New friends

I'm new in Iloilo and would like some new friends. Btw, I'm in my 30s F so would like to meet people my age. Just for coffee and sensible talk.

Likes: Watercolor painting, music, concerts, reading, horror movies

To be clear, I'm not looking to date. I just want to meet new people and have new friends.

Heavy, grainy eyes + grogginess even after 8-10 hours of sleep. Is this normal in sleep recovery?

Hi everyone. I’m on about Day 8 of trying to fix my sleep and I’m losing it a bit.

Background: I had a week of really bad anxiety + almost no sleep. Now I’ve been forcing myself to sleep 10pm-6:30am/7am for over a week. I’m in bed for 8-10 hours.

But I still feel awful.

The main thing killing me:
My eyes feel SO heavy and grainy all day. Like I have sand in them. Like I pulled an all-nighter even though I just slept 8+ hours. It’s uncomfortable, makes thinking impossible, and it’s messing with school and my whole life.

I also wake up a few times. Sometimes at 12am from bad dreams, sometimes at 3am, and lots of hypnagogia right before I get up. So the sleep is fragmented even though the hours are there.

I’m so groggy, can’t think straight, and I’ve never felt energetic or "not sleepy" since this started.

My questions:
Did anyone else get this heavy, grainy eye feeling during sleep recovery? Does it go away?
Is it normal to sleep 10 hours and still feel like a zombie for over a week?
How long until the fog and eye heaviness lifted for you?

I’m drinking water, no naps, trying to get light in the morning. I just feel hopeless because I’m doing "everything right" and still feel like this.

Please tell me this is temporary. I’m so tired of feeling like this.

I’ve always wondered: Could Iloilo become the next major concert destination in the Philippines? 🎤

As someone from Iloilo, this is something I’ve been thinking about lately. I would honestly love to see Iloilo have a proper concert venue or arena—something similar to MOA Arena or the Smart Araneta Coliseum, or even a modern stadium designed to accommodate big concerts and major events.

Sometimes it feels like whenever there’s a major international or national concert, the choices are almost always Manila, and occasionally Cebu. I keep thinking, why not Iloilo?

We already have a great airport, hotels, restaurants, beautiful places to visit, and a growing tourism scene. We’re also strategically located in Western Visayas, so I feel like people from nearby provinces could potentially travel here for big events.

Imagine coming to Iloilo for a concert and making a whole trip out of it—watch the concert, explore the city, eat good food, visit Guimaras or other nearby destinations, then fly home. I think it could actually be a great way to promote Iloilo as a tourism and entertainment destination.

Of course, I know building something like a 10,000–15,000+ capacity arena would be a huge investment, and there are probably a lot of questions about demand, land, transportation, and whether concert organizers would actually bring major artists here.

But I’m curious what everyone thinks.

Do you think Iloilo is ready for a major concert venue?

Would you rather see an indoor arena similar to MOA Arena/Araneta, or a large open-air stadium?

And most importantly, do you think Iloilo could realistically become a regular stop for major concerts in the future?

I’d genuinely love to hear what fellow Ilonggos—and even people from nearby provinces—think about this.

Looking for a Part-Time Job in Iloilo While Studying

Hi everyone, I’m J, 21, and currently studying at a state university here in Iloilo.

I’m posting this because I’m currently looking for a part-time job that I can do while studying. I recently found out that my mom might lose her job, and my dad is currently unemployed. Because of that, I really want to find a way to help my family, even if it’s just by covering my own allowance and school expenses.

I’m doing well in school and I really want to finish my studies, so I’m hoping to find something that I can manage alongside my classes. I’m not really picky about the kind of work. I’m willing to learn, easy to teach, and can adapt pretty quickly.

I’m open to anything around Iloilo City/ Iloilo or online, data entry, encoding, tutoring, assisting, service jobs, or honestly whatever work I can reasonably do as a student.

If you know of any places hiring part-timers, online opportunities, small businesses looking for someone to help, or even just someone I could ask, I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know.

I know there are a lot of people also looking for work, so I’m not expecting anything. I just thought I’d try asking here. I’m willing to work and learn.

Thank you so much to anyone who reads this or can point me in the right direction. 🙏

AI Use

What do you guys think about establishments that constantly use AI in their marketing materials? Especially the ones that are in the higher price range of goods and services. What immediately comes to your mind when you see a marketing material from them that is obviously made entirely by AI?

Day 3 of Looking for a Job 🥹 in data analytics

Hey guyss, ari naman ko. 😭

First of all, thank you gid sa tanan nga nag-message kag nag-reach out sa akon. I really appreciate all the suggestions. ❤️

Pero ang challenge lang gid is most of the openings sa data analyst need experience or knowledge in Power BI kag SQL, pero may ara pa ayhan nga willing mag-hire while I'm learning on the job? I'm a fast learner man gid kag willing gid ko mag overtime.

For now, I have advanced Excel skills, experience in data reporting and analysis, kag super basic knowledge sa Python kag C++. I know that's not enough yet, pero willing gid ko mag-upskill if given the opportunity.
