Pretty happy so far. First time doing a dirty/rusty effect. Thought I was almost done but then remembered all the armor panels left lol.

What is the idea behind h4?
I see this suggestion often but have no idea why. The only think I can think of is denying black g5 but the bishop is also pointing at g5.

How to block this check in the opening?
his is a very common type of position I find myself in. I feel sometimes the engine wants me to play Nc6, sometimes Bd7, sometimes Nd7. Is there some sort of rule of thumb?
Bd7 is more forcing, but Nc6 is a more natural move and recapturing with the b pawn gives you another pawn toward a the center if the c pawn is already taken. I am never sure what to play.
