some really cool & unique Aloy designs when combined with different armours.

It would be a cool way to tie Aloy’s reputation into the game more diegetically - rather than having everyone in the world just magically have heard of her. Word wouldn’t spread THAT easily. Tenakth would greet her warily but accep her initially, but the more paint she’s earned, the more they respect or even revere her.

Still love the game, but just wish this had been implemented as an actual system!
