Center piece for my army I was very nervous

So been putting off doing my Castellan I’m very critical of myself and this is the model that made me want to start knight as my second army. Started it on Friday and just been working here and there through the weekend. But I’m proud of the way it’s coming out !

Can i safely buy Cerastus knight variants like the lancer or castigator or do i have to be afraid of them being locked to Horus heresy in the future and not being playable in 40k ?

I absolutely love the cerastus knight variants, probably more than the questoris. But is there a decent chance of them going away in the future ? I have no interest in Horus heresy as a game .

Thoughts after first RTT of 11th

Had an interesting day yesterday at my first RTT of 11th.

Ended up going 3-0 against Gene Stealers (recon, 100-45), CSM (take and hold, 97-26), and Ultramarines (purge, 95-74).

I ran purge GWL + DF with this list:

Fast Cats (1,990 Points) | Imperium - Imperial Knights | Dominus Foebreakers and Gate Warden Lance (3 Detachment Points)

• Knight Castellan (Warlord, 2x SML, EAA, TSC) [425]
• Knight Castellan (2x SML, EAH, TSC) [440]
• Knight Destrier (CGC, FB, QHS, TF) [265]
• Knight Destrier (CGC, EVT, FB, QHS, TF) [280]
• Knight Gallant (EPH, ME, SRP) [375]
• Culexus Assassin [85]
• Eversor Assassin [120]

Thoughts on our army:
- We are very lethal right now with access to Castellans at 400-420 points (before enhancements). Towering plus access to +1 to hit in dominus foebreakers means we can routinely hit on 2+ if we play around cover and towering properly.

- This also means splitting guns is situationally the right call with good strategem usage. Being able to pick up 2+ hard targets per activation allows us to punch up very well. An anecdotal example was the two Castellans were able to pick up a land raider, a sky speeder, and 2 ballistus dreads, plus some bladeguard vet models in 1 turn.

- Hidden is going to be a challenge for us into melee matchups. Had a few cases where I got tagged or killed on a destrier while in terrain and I wasn't eligible to retaliate because they haven't shot the previous turn.

- Our movement quality is exceptional for board control. In all three games I took this and never thought twice. There was situationally strong opportunities where a re roll would have been nice but generally had more than enough firepower to make up for it. I do think that in select matchups the OC and leadership will matter more such as tyranids.

- Purge seems to suit us well, especially into mirror matchups. We have so few units that opponents won't typically be able to pick up more than you can. Priority assets will likely become our best option. I could see a valiant being a valid central objective holder with the flamer to ignores cover on the flamer and short range of the harpoon.

- Big knight skew seems a lot better. I never felt that I wanted Armigers at any point. Destriers provided much more speed and reliably kill MEQ blocks on objectives.

Happy to answer any questions.

First time player, wanting to add one more big knight!

Hello fellow knights! I finally bought into the gameknights! Going into 11th, and these models are what I am currently working on building. I have heard that adding some small units would be the more meta option, but it would love to add a questoris knight to this list. Any recommendations on which one to add to round out what this list does?

Still brand new to the actual gameplay side of the hobby, so I do not know how to catch what is obviously missing!

My Knights of Nocturne army has been completed

It took me a bit over a year but here is my Imperial Knights army themed after salamanders. What started off as a Castellan ally for my salamanders army has gotten out of hand. Im pretty happy with them, still a few little things that need cleaned up but oh welllll.

Fully painted knight army to look like stone

Update from my previous post - https://www.reddit.com/r/ImperialKnights/comments/1ui6z7g/knight_house_balaura_the_stone_sentinels_of_the/

Paint job followed the direction from u/vashtorrs_muse
https://www.reddit.com/r/ImperialKnights/comments/1djmegj/statue_knight/ with Warmtree vines for the foliage.

Note: previously I tried to have the arms and body connected via Legos, but found that to be failing. Currently the body of the bigger knights are glued together and the arms and weapon mounts are all connected via magnets. The only part that is left as Legos is the mid section of the Armigers

Allies advice

I’ll be playing a game tomorrow and I have enough spare points to add either a subductor squad or an aquila kill team.

Which would you recommend? I’m going up against genestealers if that matters.

Also what force disposition should I use between priority assets and purge the foe?

Best Loadout for the Valiant

Playing the Valiant is fun, love the valiant is the best, no leo lloros.

But I'm still deciding which weapon I should double up, the 2 shield breakers because they are dope, but not having the castellan rule makes them worse, or using 2 siege breakers cannons because he will be closer to the enemy infantry.

WIP inspired on one of the DA successors chapters
