I appreciate how diverse Jim's portrayed here. He knows he doesn't want to put the armor back on but he knows how to find creative ways to help. Using what's at hand and his own skills, he helps Tony and Force (Wilson) escape from Hammer's mercenaries. Though he definitely doesn't trust Wilson.

Later, he controls automatons at an amusement park to act as a defense/offense against the mercenaries. Then he just beats Blacklash in a one-to-one!

Force Works Friday*: FW Cameo in War Machine (1994) #4

*I know this is being posted on a Saturday, not a Friday. I was on vacation and forgot.

It's not much of a cameo, admittedly. The Force Works crew react to media coverage of War Machine's actions in the country of Imaya.

Was looking for War Machines first appearance ended up with both of these thanks to the store owner!

I found the solo series on the racks and talked to the store owner and he said he thought he had something similar and pulled issue 170 out of a fat stack of comics. Such a cool experience, definitely going back again!

How well does the War Machine armor do against adamantium?

The War Machine armor actually does decent against adamantium( War Machine #6 1994 ). This was when War Machine was fighting Deathtoll in his first series. Now, of course, this was an adamantium jacketed bullet from a handgun. An adamantium tipped high-powered rifle round would have done much more damage. But the War Machine armor does give Rhodes a degree of protection. His newer armors might do even better. But I doubt most writers will acknowledge this detail.

War Machine? No, Warwear

What did you think of the Eidolon Warwear?

It was very different from what had come before and I, for one, liked it. I appreciated how it opened up some new story possibilities for Jim. He wouldn't have to rely on anyone else for tech support.

Visually, it was fun and different. I wish it hadn't been ditched so quickly and unceremoniously.

You can read more about the warwear at Marvel Database.
