This is what I perceive behind Insecure characters' actions
I consider Kelly to be a poor friend because she routinely mocks Isa's setbacks, making them the subject of her jokes. Additionally, she often exhibits disrespectful language and attitude.
I perceived that Tiffany did not genuinely care for Isa, as evidenced by her behavior of mocking Isa's life, clothing choices, and personality, and also doing so in front of a crowd as if she was intentionally trying to embarrass Isa and undermine her confidence, also by deliberately withholding important information from Isa.
I perceive Molly did not help Isa because Isa was neglecting her, not because Isa was elevating, as many viewed it. To me, it felt like Molly felt Isa hadn't been calling or hanging out with her lately, but only wanted to call when she needed something. I believe that if Isa and Molly had been hanging out and talking every day, or almost every day, like they used to, Molly would have helped Isa.
I perceived that Molly was jealous of Isa and Condola's friendship. She couldn’t bear to see Isa happy and connecting with someone else, which made her fear that Isa might develop a similar close relationship with Condola as she and Isa had. Molly often behaved as if Isa were hers, suggesting possessiveness.
I perceive that Chad thought that Lawrence could do better than Isa because of how Chad used to turn up his face whenever Isa was mentioned, call her out of her name, and make jokes about her appearance. It seems that Chad couldn’t understand how Lawrence was so in love with Isa when her looks were just mediocre to him.
I perceived that Lawrence was ecstatic about Isa driving for Lyft, as evidenced by his behavior during their casual outing. Lawrence tends to be sarcastic, and I interpreted his jokes as conveying his underlying feelings about Isa's life. For example, his joke about her driving for Lyft and sleeping with Calvin seemed to reveal some of his perceptions of her situation. To me, it appeared as though he was getting a little kick out of Isa's circumstances, as if he was subtly suggesting, 'Yeah, you’re where I was at,' especially if he believed she looked down upon that part of his life.
I believe if Isa had left, Condola would have been Endgame. There would have been no reason for Lawrence to end it with Condola, and he definitely would not have, especially since she was pregnant.
I initially perceived that Isa had no issues with being a stepmother and was committed to seeing it through. I believe Issa changed her mind, primarily because she was concerned about facing judgment from her friends, especially Molly. It took Isa two months after Lawrence told Issa that Condola was pregnant to end her relationship with Lawrence. Given the timeframe, I believe she reconsidered her stance.
I perceived that Nathan lied to Issa about why he ended things. I believe he broke up with Isa because both she and Lawrence hurt his feelings. Isa didn't give any signs to Nathan that she was still in love with Lawrence so that Nathan wouldn't have known. How could he have had a feeling? He ended it because he felt foolish, and I could tell that when he showed up at her surprise birthday party, he wanted to reconcile after thinking he had made a mistake. However, he sensed Isa didn’t feel the same, which is why he said what he did.
