ICICI rejected Savings Account application due to low CIBIL

Hi All, so I wanted to get an ICICI bank Savings Joint account with my Wife. Now the bank executive did visit my place and asked for PAN and Aadhar. After some time he said sir your application cannot be processed as your cibil is low. Unfortunately my and my wife's profile was used by a scammer who took loan on our name and he fled out of the country. It has been 3 yrs but the banks are still asking us to pay (Famous Scam of Pune - Ashtavinayak Investment scam). Due to this both of our Cibil has totally collapsed.

Now coming to the point why the hell ICICI needs to check CIBIL to open a savings account. And please mind you we both have individual icici accounts operational since last almost 10 yrs. We both are from IT and earn quite a good amount of money.

Is there any new rule from the RBI side to check CIBIL before opening a savings account??

Need help to trace a recurring NEFT credit in my deceased father’s account

My father passed away couple of weeks back due to sudden cardiac arrest, he never shared his finances with anyone. So we are going through the process of finding out his bank accounts and closing them.

We found out he has an active account in Indian bank, but it has recurring NEFT credit of 2k each month from a SBIN. There isn’t much information and the bank officials don’t know where it’s coming from either.

Would it be possible to know where exactly is this credit coming from before we close the account?

Education loan with low academics ?

Hi 20M preparing for entrance exams for MBA, I had a decent 10th and 12th both above 75 less than 80, but my graduation was really messy , had total of 14 backlogs all together in 3 years (11 internals because I was admitted late in the first year and missed all the internals) done with all backlogs cleared them done with graduation, but the question that has been getting into my head a lot is will I be getting an education loan? I feel like there is a high probability my loan will be rejected because of my academic profile. Im even ready to have some property as collateral so please kindly help me ( need around 11-12 lakh loan) please help

SBI employees only care about cross selling insurance

So, my sister is a student, and we wanted a bank account for her. She went to SBI branch today, and they straight up said, you need to sign up for Rs 3000 insurance for account opening.

She called me(I live in a different city), I talked to the guy, and told him that it is voluntary and not compulsory, but he held his ground, so I asked to speak with the branch manager.

The branch manager said that I am right, and it is not compulsary.

As soon as I cut the call, the branch manager told the desk guy that they are problematic, don't open account.

Sure, we will do it online now, because the employees are just to scam people.
