CURRENT URGENT UPDATE: HELP NEEDED! Pritam's Mother Is Still Fighting Her Battle with Stage IIIC Ovarian Cancer — Surgery is Our Only Hope

This is an appeal to save a life with the current update.

Hello everyone, I’m Mohana, (u/Miserable_Steak_7915)

I am writing this on behalf of my friend Pritam Choudhury(u/Pritam_choudhury2026 on Reddit and pritamchoudhury2026 on Instagram).

We are making this post again (link to the previous post- drafted by u/bongmadchen) with current updates after receiving the news of Pritam's mother's Blood Report, her Hemoglobin is way too low and she is preparing for the 4th chemotherapy on 3rd July.

The resilience this woman has is beyond my comprehension and so does her son who is handling everything alone as a kid just out of high school.

Around the end of April, after running around Kolkata to different hospitals and clinics, Dr Aditya Narayan Sen (WBMC: 49434) of Microlap Clinic diagnosed Pritam’s Mother with Stage 3C Ovarian cancer and their family has already spent approx. Rs 1.1 lakh but the remaining cost of Rs 6.45 lakh is absolutely massive for Pritam’s family to bear since their monthly income is Rs. 15,000.

Her future treatment plan includes surgery and administering supportive care (such as PARP inhibitors) based on her post-surgery test results.

From 17th to 27th June, we have managed to raise about Rs.1,29,006 with help from you guys on reddit, close friends, family, Auntie's friends from her Durga Puja committee and even Pritam's school teachers.

However, we are still short of about Rs 5.16 lakh.

We would be extremely grateful if you could donate to Pritam’s family to save her life. Even a small amount would be very helpful.

If you can’t donate, simply sharing this fundraiser and connecting us to NGOs would be much appreciated!

Unfortunately, we still haven't received a positive response from the ones we’ve contacted so far.

I am trying my best to use my reddit account to reach as many people as I can to help my friend (he is unable to use his account because it is new and has low karma) cause the fundraiser is our only hope but if you have any doubts, he is willing to answer them over a WhatsApp video call.

I really hope our fundraiser turns out to be the miracle we are hoping for.

If you hit an emergency SOS button in Howrah/Kolkata, would you trust a licensed, 60-second neighborhood civilian shield over a standard 25-minute police delay?

Hey everyone,

​I’m a first-year tech student living in Howrah, and I’ve been mapping out a localized problem. The state police do a lot, but response times in our narrow, dense "para" lanes during a high-panic crisis or late-night safety emergency can easily stretch to 20-30 minutes.

​Instead of trying to rely on passive, remote video-tracking apps, I’m working on a hyper-local concept: a decentralized "Neighborhood Standby Mesh."

​How it works conceptually:

​The Target Audience: Everyday citizens pay a micro-subscription (around 99 rs per month) for complete peace of mind.

​The Responders: We leverage local, background-checked residents (like neighborhood gym trainers, sports athletes, martial artists) who live right in your immediate "para" or residential block.

​The Government-Vetted Training: They aren't just random citizens. Under a strict Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), every single responder will undergo mandatory physical and tactical de-escalation training at a Government-Approved Security Training Institute.

​Legally Licensed: The platform will operate under an official state PSARA license. Responders act strictly within the legal boundaries of the Right of Private Defense (BNS Section 35), utilizing mandatory, live-streaming wearable body cams to record the scene for the state police. They act strictly as a physical human shield and extraction mechanism, NOT vigilantes.

​The Pay Structure: They aren't full-time employees patrolling on fixed shifts. Instead, they receive a monthly baseline honorarium (around 3,000 rs per month) just to keep their geofence app active while at home, plus a direct cash bounty (500 rs or more) if they successfully intercept an active emergency.

​Under 60-Second Response: Because we would have roughly 15 to 20 responders embedded per square kilometer, if someone long-presses an emergency SOS button, the 2 nearest local responders can sprint on foot or a cycle to reach the target location in seconds.

​The Question for You Guys:

​If you or your family members were returning late from Howrah station with luggage, walking through dark coaching hub lanes after late classes, or if a woman in your block faced an active domestic escalation behind a front door, would you trust a 60-second local, licensed civilian shield over a standard 25-minute remote response delay?

​Would local para youth actually be motivated by a 3k rs standby honorarium + active response bounties to protect their own blocks?

​Be as brutal and honest as you want. I want to map out the flaws before trying to validate this further or presenting it to incubators/legal mentors. Let me know your thoughts!

WB BUDGET : Nothing for HOWRAH

So guys , There's literally little to no major announcement for HOWRAH.... literally nothing apart from Bagnan going to become a municipality ,

I hoped to get some news on santragachi metro in this budget but there's no mention of that , there's no announcement of HOWRAH'S Drainage Expenditure or drainage system upgrade plan , there's no announcement on HOWRAH'S waste dumping ground plan.
