They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting f****d by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you, sooner or later, 'cause they own this fucking place. It's a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head in their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged, and nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. Good honest hard-working people -- white collar, blue collar, it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on -- good honest hard-working people continue -- these are people of modest means -- continue to elect these rich candysuckers who don’t give a fuck about them. इतिहास र पहिचानको राजनीतिमा जहिले पनि एउटा रहस्य र जटिलता लुकेको हुन्छ। विशेष गरी नेपालको पूर्वी भूभागमा बसोबास गर्ने लिम्बू (याक्थुङ) र राई समुदायको ऐतिहासिक गाथा शरणार्थी संकट, राजनीतिक सम्झौता र पहिचानको जालसाजीले भरिएको छ। आधुनिक कालमा 'किरात' (Kirat) भन्ने वृहत् पहिचानको ट्रेन्ड सुरु गर्ने मुख्य समुदाय लिम्बूहरू नै थिए। तर आज उनीहरू नै यो पहिचानबाट पूर्ण रूपमा टाढिंदैछन् र यसलाई एउटा खतरनाक पासोका रूपमा हेर्दैछन्। लिम्बूहरूले रहरले वा स्वइच्छाले किरातको खोल ओढेका थिएनन्, यो उनीहरूको लामो समयको भूमिहीनता र विस्थापनबाट उम्कनको लागि गरिएको एक अपरिहार्य बाध्यता थियो।
इतिहासको पन्ना पल्टाउँदा देखिन्छ कि लिम्बू पुर्खा (शान मंग क्वाङ लगायतका ताई-शान समूहहरू) उत्तरी बर्माको मंगकाउङ (Mong Kawng), मंग माउरोङ (Mong Mawrong / श्वेली उपत्यका), सिटाङ उपत्यकाको विस्थापन, सिप्साङपान्नाको मंग्युन सहर (Mangyun town), र नाम माउ (Nam Maw) जस्ता क्षेत्रहरूबाट लामो र कष्टकर बसाइँसराइ गर्दै हिमालयको फेदीमा आइपुगेका थिए।
उनीहरू आफ्नो मातृभूमिबाट विस्थापित भएका शरणार्थीहरू थिए। जब उनीहरू नेपालको पूर्वी भागमा आइपुगे, तब उनीहरूसँग न त यस क्षेत्रमा कुनै राजनीतिक आधार थियो, न त स्थानीय समाजमा कुनै आफ्ना मान्छे नै थिए। उनीहरू पूर्ण रूपमा भूमिहीन र अपरिचित (Stateless refugees) जस्तै थिए। नयाँ भूमिमा बाँच्न र टिक्नका लागि उनीहरूसँग कुनै विकल्प थिएन।
लिम्बू र राई समुदायलाई सुरुदेखि नै 'किरात' भनिएको थिएन। बर्माबाट विस्थापित भएर नेपालको पूर्वी भूभागमा आएपछि उनीहरूले ओगटेको भूगोलका आधारमा यो नाम जुराइएको थियो:
यो कुनै प्राचीन वंशीय पहिचान नभई विशुद्ध भौगोलिक र प्रशासनिक नामकरण मात्र थियो, जुन पछि गएर उनीहरूको जातीय पहिचान बन्न पुग्यो।
आफ्नो शरणार्थी पहिचान लुकाउन र तत्कालीन राज्यमा आफ्नो अस्तित्व सुरक्षित गर्न लिम्बूहरूले नै 'किरात' नामको विशाल राजनीतिक छाता र मिथकको सिर्जना गरे। तर, यो कुनै सजिलो निर्णय थिएन। यो एउटा यस्तो खाडल (Hole) थियो जुन लिम्बूहरूले भोटिया, खस, र आसामी जस्ता अन्य समुदायहरूलाई अल्झाउन र आफ्नो पक्षमा पार्नका लागि खनेका थिए।
उनीहरूले विभिन्न जातिलाई एउटै किरात सुत्रमा बाँधेर राजनीतिक लाभ लिने सोचेका थिए। तर विडम्बना, समयको चक्रसँगै उनीहरू आफैंले खनेको त्यो कृत्रिम खाडलमा आफैं खस्न पुगे। किरातको यो खोल ओढ्दा लिम्बूहरूले आफ्नो वास्तविक र गौरवशाली इतिहासलाई जानीजानी मेटाए, जसको गहिरो पश्चाताप आज उनीहरूलाई भइरहेको छ।
लिम्बूहरूले जब किरातको नक्कली आवरण ओढे, तब यसबाट सबैभन्दा बढी फाइदा 'राई' भनिएर बनेको समुदायले उठायो। दार्जिलिङ र पूर्वी नेपालमा गोल्डेन ट्राइंगल (Golden Triangle) का विभिन्न ३० भन्दा बढी भिन्न जातीय समूहहरू—जस्तै लाहु (Lahu), लिसु (Lisu), अलावा (Lawa), आखा (Akha), रावाङ (Rawang) र अन्य धेरै समूहहरू मिलेर 'राई' पहिचानको निर्माण गरियो।
सङ्ख्यात्मक रूपमा विशाल बनेका यी राईहरूले पछि किरातको नाममा लिम्बूहरूको सम्पूर्ण इतिहास, संस्कृति र थातथलोमाथि कब्जा जमाउन थाले। उनीहरूले लिम्बूहरूको मौलिक इतिहास र विरासतलाई खोस्दै 'हामी पनि किरात हौं' भनी सबै कुरामा दाबी गर्न थाले। राईहरूका लागि यो किरात पहिचानसँग सहज हुनु स्वाभाविकै थियो क्योंकि यसले उनीहरूलाई पहिचान दियो, तर लिम्बूहरूका लागि यो आफ्नो सर्वस्व गुमाउने पासो साबित भयो। राईहरूले लिम्बूहरूको इतिहास मात्र होइन, अन्य समुदायको इतिहासमाथि समेत रजाइँ गर्न थाले।
आफ्नो मौलिकता हराएको महसुस गरेपछि आज लिम्बूहरूले किरातको नक्कली पहिचानलाई पूर्ण रूपमा तिरस्कार गर्न थालेका छन्। उनीहरूले लाभका लागि आफ्नो वास्तविक इतिहास मेटाएकोमा गहिरो पछुताउ (Regret) व्यक्त गरेका छन्।
आजका सचेत लिम्बूहरू फेरि आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूको वास्तविक मार्ग पत्та लगाउन सक्रिय रूपमा जुटेका छन्। उनीहरू खोज्दैछन्:
लिम्बूहरूले बुझिसकेका छन् कि फाइदाका लागि इम्पोस्टर (Imposter) बनेर किरातको परिचय दिनu भन्दा आफ्ना ती महान् ताई-शान र बर्मेली जराहरूलाई गर्वका साथ स्वीकार गर्नु हजार गुणा श्रेयस्कर छ।
'किरात' शब्द लिम्बूहरूका लागि (पल्लो किरातमा बस्दा) र राईहरूका लागि (माझ किरातमा बस्दा) कुनै गर्व의 प्राचीन विरासत थिएन, यो त शरणार्थी जीवन बिताउँदा वा नयाँ भूगोलमा बस्दाको एक प्रशासनिक तथा बाध्यकारी (Badhyata) नाम मात्र थियो। तर आज, जब उनीहरूले बुझे कि यो पहिचानले उनीहरूको वास्तविक इतिहास खायो र अरूलाई उनीहरूको भूमि तथा इतिहास लुट्ने मौका दियो, उनीहरूले यो ट्रेन्डलाई सधैंको लागि त्याग्दैछन्। राईहरूका लागि यो छाता सहज होला, तर लिम्बूहरूका लागि यो एउटा भूल थियो। आज लिम्बूहरू किरातको नक्कली खोल च्यातेर आफ्नो सक्कली बर्मेली, युनानी र ताई-शान जराको खोजीमा गर्वका साथ फर्कंदैछन्।

And why is the government itself providing the gas... Rather than going through the dealers and vendors....... All the hassle and time wasted of general public...
Some people might even say "The dealers were the problem, the vendors created the crisis"..... What's stopping the government from raiding the vendors depo and punishing them???
