Japan Democratic Socialist Party Poster
Policies that protect our lives
A country that supports the working people
Let's build a future together
Short Lore: In this timeline, Japan is split between the capitalist West and Communist East. Facing a hostile neighbor right at their doorstep, Prime Ministers of Japan (mostly from the New Liberal Party) would prioritize economic and technological advancements over the well beings of their citizens, not only for growth, but also for national survival, to make itself too invaluable to lose.
Such policies have of course led to various negative affects on Japanese society. The JDSP would be at the forefront in the movement against the New Liberals after the reunification of Japan, advocating for a livable Japan, not a rich but soulless Japan. The party holds a spectrum of leftists, from social democrats to gradualist marxists, a product of the timeline's New Left movement.
