I keep reading about the tamarian armor from bram but I don’t see it. Did I accidentally sell it early on bc I misunderstood that base defense isn’t everything?

I’m level 7 so still pretty new and I’ve been going off of the base defense number and hardly looking at the specifics underneath. I just learned that’s the most important of armor and read tamarian armor is the best around tbis point. I fast traveled to him but don’t see anything in his shop. I just got the game for 4$ on steam so I’m not sure if it even includes this dlc, but I thought that most Witcher 3 dlc is free? Is there a glitch or do I misunderstand how this game works with dlc?

If you’ve struggled to get into the Witcher 3 for years on console, and haven’t tried it on deck, I highly recommend it

I got Witcher 3 with my ps4 in 2015 and really tried to get into it, but it just didn’t click with me. Over the last decade, every few years I’d boot up the game, give it another go, and still felt lost or out of touch with it. A lot of this had to do with the ui I think. The other day I saw it was only 3$, decided it’s time to give it another go, and this time it clicked for me. The menus dont feel as overwhelming to look at, you can customize the hud and text size, and most of all I think it’s the most visually impressive game I’ve seen on the steamdeck. I did change a few settings to make it look a bit crispier knowing it’ll sacrifice battery life, but holy shit it looks insane.

I keep wandering around randomly just to admire the visual spectacle of this game in your hands and finding good loot. Seriously if you’re looking for a game with good graphics that doesn’t dip in frame rate, this game is perfect!!! I am absolutely stunned rn

Today I had a house organizer/declutterer help clean and organize our space. I think Lfrith accidentally fell over and she put her back together incorrectly but I actually love it and think it looks so sick and kept it this way

I made a build with my fav abilities to use and also have max stats! (Except luck)

If I could time travel to 2011, I’d make my kid’s self brain explode! I also only had a little over 50% of the missions done when I started using it today so I’m having a blast spamming my fav to use abilities, one shotting everything, and using aerial drain to heal whenever I need a little hp. High jump is one of my fav abilities to use and that’s the main reason why I made aerial drain my means to heal

I beat Minerva on hard difficulty today after three days of trying, trying again, learning her move set, and slowly perfecting a build. This achievement means something incredibly special to me that I’ll explain

When I was a kid, I loved RPG’s like Final Fantasy. I loved seeing big numbers come up when I attacked. I loved sprawling epic worlds. I loved the payoff of a good build. The only issue was that I didn’t understand how to do any of that properly.

I’d see other people play them and be incredibly overpowered and I wanted to be like them. I’d get an RPG and try to get through it but could never totally figure out how to utilize its systems well enough to beat the game. I had played Final Fantasy three on the DS, and looking back, that was definitely a very difficult game for a kid to play, but honestly, I couldn’t even get to the hard parts because I would just give everyone a sword and I have no clue what I was doing. Then I got a PSP and played crisis score for the first time.. while I may not have made the most optimized build, with enough patience, and grinding I was able to beat it. I still remember quite vividly running into my older brother‘s room and telling him I beat it with so much excitement and joy.

that being said, the final boss wasn’t the most rewarding fight to me. It was beating Angeal for the first time that truly made me feel something i had never felt before in a video game. That was overcoming what felt like an impossible obstacle after days of practice and planning. I was on a beach trip with my family and I remember spending most of the time on that trip grinding levels or figuring out how to craft better materia. Then it was attempting Angeal over and over again, hoping to learn something new in every run to help my build and learn his attack patterns. I had never experienced something like that before, and rarely experienced it again.

A little over a week ago, I saw that crisis Crisis Reunion was on sale, and when I found out, it ran incredibly well on the steam deck I bought it. To me it’s a game that I much prefer playing on the go because it feels more nostalgic. I decided to play on hard difficulty because I wanted to re-experience the Angeal fight as a difficult obstacle to overcome. The only issue is that I have now played a majority of the Final Fantasy series, beaten several super bosses. I took him down first try with no issues. I was a little disappointed, but I figured it wasn’t going to be as hard as my first time beating it.

Then I spent most of my time after that figuring out how to make the most optimal build to finish all of the side missions that I never beat as a kid. If I remember correctly, the hardest mission I could beat was probably six stars maybe seven I’m not sure it’s hard to remember. After some research and grinding for dark matter, I was able to make a build with Max stats other than magic and luck. I had heard about Minerva for years and honestly, I assumed that she would be a little bit more difficult than all the side missions leading up to her. Boy was I wrong. the difficulty spike, especially on hard mode is insane. I was not expecting it all. Out of curiosity I bumped it down to normal and beat her first try. At first, I told myself that this is meant to be an enjoyable experience and if beating her was too frustrating and I’m not having fun then it’s not worth it. Then it hit me, isn’t this the same type of obstacle I was seeking in the first place similar to Angeal’s fight as a kid? I knew in that moment that I had to beat her for myself.

Looking back, it was a nearly identical experience. Sure I was a lot more knowledgeable about how to properly build a character, but at the end of the day I had to mentally push myself to problem solve and reevaluate my build in the same way I did as a kid. On paper it’s harder but relative to what my knowledge was at the time I played crisis score on the PSP, I am stretching my mind in the same way. It was try, learn, practice, refine my build, again and again. The thing that I figured out that was game changing for Minerva was SP master and grinding for SP to have an initial shield for the first part of the fight, and if and when she gets through it, I will have to carry myself to the end. Something I just realized while writing this is that one of the main issues I had with Angeal was not even considering my defense stats, and when I started focusing on vitality and spirit, it was the turning point for me.

So anyways, I thought this was a really cool experience I had with crisis core reunion and had to share. I basically forced myself to have the same experience with the same game over a decade later and I think that’s pretty neat.

Also now I can actually finish the story! I’m in chapter 6 with max stats which will be fun

Minerva on hard mode is a difficulty spike that’s ridiculous, but I’ve almost beaten her!

I grew up playing crisis core on the psp and loving it, but I didn’t understand how to optimize my build. Now I’m revisiting it on the steamdeck with crisis core reunion and I’m loving it. I could hardly get past 7 star difficulties as a kid. Now I’m clearing 10 stars one shotting nearly everything after spending a few days working on a build to get max stats and this is all on hard mode. I knew that Minerva would be more difficult but I didn’t expect this. Even with max stats and with what I thought was a well optimized load out with high jump and darkness, I realized it was time to go back the drawing board and have a load out just for her. I tried her on normal and easily got her first try and couldn’t believe the difference in difficulty.

I’ve basically arrived at the approach of using sp master and 10s of millions of sp to have some defense so it’s less punishing, and a Gil toss build that hits max damage per throw. Havent been able to figure out how to get every throw to do max damage without going into battle stance first though but that’s ok. I just farmed sp and Gil for an hour today after figuring out this build and on my first attempt I got her to 8 million health! Unfortunately I made a mistake though and by this point in the fight all my SP had been used up a couple minutes prior. It’s insane what this boss expects of you but I just wanted to share the progress! This brings me back to grinding for days on a beach trip just to beat Angeal in the story because I did not understand how to properly create a build. The feeling of reward though was an unforgettable experience for me and it feels like I’m reliving that again but with Minerva!

Also Is there a way to make Gil toss hit max 99,999 damage without going into battle stance first? I have max attack, 18 million Gil, mastered Gil toss, and genji glove to guarantee critical hits but it’s only close to the cap around 90k per hit

Can y’all help give some tips. Builds a work in progress can only complete 8 star missions

I feel like every farming guide I can find requires me to beat several 9 and 10 star missions. I guess my next goal should be to add vit + and spr + to some of this materia ?

u/tituspeetus — 13 days ago

I feel pretty stuck in this game with the missions and wondering what should be the best strategy for progressing materia stat boosts

I understand that you need equipment to break damage and hp and limits then use materia fusion to give +999% in hp, vit, and so on. my only issue is that farming things like dark matter require me to get to missions in the 6-6 category and I cant even get to the end of 6-3 without getting one shot. It feels like all the guides I can find are to become OP by farming from missions I can't even get to and don't really know where to begin to have a more powerful build without being too op if that makes sense. So in other words, if I want some stat boosts to my materia, what are some early game methods to do so even if it isnt the most op option, its getting me somewhere so I can survive through the higher tier missions

Hoping someone could help figure something out with getting over powered

So I grew up on this game and loved it in 4th grade on the psp. I got it for the steamdeck and decided to play it on hard mode to emulate the difficulty and reward I experienced from playing it as a kid. I knew that if I just played it on normal I wouldn’t struggle as much with bosses like Angeal and feel the rush of victory!

That being said I also know that as a kid I wasn’t the most savy with crafting materias that were that great. I definitely leveled them up but it was probably just a bunch of hp+++ materias and quake or firaga. Nothing as devastating as what I’ve seen other people do. So this time I decided to look up guides on how to become OP, and found a guide on exploiting magic pot as early as chapter 2 I believe or maybe it was 4. I decided though that I after seeing this guide take someone to max stats this early I would make the game a little too easy so maybe I’d come back to this exploit later. Then i unfortunately read a comment where someone said “don’t do mission _____ “ or else this won’t work

Now I feel stuck. I want to be OP for late game secret bosses but it sounds like the most popualr method to do so doesn’t work if ive done too many other side missions. What I would like to do is find out how to access some powerful materias but I don’t want to be so overpowered that the game becomes too much of a breeze. Will I still be able to be ridiculously overpowered if I just play the game however I want doing whatever side missions I’d like to? Hopefully my question makes sense about finding a path in the middle of these two options, and if so, what is a good guide that isn’t becoming OP early but instead late game? All the YouTube videos I see seem to be this one method in particular that only really works super early. Maybe I do part of the guide but not all of it?

Is this anyone’s cat? Found him behind my apartment stuck in an enclosed area and yelling for food. Gave him a can that he ate super quickly and now he’s glued to my side

I live near the skate park in north delridge

Found this super friendly cat stuck in an enclosed area behind my apartment. Definitely not a stray by how attached he is to me and none of the shelters will take him

I wish I could adopt him but 1. I can’t afford it and 2. My two cats tried to attack him when I tried to temporarily keep him inside before finding his owner. So now I’m hanging outside with him while I post everywhere to try and find his owner or figure out a way to rehome him. What’s difficult though is that Seattle shelters don’t take any strays or lost pets. They told me they could get in trouble if they adopted out someone’s indoor/outdoor cat. I took him to the vet and he’s not micro chipped and I’m pretty overwhelmed and not sure what to do. He’s an angel and deserves a loving him but finding an org that’ll help me do that has been difficult. Pretty much everywhere I’ve contacted told me that if a cat is found in Seattle city limits I have to take home to the Seattle animal shelter, but the shelter already said they can’t take him. They told me to just let him free, but when I tried doing that he just sat outside my door waiting for me and crying. I also don’t want to just give him away to a random stranger that messages me on Nextdoor. Who knows if they have the right intentions. Anyone have any advice?

Just finished Kiwami and want to share something I’m really proud of. Holy shit that was hard

Can’t believe how much harder that was than anything else in the game. I’ve only other played LAD and not really into beat em ups or fighting games. That’s why I played LAD first but I loved it so much I thought I’d try the first game. I loved it so much and about to start 0 and Kiwami 2. Just wanted to share this accomplishment! Also is it even possible to beat this dude in any other stance other than dragon and getting tiger drop timing down? It seems impossible to do it any other way and curious if anyone can do that. Honestly a little disappointed that was all I could do in that fight but still happy about the win!

Wanted to share something I’m super proud of as a newcomer

I’ve only played LAD, and about 1/4 of yakuza 0 but took a break from it and picked up Kiwami bc my gf started gaming again and I didn’t want to interrupt so I let her play the switch for now and picked up Kiwami on the steamdeck. I love this series so far and I think Kiwami is a fantastic game. Also an incredibly compelling story that feels short and sweet even though it’s not super short. I think the characters and the plot are so compelling. I am at the finale and about to start the point of no return in the story I just wanted to share my accomplishment of filling out all the trees! Didn’t realize how much of a grind this would be for the dragon tree but really enjoyed it!! Can’t wait to see the climax to this awesome game!

Wanted to share how much yen I’ve made in Kiwami 1 before finishing chapter 6

I love this game so much

I adore these games y’all

I played LAD a couple months ago. It was my first yakuza game and I adored it. Love turn based games in general, but the heart of the characters, sub story, and the small but living, breathing, vibrant, and goofy world blew me away. It was an experience that I truly can’t compare anything else to.

I knew I had to pick up another game soon but was pretty overwhelmed on where to start. A couple weeks ago I was at Best Buy on a trip and saw 0 was 24$ for the switch 2 and knew it was a sign to get it! Got to chapter 6, and racked up over 10 billion yen just playing the fuck out of that game. My gf has been on a hiatus from gaming and finally started playing games again on the switch and I didn’t want to interfere or have to wait for when to play 0 so in the meantime I decided to pick up Kiwami 1, and play it as she’s playing her current game and hopefully we’ll finish around the same time. If not I can just move onto Kiwami 2.

Honestly I’m kinda glad I’m seeing what happens to a lot of these characters because it completely changes how you experience 0. Knowing what I know now about Nishikiyama and Majima is gonna help me appreciate 0 a lot more so I’m actually glad things played out this way.

I am now absolutely in love with Kiwami 1, halfway through chapter 6, and I just can’t stop thinking about how much I love this game and every Yakuza game I’ve played so far. Even though I haven’t played much of this series, I can confidently say this series is in my top 5 favorite game series of all time. I’m sure the farther I get into these games it’ll probably be top 3. Why don’t more people talk about these games? I swear video games feel so soulless and empty now, and for awhile I thought it was because I played too many games, and I saw all that the medium had to offer, but these games challenged that belief. So frequently I’ll start a game and get halfway through tops, and completely lose the motivation to finish it.

I hope that more juggernaut gaming studios took notes from this studio. A small, but rich world filled with life in every turn easily beats a sprawling massive husk of a wasteland every time

Went to my neighborhood park today to play yakuza in my hammock after work (:

I love this game already and I’m only chapter 3. I think I just got an achievement for completing 10 sub stories as Majima and I haven’t even put the poor guy to sleep after he’s first introduced. It runs like a dream on switch 2!

My landlord is saying I need to reimburse him for a maintenance person coming out to fix an issue with the heater

Long story short there was a strange smell coming from heater when it turned on and bc we didn’t realize it was electric, we were concerned and asked someone to be sent out. Landlord got pissed and said “the sky is falling texts need to stop. I’ll come check it out myself.” When I stood my ground and said that we want to make sure we are safe he sent a maintenance person a couple days later.

The person found nothing wrong with the heater, however, they did find an old plastic spoon placed in the heater that might’ve been giving off the odor when it was turned on. it’s very strange a spoon was there, but it was definitely there before we moved in earlier this year bc of the amount of dust that was on it. Even the maintenance person said himself that the spoon doesn’t have to be melted to give off a strange odor. The frustrating thing about this spoon is that while it may have been giving off the smell, it’s hard to say for sure, and it is true that there was no issues with the heater itself malfunctioning. All that being said we did not place the spoon there.

A week has gone by and thought eveyrthing was settled, but today I get this text from my landlord saying I need to reimburse him for the visit. Of course I am frustrated but I also don’t want this to escalate into a fight where he tries to evict us. What should I do? Just pay the fee to get this over with and not risk our ability to stay here, or, do I challenge it?

I’m super exhausted and haven’t been able to sleep for more than 2 hours last night bc a friend needed a ride to the airport at 3 am. Ended up not being able to sleep when I got back home, went on a walk to tire myself, got back to bed sleepy then get this text as soon as I try to go to sleep. So sorry if there’s a lot of grammar mistakes or im sounding unreasonable. I’m just absolutely exhausted
