Looking for a friendly shuttle court.

My 45yr mother is looking for beginners shuttle court for some physical activity, preferably near bagalur road.

She's working and prefers early morning timings if not then maybe evening after 6:30. A beginner friendly environment would be nice.

Please let me know the best options, thankyou!

Anchetty Durgam Hike with the Reddit crew 🥾⛰️

A few hikes ago, we were just a few looking for others to hike with.
Now we’ve got a little crew going. 😄
Anchetty Durgam was another fun day out — good views, good conversations, and good company.
We’ve decided to keep this going and trek every Saturday. 🥾⛰️

Really glad I found this bunch through Reddit. If anyone’s been looking for people to hike with too, feel free to join us for the next one! 👀
Already looking forward to the next trail.

Suggestion on shifting to Hosur

I just want to get some external view point. I am working in Whitefield as a Data Scientist. Off late I am in a dilemma on where to settle. Mostly the decision is based on my work/career location and my child’s education, who is a toddler right now. I want my child to learn Tamil as a language in schooling. I have an option of settling in Chennai, but honestly the potential for my role is way higher in Bangalore than Chennai. Also if I am settling in Bangalore my child would not get an opportunity to learn Tamil as how it is done in TN. Considering this I am having a thought of settling in Hosur, where I can commute to office, which is now two to three days a week due to hybrid work option and I will be able to put my kid to a school in Hosur. I have around six months time to decide on this. The major drawback I see in this is my commute to work, but it is manageable due to the hybrid work policy. Right now my wife is not working and she might in future based on her wish.

Kindly help me with your thoughts on this. Settling in Hosur seems to be an ideal scenario for me where most of my requirements are satisfied provided managing few stuffs!

Thanks for your time and suggestion in Advance !

Looking for reliable Architect & Builder in Hosur or Bangalore

Hey folks,

Planning to start construction on our 30x50 (1,500 sq ft) plot in Hosur soon. The plan is to build a G+2 duplex house.

Would really appreciate genuine recommendations for:

  1. Architects: Need someone good with modern elevation, functional space utilization, and Vastu-compliant layouts.
  2. Turnkey Builders / Civil Contractors: Looking for people who are transparent with BOQs, don't cut corners on material quality, and stick close to agreed timelines.

Also open to hiring Bangalore-based architects/builders if they regularly execute projects in Hosur without major coordination hassles.

A few specific questions for anyone who built recently:

  • What is the current realistic per sq ft rate going around in Hosur for standard/premium finishes?
  • Did you go with a Turnkey contract or a Labor-only contract + managing your own materials?
  • Any local builders/contractors to strictly avoid based on bad experiences?

Please DM or comment with contacts, firm names, or portfolio links if you've had a solid personal experience. Thanks in advance!

Perseids event today

Who’s watching the Perseids meteor showers today?

A context for the uninitiated:
Perseids meteor shower is a yearly astronomical event where there’s a treasure trove of exploding stars and space debris, burning up on their entry through the atmosphere of Earth. This is visible to the naked eye depending on your geographical region on a clear sky.

Udedurga Betta Fort hike with fellow redditors

Udedurga Betta Fort was a pretty good hike overall. There were a few steep climbs in the middle, but nothing too difficult. Fairly easy-going hike with some great views from the top.
One thing to note: there was literally no one else around when we went. So if you’re planning to do this hike, I’d recommend going as a group or at least with one other person rather than going alone.

Night Theft cases in Hosur

Anyone have updates on the recent night theft incidents?
I’ve been hearing about some theft/robbery incidents happening at night recently in many places in Hosur such as Meenakshi Nagar,Akila Garden,Near Lakshmi Cinemas, and still more parts of Hosur.Does anyone have any confirmed updates on what’s actually happening?

For people living in the affected areas:
=> Have you noticed anything unusual recently?
=> What precautions are you taking to keep your homes/families safe at night?
=>Has the police or local authorities given any updates?
Do you know if these incidents are actually connected, or are they separate cases?
Would really appreciate hearing from people who live in those areas or have firsthand information, rather than rumours.
Stay safe everyone.
