Jindo sprayed by skunk

Curious if anyone else has experienced this, but both of my Jindos got sprayed by a skunk pretty aggressively 2 months ago and one of them has become incredibly hyper vigilant and scared of everything around her now. Going to talk to the vet since this isn’t resolving on its own, but thought I’d ask if anyone else has ever had a similar experience.

My Jindo, Patrick, visiting grandma. He wasn’t particularly thrilled to be around Grandma’s puppy whom he finds annoying, but he’s always game to do something or go somewhere as long as he gets to stay near be. Bonus pic of Grandma’s pup at the end.

This is Bindi. She’s 18+ years old, deaf and nearsighted. She likes Chinese food, sitting on boxes, and warm laps.

Welcome Dog Korea- experiences and how long did they take to get back to you?

Hi! I submitted an application to adopt a dog from Welcome Dog Korea almost 2 weeks ago. How long did they take to notify you to set up an interview? I want to hear about the adoption process/steps, and your experience? How long was the process from start to finish? From submitting your application, to being notified about an interview, to acceptance, and actually receiving your dog? I know every circumstance is different but I’m curious. Thanks for your help!

Edit: thanks everyone for your comments about your experiences! It sounds like my application was lost in the shuffle, I will reach out to them. I’m glad it worked well for all of you. I hope it will work out for me too! 🫶

Jindos are skinny little booggers

Man its been reassuring to see jindos are just kind of like that when it comes to being a bit on the skinny side. We had to fatten her up to get to this point and its still a work in progress :D

Do you just live with fur everywhere permanently?

I know they’re double coated, I know it’s just becoming summer so they’re shedding more. But I am vaccuming literally 3x a day every single day, brushing her everywhere every single day and my apartment still looks like this constantly.

These piles are everywhere and I vacuumed the whole place 3 hours ago. I don’t even understand how she physically has that much hair to lose? All of the cotton like undercoat is pretty much gone, and I have thoroughly brushed her every single day to the point where huge piles of fur are coming off, and it still ends up like this every few hours. I’m not expecting there to be no fur but it is seriously normal to have huge piles of fur everywhere constantly???

I know these piles aren’t even that big, if I don’t vaccum for 24 hours they’re way bigger, but they’re still this big after only 3 hours

This isn’t a rhetorical question meant as a vent btw, I have never owned a double coated dog before so I don’t know what’s normal. She clearly isn’t bald or anything so I assume she doesn’t have any major health issue causing it but I wanted to ask here

Meet Kyori and Bomi! 🫶

A rescue I partner with in Korea has the sweetest 15 month old Jindos looking for their forever homes. They strongly believe that being adopted at a young age will help them adjust better to home life and bonding with their people 🥹 Does anyone know of any Jindo specific resources (groups, communities, forums) I can share them to? I would love to help them find forever homes for these sweet babies.

KYORI (left) - Female, 15 months, 7kg
Very affectionate and playful. She loves people and enjoys running around with her dog friends.

BOMI (right) - Female, 15 months, 10kg
A gentle and slightly shy girl with a calm personality.

Both girls are incredibly sweet, have no aggression and get along well with other dogs ❤️

Anyone else’s pup shedding extra?

This might only be applicable for east coasters, but I’m wondering with the erratic weather we’ve had this spring it might be causing my sweet boy to be shedding more than usual during his “coat blowing” period? He seems to have lost his whole top layer of soft fur and I can see his skin more easily beneath what is left. He also looks skinnier (despite weighing the same). Anyone experiencing the same thing?

Side note: the shaved patch on his arm is from needing a tooth removed, nothing to do with this post!

Our Jindo from Korea looks a like a tiny German shepherd

We think she could be part Shiba because she’s small and screams

He keeps growing?!?!?

He's nearly 3 years old and hasn't stopped growing. He's going to eat me out of house and home. He grew 6 inchs this past year, he goes on 15 mile bike rides with pedal party. Is he just going to keep growing like Clifford? I'm honestly not complaining.
