Clip form a session where I got 6 rage quits back to back

I completely understand losing in this game is incredibly oppressive and frustrating, but at 7k lp and above, rage quitting is genuinely insane, he had 2 characters, and it was first game of the set.

Can we PLEASE get the choice for in game character select when playing in casual lobbies?

Ever since DBZF, it seems like all fighters are going towards a lobby system that requires premade team comps. While this makes sense in a ranked format, when you're just vibing with friends and running sets it feels so cumbersome.

Like why do I need to exit out of a match, go to a completely separate menu, pick a team, click l3 to set that team to default, exit out (hope that I saved), que up a fight with a FRIEND, and then confirm twice just to realize that I didn't select the right team?

That's an exaggeration for sure, but I hope that you see what I mean.

I understand the benefit of forcing pre-selected teams in ranked or online casuals. However, if playing in a private lobby with friends, I'd like the option of character select upon entry. Make it exactly the same as local versus.

There are literally no downsides. Most of us are chilling in our homes and wanting to play with a friend. Sometimes youwant to discuss team builds.(give us a character select menu timer toggle in room settings) Sometimes you want to help someone choose a character that fits their playstyle. Sometimes you just want to look at costumes/colors and talk about them. Sometimes you wanna go random select and both of you can see it. Sometimes you just want to cool doqn from playing matches for hours and hightlight characters to have convo about them and potential teams. The list goes on.

We're not all against each other... even if we are. 🤣

The only downside that I can see is potiential counterpicking. But, thems the ropes, my dude. If you're playing shoulder to shoulder, then you're gonna see who your opponent is picking. We're not playing in a tournament here. We're just tryna jam.

Do any of you all feel this way? The preset requirement made me want to play GGST and DBFZ less. Even though I loved the games. Can we just have a choice of maybe "Free" and "Tournament" mode? Idk. Just let us choose if we want to have a character select.

The character select screen is our first handshake before glorious battle. Don't take that away from us.

When does my turn start

im new to fighting games but im at 7k so please dont treat me like im 5 years old. i perfectly block like 10 of his hits in a row, get 2 in return, and then im back into his 10 move blockstring + combos. when exactly does my turn start? how do i know its started? how come none of my moves combo into eachother like that on opponents block? this is all so fucking stupid i just want to hit my opponent. every person i face just blocks when im hitting and then attacks me when i stop. when they hit me i never get a turn. if i try to go for a pushblock or heroic strike i consistently mess up the timing because how the fuck am i supposed to know the timing of this random omniman players blockstring? so i just end up spamming assists which works unless their character magically is big enough to hit eve through my body. awesome game with really consistent gameplay.

I was blocking against a bullet proof player today and he did a move which allowed him to side switch and mix me up, anyone know how that’s done?

I thought he was dead? You hear me pause while I’m dashing because I’m like…….wtf?! lol Sorry for the language lol dude was literally running during all matches we played. So annoying chasing him. Majority of our matches went to Sudden Death like this one because he would back dash assist and dash with Invincible. He was good without running from me so idk man. lol

Rage quit rant

I have the game for about a week, and I've been playing the story and Arcades. Today was the first day I started to play rank.. and I have to say that I always saw everyone complain about the rage quits and I was always like "there's rage quits everywhere, can't be that bad" and ohh boy was I wrong.

I'm doing placements and only one of my wins was actually a guy who didn't leave. All the times I'm about to win there's a disconnect. It's so frustrating. The game is fun and a LOT of expression but I'm now starting to wonder if I stick because the Hussle of getting back to practice, queue etc ( the be deprived of the win ) may be reason enough to get me tired.

UPDATE: “Annoying community”

On my last post I posted how I hate the way people play, I still stand by that, however it isn’t just an invicible vs issue but a fighting game problem as a whole imo. However I wanted to talk about how yes, everyone is right, Rage quitting is stupid and for cowards I agree, but that also I think I found a playing style (for now since buffs and debuffs are most likely coming) that I can use. Most of the time I’ve been using teams for fun, however here’s the team I’ve been using and trying to get better with: bulletproof, he’s meant to be a mixup character which I kinda agree with, but what I’m trying to master right now is his cross up on his foward special. It’s really nice and can be utilized pretty well I feel like. 2nd character I use is titan, I think I’ve said this before but his armor rush is amazing and for people who just spam buttons, he’s amazing. He goes through most projectiles and has a set up that’s amazing in the corner. My last Character is Atom Eve. I gave in and I’m using her assist, most times it doesn’t for me since most characters are in the air when it hits, but it’s still a good tool to use to because combos. I’ll use it, get hit and the assist will hit my opponent instantly making them drop the combo. That’s all for now, but I’m slowly finding my way around this game and getting a handle on it

how to deal with spam?

I don't understand how in this game there is no consequences to spam attacks in guard. Like i can never punish? My enemy always chain attacks without any consequences, i try to attack or even tag but i don't have the time to if he just spam?

How is that even possible?

Why do people keep quitting?

I'm not a strong player, but whenever I'm about to win my opponent just quits

Personally, I quit when the game has 200 ping, but not just because I can't stand to lose and I don't want to give a player one victory

For Real Though I cant be the only person annoyed by this?

In other fighting games they give you the option for a long press to pause the game during a match, Invincible Vs does not have that option and i've lost many matches because i shake the PS4 Controller too much, causing the Pause button to press on its own.

Changes announced/shown in Dev Live Stream - 5.19.26

For anyone that's unable to or wants to watch the video here's everything I noted that they announced or shown in terms of next balance patch

Patch Release

  • Release will be sometime after Combo Breaker this weekend

Block Strings

  • More True Block strings, particularly with magic series
  • Things like Standing Medium and crouch Medium will still not be true block strings

Assist Loop

  • Multiple reuses of the same assist in a combo increases its timer to prevent assist infinites

Assists

  • Ranged assists appear closer to main character. They are more punishable on call
  • Purple health regenerates slower
  • Assists take more damage from combos than before

Sudden Death

  • You keep all characters you have instead of going to 1v1
  • Purple health does not regenerate for assists in this mode
  • There is no transition after killing a character. Next character comes in immediately and can be mixed on incoming
  • Assists do not regenerate boost meter

Some Character stuff previewed

  • Monster girl keeps her momentum on her forward dash hop
  • Mark is more punishable on block on his overhead kick special. Ends closer to opponent on block.
  • Mark is more punishable on block on his lariat special. Ends closer to opponent on block
  • Mark lariat range decreased
  • Atom Eve's back super (the drill) is more punishable on block. Ends closer to opponent on block

Motion Inputs

  • Made DPs easier to perform
  • Other motion input tweaks being looked at.
