Should i go since my rank is so low
Bhu 4th round is done and I have got seat in dav for ma economics
Will it still upgrade or is it over
And can we withdraw in spot rounds or what will be the process.
Making this to discuss everything that happens today during the interview process. Have mine in the afternoon so morning batch ones could you please start with the sharing
Thanks
Anyone from non eco background (B.Com maybe) who gave IIFT interview today? If yes, please share how was the interview and what type of questions they ask from a non eco student.
It would be really helpful, if someone could share the insights.
Those who got an upgrade in round 3 and is now paying the fees for accepting the seat, what will be the dates for document verification for us? Will it be same as the earlier round, that is, 8th and 10th July?
If anyone has any idea, kindly pls help so that I can plan things accordingly.
Did you guys receive any confirmation email while registration at igidr portal? I just realised I didn't. And I don't know my IGIDR CUET registration no.
They didn't ask for any fees. Is that why the application is not considered or something? How can I check?
I scored kinda low (200ish) in CUET-PG, I initially was a little hopeful to get a call from DSE since I am a CW candidate. However, now I've completely lost hope after seeing the cut-offs. I've lost hope for IGIDR and JNU as well.
I do have an interview call from IIFT for their MA Econ program. Can someone help me figure out if I should give it (I'd have to travel to Delhi) and how does their program compare to DSE/IGIDR/JNU
Thank you:)
What is likely the cutoff estimated of Jnu ma economics
Same as above. Can’t find any info about it on the website.
what you guys think would be the starting cutoff for JNU ma economics ?
How many of you have taken a seat at DSE only as a backup and are planning to join ISI, JNU, IGIDR, or some other institute if you get in?
Please be honest. I’m just trying to understand how many seats might eventually be vacated.
I got energy economics from bhu in 1st round. is it good course??? .. should I got for it...
I want to prepare for government exams. I wanted general economics but cutoff in bhu is still too high... I don't want to take drop.....
What should I do ???
I had received a few DMs on how to prepare for CUET PG COQP10 (Economics). So instead to replying individually to everyone, I thought I'd make this post.
Resources - For Micro and macro, I'd suggest following HL Ahuja for the theory part. Pindyck and Hal Varian for some mathematical part. In Macro, you can follow Blanchard or Froyen. Any standard undergraduate textbook is more than enough. Also, class 11 and class 12th books are also helpful for MCQs. I'd suggest mapping topics from PYQs and then studying them from each of the notebook. Use AI to organize your notes. Sydaester & Hammond for Mathematics and NG Das for Statistics. For Indian Economy, I'd go with direct PYQs and then mapping the topics and further makes notes using AI. Econometrics part isn't really extensive and can be done with college notes or simply watching one shot youtube videos.
Strategy - Structure your preparation in 70:30 ratio of syllabus completion and PYQs/practice questions in the early months. As you get closer to syllabus completion, start giving more weightage to solving PYQs and Mocks. I'd suggest you purchase practice mocks and test papers from an online coaching like Arthapoint. You don't need a complete course, but solving good quality mocks are non-negotiable to crack CUET PG. Make extensive and smart use of free trials of AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. Use them to make practice questions, analyse the syllabus and study question patterns. Learn how to prompt and make effective custom chatbots. This skill will go a long way in your career. Focus on completing Microeconomics first, since concepts from Micro are frequently used in other subjects.
Online Help - I don't really have a particular suggestion since there are a ton of economics based youtube channels but Arthapoint's DSE question series is a godsent. I used to watch it daily during the last two months of my preparation. It gave me idea of the breadth of the questions that might come in the exam. Other than youtube, you should definitely consider investing in a good quality mock test package. For that, you can go with Arthapoint or Edusure. I found Arthapoint's mocks more challenging and fleshed out. I found others to be too easy and not really a good example of how CUET PG asks questions.
Final Remarks - Be consistent, focus on understanding the concepts rather than forcing stuff inside your brain. That won't help in the long run. You need to learn the application of concepts, not brute force it. All the best.
