Jonsbo 32D Pro PSU Hard Drive Question

I'm doing a new build, wanted to keep things compact and thought the Jonsbo 32D Pro looked interesting. The rest of the build consists of:

  • Intel i5-14400 (no GPU for now, just discrete graphics but maybe one day)
  • ASRock B760M Pro-A/D4 WiFi Micro ATX Motherboard
  • PNY 16GB XLR8 DDR4 3200 MHz Gaming Desktop Memory Kit (2 x 8GB)
  • darkFlash PMT850 fully modular 850 watt PSU
  • Two 3.5 inch hard drives
  • 1 NVMe hard drive

My question is whether or not I'm going to have enough room to use the darkFlash PSU with the two 3.5 inch drives installed? According to the case specifications the PSU just cannot exceed 140mm. The darkFlash PSU appears to be precisely 140mm. I know specs and real world applications are not always one and the same. Unfortunately, I don't have either the Jonsbo or darkFlash on hand to investigate so I was hoping someone with experience with the Jonsbo could chime in and tell if this is going to work or am I going to have issues with cable management or air flow? Any other thoughts on the build are welcome as well. Thanks!!!

A cool little upgrade for the N6 (see what I did there?)

I will fully admit that this is most likely a solution without a problem. I never had temp issues, but I really wanted to do this mod. I love my N6, I finally have a compact mATX NAS enclosure with easily serviceable hot swap drives. I had a lot of fun with this build and IMHO this case is a huge quality of life improvement from my previous Fractal Node 804.

But one thing really bugged me; with the SFX PSU in the bottom compartment, I only had one 120mm exhaust fan to keep my drives cool. Not to mention the gaps between the drives are tight and the hole between the top and bottom compartments is huge. I just felt like a couple of pusher fans up front would really improve airflow.

My original solution was admittedly janky af, but it was functional. The only downside was that my motherboard was still powering the USB port even when the server was off. In addition, I really wanted to make use of the fan speed control switch on the front of the N6 because my NAS is virtualized and individual PWM passthrough I don't think is possible.

So I measured up the original front cover and the case, and came up with this beauty. It uses the original magnets and bottom notches, fits two 120 x 15 mm slim fans, and still sits flush with the front of the case. It's a very snug fit and the tolerances are tight, but it maintains a gap between the drive caddies and the fans to avoid vibration transfer. I'm by no means a great 3D modeler, but I had a lot of fun building this in Fusion. Only other thing I used was a PWM extension cable, and that was just to avoid having to open the back of the case if I needed to disconnect the fans.

It really should have come from the factory this way. Jonsbo, if you're listening... push the backplane back a little and give us full size 120mm fans up front on a quick disconnect. Or better yet, isolate the bottom chamber better and put two high static pressure fans directly behind the backplane. What a missed opportunity.

Jonsbo V12 White + 7800X3D + 5070

Coming over from r/homelab. I originally wanted a server rack case, mostly so the GPU would sit flat instead of hanging off the slot. Then I actually looked at rack dimensions and gave up. Way too big for one machine, and I wasn't going to build a rack around a gaming PC. Ended up with the Jonsbo V12 instead, which turned out to be exactly the case I wanted.

Living in Asia, not everything is on a local shelf, so this got sourced across three places:

Part Model Source Price
CPU Ryzen 7 7800X3D Local $335
Mobo ASRock B850M Steel Legend WiFi D5 Local $220
RAM XPG 32GB (2x16) DDR5-6000 CL36 Local $430
GPU ASUS Dual RTX 5070 JD.com $720
PSU MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 White Local $110
Cooler Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Mini White Taobao $28
Case Jonsbo V12 White Taobao $105
Extra Thermalright TL9015 slim fan Taobao $8

Total: $1,956

Just want to share an idea about avoiding GPU sag.

Jonsbo T9 Build

Just finished her now 🥹 she’s amazing..

includes the following components:

MOBO: ASRock B650i PG Lightning WiFi
GPU: PNY RTX 5060 Ti 16GB
CPU: Ryzen 7 7700 (non X)
RAM: Crucial Pro 6000 32 GB
SSD: Western Digital SN750 1TB
CPU Cooler: Thermalright AXP90x47
PSU: Lian Li SP750
CASE: Jonsbo T9 Mini ITX Case
TOP FAN: Artic P12 Slim Fam

Great thermals and I’m playing everything on this thing! Also soooo surprisingly silent too :) so proud of this build 🥹

Case also comes with dust filters but i did not add them on. I feel like they are optional (also restricts airflow a bit but I haven’t tried them yet to see how much of a difference)

Jonsbo N5 psu

Hi, I just put in an order for a jonsbo N5 and was taking a look at the requirements for the backplane requirements which are honestly a pain in the ass, as it is completely undocumented.

Long story short, the psu I have, a SuperFlower Leadex III 850W ATX3.1 only has 2x sata cable and 1x molex cable. So my question would be, is it okay to daisy chain the molex cable for the x8 sata backplane and is only a sata connection alright for the x4 backplane.
