I am seriously so done with constant job search even if i am admitted due to something, all i can think of job job jobbbbbbb.

It's been 2 yrs gap (i worked in between tried different domains, internships, even got job but got ghosted idk due to some project issue)

At this point my anxiety and depression is on peak seriously.
My body is screaming for help it's so messed up.
I am justtt so soooo exhausted of having same thoughtsssss.

I feel like l am good for nothing seriously.
But the solution of most of my issues is a JOB.

I am unable to cope up..
I tried QA, Hr, BDA in non tech.

To leap or not to leap?

I am approaching a huge career decision point and am seeking any advice I can get from the community.

The temptation to resign despite not having anything else lined up seems to be growing everyday. While it is true that the job market can be unforgiving and the traditional mantra is to “never resign without a job”, remaining in such an environment can also be draining on your mental energy and make it hard to devote yourself fully to the hunt; not to mention how much better a candidate you become for recruiting teams during a typical notice period.

To anyone who has jumped ship and gone into the unknown:

Has the peace of mind and instant availability been worth it?

How did you manage to deal with this issue when talking to new employers?

And lastly, for all you hiring managers/recruiters, do you consider this to be a huge red flag or not?

Let me know in the comments below.

25M, based in Kolkata. (open to relocate). Looking to break into a startup environment full-time. [Onsite/Remote]

  1. Ideally Founder's Office / Growth / product roles (APM/PM/Product Designer)

  2. Over the last 3 years I've worked across B2B client management and product building — personally managed 15+ enterprise accounts with ~95–100% SLA adherence over 32 months, converting single-order clients into multi-contract relationships through structured needs analysis and KPI dashboards. Led a cross-functional process audit that cut delivery lag by ~35%, and translated ambiguous client requirements into precise specs and PRDs across 11+ technical briefs.

  3. (a) On the product side, I've built 4 AI-powered products end-to-end — a RAG-based JD-resume matching tool that improved suggestion accuracy by ~30% over iterations.

(b) A clinical triage copilot that reduced decision latency by ~20%, an autonomous content pipeline that eliminated 2+ hrs/week of manual work.

(c) Led a 0→1 app from idea to launch with 12+ brand collaborations. I tend to work best at the intersection of ambiguity, structured thinking, and fast iteration.

  1. Recently graduated from my PGPM in Product Management & Business Analytics at a tier-2 MBA college in Chennai.

Especially interested in startups building in AI, B2B SaaS, consumer internet, or health-tech.

Happy to share portfolio/CV if relevant.

Indian IT companies are horrible

I don’t know where to start — all Indian IT companies seem horrible.

Story 1

My friend got selected by a Pune-based company, and they asked him about his salary expectations. He gave a reasonable range enough to survive in Pune , but he got rejected. The rejection mail came after one month, even after he sent two follow-up emails to the HR.

Story 2

My friend cleared all his interviews, and his salary was finalized. But the same evening, he got a call from HR saying that his requirement could not be fulfilled by the company, and they reduced his salary by ₹5,000 from the originally agreed amount. The HR was a fresher, and he had no other option but to accept it.

Story 3

A company visited my college and demanded the original 12th-class certificate as collateral for a 2-year bond for a 5 LPA package. And guess what? They expected candidates to build an entire web app in front of them during the interview round.

My Story

I got a document submission mail from a well-known startup, and then they completely ghosted me. No response even after 3 weeks, and no reply to the emails I sent to HR.

I mean, what the hell is happening? I don’t think India has a future in IT anymore. It feels like only politicians (criminals) or businessmen can survive in India.

During the past couple of years, I have been coming here and read through hundreds of Posts, and have a small group that I mentor offline. The themes are common

Strongest Patterns Across Levels: Job Switching Is seen as the “Fastest Growth Lever”

It is true that Loyalty doesn't pay in IT. Even in GCCs on FAANG, “loyalty” is highly overrated. Your skills and experience are highly transferable and mobile.

Corollary to loyalty is switching strategically - every 12-18 Months or when the right opportunity comes along.  A random switch for a 10-15% jump every year is not going to take you far beyond your peers.

Freshers:

The most common concern is getting a job (any job!). Many posts are from developers earning modest salaries but worrying more about “not learning anything.” Common concerns include

  • How do I avoid getting trapped in a low-growth role (Bench, maintenance, support role etc)?
  • How do I get out of this toxic workplace at a lala-company/startup?
  • I have experience in XYZ, but recruiters are looking for ABC
  • I work at a WITCH; how do I get into a FAANG/Tech company?

Pro-tip: No coach or consultant can help with these concerns. If you haven’t been able to get  campus-interview, you must network offiline and online (e.g Linkedin) and repeatedly applying for relevant jobs. Tailor your resume for EACH job.

Junior-Level (3–8 YOE):

  • How do I stay relevant and avoid stagnation? Can I move from back-end to front-end?
  • I am expected to use AI tools but all I do is consume tokens in ABC tool. How can I be more productive and learn more?
  • Other common issues  - AI disruption  / Career pivots  / Burnout or WLB / Leadership transitions / International opportunities

Pro-tip: Read and learn more. Raise your hand if there are opportunities at work. Tailor your resume for EACH job you apply to.

Mid-Level (8–14 YOE):

  • Do I continue in IC roles or move to PM/Leadership track?
  • How do I address the fear of becoming outdated due to AI automation?

Pro-tip: Start taking a holistic view of life beyond your job – find a passion, start a family, build on financial security etc. A coach/mentor cannot “guide you” but will ask relevant questions. You must reflect on them yourself and take a decision.

Senior-Level (14+YOE):  You may already have a blueprint for where you see yourself.

  • How do I balance all my life expectations (family, aging parents, EMI etc) against job and commute?
  • Do I start thinking of Life after IT?

Pro-tip: Talk to peers and your mentors to ideate. Continue holistic view of life beyond your job – find a passion, start a family, build on financial security etc.

During my mentoring, I wear the hat of a “life-coach” and look beyond career.

Techies at every stage think their problems are unique, but they are not

  • Freshers fear being left behind in the AI era. Mid-level engineers fear becoming irrelevant in the fast pace. Seniors fear losing leverage
  • There is a lot of focus on CTC but most of us forget that consist earning is a key more than a periodic bump. Getting a 50% salary hike and getting laid of in 1 year is going to leave you back in the same treadmill
  • Questions about ‘investing’ in property and EMI are common, but very few have financial acumen or discipline
  • Many come to rant about ‘family issues and baggage, but don’t have the resilience to address them

In the end, most career problems in tech are rarely just “tech problems.” They are problems of mindset, discipline, resilience, emotional stability, and long-term thinking.

Feeling stuck 1 year .NET Full Stack experience, facing office politics, continuous rejections. Need help

I have one year of experience as a .NET Full Stack developer, and I’m currently looking to switch jobs. The main reason I’m leaving is the toxic work environment there’s a lot of office politics going on, and honestly, it has become a situation of me vs. my entire team. It’s mentally draining and very frustrating.
So I started applying for new jobs, but I keep getting rejections continuously and I don’t know what’s going wrong. This whole situation the toxic workplace and the job search going nowhere is starting to affect my mental health, and I feel completely stuck.
I genuinely don’t know what to do anymore. If anyone has been through something similar or has advice on how to get past this, I’d really appreciate it. I just want to land a job and get out of this situation.
Any help would mean a lot. Thank you.

20 years in QA, moving toward Data Science — what career path makes the most sense for me?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some honest career advice from people in tech/data. I am from India.

I have around 20 years of experience in software QA. My background includes end-to-end manual testing, test planning, test reporting, and leading teams. I also have some experience with automation using Selenium with C#. In addition, I’m a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and can manage a small scrum team in a Scrum Master role.

Right now, I’m pursuing a Master’s in Data Science from a well-known university through their distance learning program. My goal is to understand whether moving into data science is a realistic and worthwhile next step for me at this stage of my career.

I’d really appreciate advice on a few things:

  • What is the career scope for someone like me in data science?
  • Would my QA and Scrum background be considered valuable, or would I be starting from zero?
  • Which roles would be the best fit: Data Analyst, Data Scientist, ML-related QA, Product/Data role, or something else?
  • What skills should I focus on most to become employable in this space?
  • Is it realistic to target data science directly, or should I aim for a transition role first?

I’m open to honest feedback. I want to make a practical move, not just chase a trend. If anyone has made a similar transition, I’d love to hear how you approached it.

Thanks in advance.

Tech jobs from company career pages

One thing I’ve noticed while job searching is that timing matters a lot. By the time a role shows up everywhere, hundreds of people have already applied, which decreases the chances by a lot.

Grep tools are usually the solution which checks company career pages directly and brings fresh software engineering, data, AI/ML, and internship roles into one place. If you are looking for something similar, DM or comment. I've something that might help someone if they are in a similar situation.

Didn't want it to look like a promotion. If interested, please dm or comment; I will paste it there. TY.

Hey folks,
I’m a backend engineer with ~8 years of experience, currently looking to join an early-stage startup as a founding engineer.
Most of my work has been building and scaling systems from scratch — I enjoy owning problems end-to-end rather than working on isolated pieces.
Recently, I was a founding backend engineer at a crypto analytics platform where I:
* Built the backend and data systems from 0 → production
* Scaled infrastructure handling multiple terabytes datasets
* Designed event-driven systems and high-throughput APIs
* Brought API latency down significantly (sub-100ms p90) while reducing infra costs
* Owned AWS architecture, reliability, and backend direction during early growth
* Tech stack I’m strongest in:
— Python (Django, FastAPI), SQL
— PostgreSQL (partitioning, performance), Redis
— AWS (ECS, SQS/SNS, S3, RDS, Kinesis, etc.)
— Distributed systems, async workflows, data pipelines
Lately, I’ve been exploring AI infrastructure / GenAI systems, especially how they integrate with real-world data platforms.

What I’m looking for:
Early-stage startups (0→1 or early scale)
High ownership across backend, infra, and architecture
Problems involving data systems, infra, or AI
Small, strong teams that move fast
Location: Open to remote or India-based roles

If you’re building something interesting — or know someone who is — I’d love to connect.

Laid off after 10+ years in Non-IT — Starting over in Azure Data Engineering and trying to switch to IT

Hi Everyone,

I’m looking for honest guidance from people already working in Data Engineering or Azure.

I have 10+ years of experience in a non-IT field and got laid off in April 2026. Since then, I’ve been trying to completely rebuild my career in IT by learning Azure Data Engineering (SQL, Python, ADF, Databricks, Pyspark, ADLS / Synapse basics).

Some days I feel motivated, but other days I honestly wonder:

  • Am I too late to enter IT?
  • Are companies willing to hire someone from a non-IT background?
  • What actually matters more: certifications, projects, or experience?

I can study 8 hours daily and I’m serious about making this transition. I’m not expecting shortcuts — I just want a realistic direction from people already in the industry.

Even small advice or personal experiences would really help me right now.

Thank you.
