Hey everyone, need some advice or to see if anyone found a workaround.

Ever since updating Instagram to version 437.0.0 on my iPhone 8 Plus, the app completely refuses to open. Every time I tap the icon, it immediately crashes back to the home screen.

Here is everything I’ve tried so far (and none of it worked):

• Restarted my iPhone multiple times.
• Deleted and reinstalled the app normally.
• Went to Settings > General > iPhone Storage to Offload App, then reinstalled.
• Did a clean uninstall via iPhone Storage, restarted the phone, and downloaded it fresh.

I checked X (Twitter) and saw quite a few users complaining about the exact same issue over the last couple of days, affecting both iOS and Android.

Today (Monday), I saw a new update available in the App Store (v437.1). I was hoping it contained a hotfix, but unfortunately, after updating, the app still crashes immediately on launch.

Is anyone else experiencing this right now? If you managed to fix it, please let me know how. Thanks!

I updated instagram on my iphone 8, and after the update it keeps on crashing immediately when i open it. is anyone having the same issue? thanks.

This won't help much. But if it catches up then it may. Go to Instagram on the app Store give it 1 ⭐ rating.

Hello! My account was falsely reported of selling drugs due to someone having a grudge against me . I have never sold drugs on my instagram platform. Due to this, my account was suspended. I appealed and Instagram claimed that I used another account to evade the suspension. While I did have another account, i didn’t follow anyone on there nor anyone followed me. My account has been fully suspended and i am not able to request another review. Is there anyway I can get my account back? (i’m a minor by the way)

I’m honestly done with Instagram.
I already have one main account. Recently I tried to create a second account for a new project. I literally did nothing with it. No posts, no follows, no messages.
A short time later it was suspended.
I thought it was just bad luck, so I tried again. Same result.
Third attempt? Suspended again.
At this point I’m wondering if Instagram is automatically flagging new accounts for some reason. Has anyone else experienced this? Were you ever able to fix it, or is creating a second account basically impossible now?
It’s incredibly frustrating when you can’t even start a legitimate new account without getting banned immediately.

the app has started refusing to let me log into my primary account. Every single time I type my exact, 100% correct password, it just shows Incorrect Password
web browsers work perfectly fine with the same password
When I create a new account it logs in but the issue comes back when I logout of that account and try to login the same account again so far I’ve tried
Resetting the phone reinstalling the app using a vpn trying to login in through a link resetting the password network swapping the video selfie thing it works perfectly fine on my mums iPhone what should I do?

O aplicativo está com problema, ao clicar, abre e tão rápido fecha.

Resolvi abrir Instagram via browser do celular, está tudo bem.

Observação: iPhone 8 Plus iOS 16.7.16
Tenho iPhone 6 Plus, abre Instagram tranquilo porem não atualizável e versão antiga até para este modelo do iPhone antigo.

Lado ruim do Grupo Meta: sem suporte humanizado, tudo robotizado, através IA. Impossível avisar ou dar Feedback desenvolvedor sobre o problema do app.
Moral: que os usuários de ferrem com app do Meta.

Basicamente eso ,me hice un ig trucho y 5 chicas me estuvieron pasando fotos y tienen ganas de que nos veamos, no se si decirles a los novios y esposos porque algunas hasta son casadas y con hijos, es increible lo facil que fue solo un par de mensajes y ya querian venir a mi casa

it seems like Instagram is conducting a purge for i see so many people complaining about their accounts being suspended, even one famous person.

why is that, does anyone have any idea why

Hey friends my Instagram when I open it now after that latest update doesn't work on my iPhone 8 Plus it kicks me out after clicking on it directly. Did y'all get the same problem?

I took a 40 day hiatus from social media due to my phone breaking (long story) and I was genuinely excited to get back on IG and sharing creative photos and travel I did in the mean time.

Not only did I lose a lot a followers in that 40 days OF NOT POSTING but any time I post (normally stories, around 1-2 pics) every 3 days or more, I lose followers. A usual cadence I’ve kept up with for years.

This has been an on and off again issue affecting my mental with IG is feeling like if I BREATHE I lose followers for posting a normal photo.

I could write a whole column on how deeply I understand the epidemic on teens / mental health / social media because I feel it as an adult without the raging intoxicating emotions.

If you take up an ounce of room it’s too much. If you show a bit of authenticity, it’s too much. Or not enough. Or trying to hard. Or too little. It’s exhausting.

I’m past the point and just post whatever I want these days. But I work in marketing as an occupation and can’t avoid social media entirely.

But after my hiatus, I probably would if I could. I stopped worrying about what everyone was doing and really only cared about what I was doing. In that very moment! I fell back in love with my real camera and not the iPhone camera. I started writing again. I felt more in tune with who I was.

The only contrary is I realized how hard it was to reconnect with others when they don’t know what you’ve been doing. I felt like I had gone on a journey they just couldn’t understand. Like the whole world was the same but I was different.

I have multiple accounts, one is my main public account and second a private account and one account for my brand's page. I was switching to my other accounts and found this strange message that my account has been suspended!!????? For what reason?? I had separate email id for each of my accounts does it now require separate phone number for each account?? And how will i recover my accounts now??

So I left school 2yrs ago. Up until now, people you know from school (but aren’t necessarily friends with) will always like your posts simply because you know each other. I still like everyone’s posts but in the last year or so they never like my posts in return. They’re always viewing my stories but never like. But they’re alwaysss liking celebrity/influencer posts.

I post aesthetic pics (not often) and glowed up since I left school, I even went viral a few times, but they’ll never return my likes, and they’re still liking photos from other people from school that they aren’t close with. It has always been an unspoken thing to like your acquaintance’s posts. It’s kinda petty but it feels like they’re intentionally avoiding engaging but won’t unfollow? 😭

The "suggested followers" on Instagram has typically shown me accounts that follow or are followed by accounts that I follow / am followed by. Sometimes other random accounts appear but these always seem to be totally random. All of a sudden, the "suggested follows" section started displaying a number of people who I vaguely know​ IRL - no one I follow on Instagram is following these people though, nor are these people following anyone I follow on Instagram.

I probably do have mutual friends with these people on Facebook, but I have never done anything to link my Facebook and Instagram accounts, and Instagram has never previously shown me suggested accounts based on my Facebook activity. I am not friends with these people myself on Facebook, and do not have these people saved as phone contacts.

My Instagram is private and does not use my full name, so there is very little chance that these people were suggested to me as a result of looking at my Instagram account.

Did something change with Instagram recently to make this happen? Has anyone else noticed this happen recently?
