Hi. I just started as an in-tank mechanic at Everett on 777.

I’m wondering about the job security at Boeing, I come from union construction with no aerospace experience prior. It’s been hard for me keeping a job for the past 4 years in my trade. Getting laid off is always in my thoughts and I’m anxious about being laid off at Boeing.

Are some jobs safer than others? What can I do personally to mitigate losing my job if anything at all?

Is there SAP (storage and preservation) in San Antonio, TX?
A member said his manager asked if he'd like to go there for 6 months. No other details. I figured if it was like the Victorville, CA and Moses Lake, WA SAP programs this is the only way the company could be asking IAM members to go to San Antonio, TX.

In the newly released collection of wallpaper images, for the 777X, there is an image that appears to be from the 40-25 building. In the bottom right corner, there is a dude that is clearly on their phone in the fuselage.

Update: the image has since been cropped, to remove the mechanic.

Friday 7/3 on ETS doesn’t show up as a holiday, does anyone know why?

Hello, I’ve turned on a few green light ERT’s with equivalent courses. I’m assuming it’s just from trainings I’ve done however I am wanting to take ERT0048 for QA Inspection. are there any equivalent QA courses that can turn on this light?

Hearing rumors that a new 3rd level will try to designate for July 4th this coming weekend. The people I’ve talked to said we cannot be designated on holiday weekends. Is this true? If it is could I get the article in the book that states that clause.

Does anybody know exactly how to file for a shift change. Not location. The old way doesn’t work anymore and I can’t figure out how to file.
