Satsuma’s and rain?

I live in Houston Texas zone 9b. We’re about to get some heavy rainfall so I moved my potted Miho Satsuma to my little covered patio. It gets good morning sun, but mostly bright indirect light through the rest of the day. Will it be okay to stay here for the week while it rains? I had it in my backyard that gets full direct sun light until the late evening. I named him Mijo.

What's eating my tomatoes?

Each year I grow tomatoes, this happens to about half of them. I'm determined to make it stop. I have already sprayed soapy water on them and this season I planted multiple dill plants around my tomatoes. What's going on here?

Harvest day is here!

First haul of my new vegetable patch! Not a huge amount, but having the freedom to garden and get back to myself while adjusting to life as a stay at home mum has been great.

Curious on what I could plant now that will thrive with the heat?

Just moved, wanna garden

Hey guys, I just moved to houston from the eastern texas and I want to grow a few veggies

I was wondering since alot of posts about this are from 6 - 7 years ago that its probably a bit different now. I am hella poor and at the moment ride the busses and metro and im hella penny pinching so id like both cheap beginner tips and then tips for future, more expensive gardening!

I live in the astrodome / medical area

I am definitely growing some potatos, have a bag of potatos that are rooty and when i planted a few before, did well, havent set up a new plot yet gotta find a place to buy supplies, would like tips before i start diying (unless you got diy tips too for this)

Sorry if this is all over the place id love some help, like what to grow, where to go for supplies and seeds, diy gardening builds and etc! Thank you! :]]

Nasturtium Advice

I just bought some Alaskan Nasturtium from HEB. I’ve never grown these but love the flowers. Worried the won’t do well in the heat and wondering how they do indoors? I can’t find a lot of information about growing them here. I do have some shady spots in my backyard as well. I’d love any advice and information yall might have!

Magnolia and a BLT

Maybe two of my favorite fragrances, the scent of a Magnolia Grandiflora blossom and then that of bacon frying! Mark Twain tomato featured.

What the heck happened to my zucchini

I harvested on Friday morning, and everything was fine. I went out of town for the weekend, and I came back to this sad, anemic, and dying thing (with one ginormous zucchini waiting for me. I did not see any little holes on stalks, and the two adjacent plants seem fine. (Houston, Tx)

Blanched some Green Beans

I generally give away my excess green beans, but today decided to blanch some for vacuum sealing to freeze for later use.

Bonus caprese salad with a Pruden’s Purple tomato and Corsican Basil.

Tomato Time.

The “early” lineup. Rebel Yell, Pruden’s Purple, Black Krim, Mark Twain, Abraham Brown, and Polish shown. Abraham Brown is the big 24 ounce brown tomato in the middle. Pruden’s Purple are the three pinks on the lower left. Rebel Yell are the other pink ones except for the one little Polish at the back left.

Still waiting on Brandywine, Marianna’s Peace, and Huevos De Toro.

Only consumed a few so far, Black Krim, Rebel Yell, and Pruden’s Purple. Pruden’s Purple remains the favorite. Still two or three weeks away from peak tomato season.

Seeds started January 5th. I’m using February 27th as the transplant date.

Is Singapore daisy (wedelia) ok to plant? Where to find? 🌼

Title. I think it’s so cute! Internet seems to say some consider it a weed but I’ve seen it around Houston in landscaping and it looks like does really well here. I’m hoping to put some sort of groundcover in my hellstrips because my grass there has been overrun by weeds.

Is this considered a native? And where can I find it?

Mice in backyard garden

I have a few planters in my backyard, I set up a camera to catch whatever was eating my plants, turns out it’s mice. I live inside the loop. Is it possible to get rid of them? Should I be worried for my health?
