Is there anywhere to watch and download old races for free? (2010s and before)

This is for Le Mans, but also for prototype, sportscar, and touring racing in general. I would love to watch old DTM, BTCC, American Le Mans, etc. Event races like Super Touring at Macau would also be lovely. I know many are available on youtube, but I would like to be able to download them and watch like a movie. Thank you.

How was the DPi era?

I used to watch IMSA races scattered through the calendar year and never paid much attention to the cars or drivers, and only started watching it seriously since the beginning of the GTP era. How was racing before it? Were the DPis much different from the LMDhs/LMHs?

The DBR9: The most elegant GTS/GT1 racer

Both the GTS (1999-2004) and GT1 (2005-2011) eras had some amazing cars, but IMO, the Aston Martin DBR9 easily takes the crown for elegance.

NASCAR “overtaking”

This happened a number of years ago at CTMP. The guy who crashed into 1st place was given the win, as his truck was ahead. After they got out, hands were thrown. I was reminded of this incident when the corvette didn’t get penalties at Laguna Seca.

Reminder for the “How can I watch the 24h Nurburgring” posts

So as we all recover from the past two plus days of amazing racing at the Nurburgring let’s take a moment to think of next year. The amount of posts related to how to watch or Racer+ sucks in the US is fairly common but now’s the time to action on them if you haven’t already. Most of the VPNs have 24+ month pricing and will avoid this altogether and set you up for success next season.

Surfshark, Nord and a slew of others out there (even browser ones for free) will give you access to so much great racing - 24h Nurburgring, DTM, IMSA, etc. DTM at Zandvoort is coming up this weekend and will give you a chance to see many of the GT3 teams and drivers y’all just saw at the 24h race in a phenomenal series at a great track. They broadcast most (if not all) of the practice and qualifying sessions on their YouTube channel and the coverage is great and is in English. Get familiar with the flow now so you can enjoy next year’s 24h race without stressing or purchasing a different service that will make it even more frustrating.

If anyone has any questions comment and we can help you out!

Hello Friends, I joined this subreddit not only to learn and be able to talk about this category, But for now I just need your help for a very important project of mine.

I'm trying to do a project that's based on an iceberg of motorsport in general (Drift, Open Wheel, Rally, GT, etc). And at this point, I'd like to ask you, what have been the most historic moments in the category? Whether they're epic moments, rivalries, controversies, including funny moments, coincidences, or simply memes related to the category, etc. It can be anything. While you're at it, it would be a huge help if you could send me links to information or simply tell me what happened that time.

I'm doing this whole project mainly to raise awareness of motorsports in the Spanish-speaking world (As you can see, I'm from Colombia). And thus enable more Spanish-speaking people to understand or learn about other categories besides the main ones (F1, Indycar, etc.).

Your contribution would be a great help and you could contribute to this project that's so important to me, so I would really appreciate your help 🥹

Just found this Daytone 24 Winner Rolex from 1992 it's worth anything?

My father just passed away and I was organizations some stuff and find this. The watch belonged to someone who went to my grandfather's watchmaker's and ended up forgetting it there. My grandfather kept the watch to cover the repair costs, but even after waiting, the owner never returned, and it became an inheritance for his grandchildren.

Att: I just got back from the watchmaker and he confirmed it's a replica, it only has sentimental value, should I keep it or wear it myself? He valued it at $100 max

Dear fellow Americans considering subscribing to Racer+ to watch the Nurburgring 24: don't.

Don't. It worked for no more than 3 minutes before it tried grifting more money. Don't give them a cent! The app will pretend you haven't just spent a good bit of money for their terrible service. At least I went for the cheaper option while I decided whether it was worth it; short answer, it's not. Also, what legit streaming service doesn't offer a 1 month option?!?

Before anyone asks, I'm contacting for a refund and have an alternative method if they want to play games.

I'm also starting my search for a VPN, so I'm open to suggestions. Heard good things about Opera, Nord, and Surfshark.

Race Parking Next Weekend - Indy 500

Hey Indy/Speedway friends — figured I’d throw this out there for anyone heading to the 500 next weekend.

For the past few years I’ve helped with race day parking at Speedway Baptist Church, and honestly it’s become one of my favorite community traditions. We’re right near IMS and for nearly 20 years people have parked with us, walked over to the track, and helped support something meaningful at the same time.

Parking is $30/car and you get:

- Safe lot with people around all day
- Actual restrooms (seriously, underrated on race day 😂)
- Water fountains
- Walking distance to IMS

📍 Speedway Baptist Church — 2986 Moller Rd
⏰ Gates open at 6AM, first come first served

The coolest part is every dollar goes toward youth mission trips. I work with young people a lot and I’ve seen firsthand what experiences like these do — getting students out into communities to serve, build relationships, and see a world bigger than themselves.

So if you’re looking for parking anyway, consider us. You’re getting a spot and helping send some good kids out to do good things.

Tag your race crew, and if you park with us, come say hi.
