SELTOS NA or DIESEL?

Guys, I am planning to a buy a car under 15L budget.

Can someone please suggest me which is better NA engine or Diesel.

My running would be 500-1000Km mostly 70% highways and 30% city travel.

Considering DPF issues, I am leaning towards NA petrol.

Just wanted to know how good is NA engine. I am a first time car buyer btw.

And pleass suggest me which is better creta diesel or seltos( if your take is diesel)

Thank you.

I'd made a choice- zeroed in on New Seltos GTX (O), made a booking too; and now my brain is trying to find certainty! Looking for inputs from keepers of GTX(O)

Hello proud owners of New Seltos GTX (O) and XLINE O, are you all really happy and content with your pick? Was it THE PERFECT choice?

Does the heads-up-display add any real value? Is it handy? Is it actually a useful amenity or just a luxury indulgence? How about the air Purifier and the Dashcam? Have you felt you could have cut some costs by getting them after-market or are you happy you got them factory-fitted? Do you believe the extra cost of GTX (O) align perfectly with the extra features and their real-world utility? Does your emotional satisfaction greatly outweigh the money spent? Any regrets?

I have a booking for GTX+ (O) 7DCT Petrol. I'm at Delhi and this car would be driven mostly on Highways and fast corridors. No day-to-day city drives. Went for the topmost variant blindly- 'for highway safety'. (For the extra 7 ADAS features, the factory fitted dashcam, and yes the air purifier as well). But now I'm debating if I should step down to GTX+ (A) and then get a dashcam and air-purifier retrofitted The on-road price difference between the two is 1.8 Lakhs here and I'm not sure if I'd ever be using even half of the features.

I'm torn between O and A. (Not considering any other trim or variant). Should I stick with O or do I make a switch to A ? Please tell me if the close to) 2 lakhs extra you spent on GTX(O) was worth it or not!

Do you find the Seltos has enough cargo space?

I've always thought the Seltos does a pretty good job of balancing size and practicality.

For owners, have you found the cargo area to be enough for everyday life? Groceries, road trips, sports gear, strollers... whatever you throw back there.

Anything you wish was different?

Do you find the Seltos has enough cargo space?

Kias with key fob - theft question

Hello,

I know the Hyundai/Kia theft problem was older models with keyed ignitions (at least I believe so). Is there an on going theft issue relating to newer models with key fobs? I have a 2024 Seltos with a key fob and what to take preventative measures. I know about the remote extender thing too, I keep the keys in a faraday box.

2021 Seltos EX Engine Replacement

Getting a new engine under warranty due to the piston oil ring issue.

Vehicle has 105,000km on it. I owe $4,300 at 1% interest. Dealership is offering $14,000 trade in value.

Would you keep the vehicle or would you trade it in?

Seltos htx colour.

Hi everyone! I’m planning to buy my first car, and we’ve finally finalized the Kia Seltos HTX IVT. 🚗

However, I’m still confused about the colour! 😅

Some days I’m completely convinced about Morning Haze, while other days I feel a dark colour would look better.

Since the HTX comes with a light-coloured interior, I’d love to hear from someone who owns an HTX about how the different exterior colours look in real life and how easy they are to maintain.

Would really appreciate some opinions/photos to help me make up my mind! 🙏

Kia Seltos IVT vs DCT

In a big dilemma rn. We just took a test drive of the new seltos 7 DCT Turbo Petrol and the sales rep mentioned that in Mumbai traffic the mileage would be approx 7-8. I have a few concerns now

  1. Our majority use case is within Mumbai city

  2. Is DCT a reliable option ( need reviews from people have who purchased this one)

  3. Should switching to diesel be a smart move ?

Ps: We already have a car which delivers a mileage of approx 9-10 so I’m confused whether sticking to Turbo Petrol is a good idea or going for diesel.

Seltos Diesel AT Owners - Please Help

It’s that time of life after 5 years with my current car, an i20 Sportz 1.2 NA Manual, I’ve finally decided it’s time for an upgrade. I’ve clocked around 62k km on the i20 with a mix of city and highway driving.

It’s been a wonderful car overall, but the one thing I’ve always disliked is the NA engine. Overtaking or climbing inclines often requires frequent downshifts, so I definitely don’t want another NA engine this time.

I really liked the Seltos HTK(O). I test drove the petrol manual and got a very similar feeling to my i20. Then I drove the diesel manual and absolutely loved the way it pulled. I’ll be test driving the diesel automatic next week.

My main concern is my usage.

Currently, I’m in my hometown and the car probably comes out once a month for a proper highway trip. Otherwise, I might drive it once a week for some occasion within town.

I may relocate to Bangalore or Hyderabad next year. Even there, I expect most of my driving to be in the city, with perhaps one monthly highway trip back to my hometown.

I understand that BS6 diesels need the DPF to regenerate properly and that predominantly short city trips can make things more complicated.

I’m mainly looking for experiences from owners who have a similar usage pattern. How has your experience been with DPF regeneration on the Seltos diesel or other BS6 diesels when most of your driving is in the city and highway trips are only occasional?

Is it something that becomes a hassle with low usage, or is it generally manageable?

I’d really appreciate some honest long term owner experiences before I make the decision. Thanks!

2022 Kia Seltos ex Premium

My 2022 Kia Seltos ex Premium is very low km car around 34000 km. Has anyone tried adding an extended warranty using Kia Protect for an additional 5 years-in Ontario? If so, what has your experience been like in terms of cost availability’s ease of getting? I had a quote from Kia Queensway in Toronto but it was over $5k and that works out to be nearly 26% of the value of what they offered to buy the car from me! I need advice thanks

Pluton Blue

I looked at two CPO Seltos (both SX trims) yesterday, and fell in love with the interior and features of a 2025 pluton blue one. It has a black interior, sunroof, heated AND ventilated/cooled seats (I live in Florida and overheat like crazy so the ventilated seats would be nice), low mileage, it felt nice to drive, the price is good, and fits my custom ultralight rigid wheelchair really well in the trunk. However, the pluton blue exterior is getting me. I absolutely don’t hate the color, and I actually thought it was a lot prettier in person than online. But I’m so used to basic, dark colored cars (current car is gray, one before that was dark blue), and I basically always wear black clothes, so the pluton blue feels like it’s very unique and colorful and I’m a bit worried I’ll regret it. I also saw a gravity gray Seltos (different trim) and really liked that color. BUT, I think I’m more worried about finding an SX with the mileage and features this one has in a different exterior color, since there really aren’t many certified SX trims in my area, and honestly this has been the only one I’ve seen so far with sunroof/ventilated seats/all that.

Should I go for the blue or hold out for potentially finding an SX with these features in a different color? If you have pluton blue, have you been really happy with the color? Does anyone have pluton blue and actually regret that color?

ETA: I know I can get it wrapped if I end up hating the color, but that’d probably be kind of a last resort since vinyl wrapping seems pretty dang expensive.

2027 Seltos X-line owners, how are you washing your car?

Just took my new SX for the first trip, two hours highway each way into the mountains (decent fuel economy btw, ended right at 30.3 mpg with pretty conservative driving).

Anyway, lots of bugs and stuff. Wondering if anyone has used an automatic touchless car wash. Obviously I won't use one with all the brushes. But just wondering if anyone has been through a touchless, I'm just concerned with the pano sunroof and all the piano black on the outside.

Wondering if it's worth it to just wash it myself to avoid any issues with the high pressure sprays in an automatic or if I'm just babying it and overthinking.

Cost for denting repair

Hi Guys I recently nicked hood of my new seltos. Too much pain to write this. But the hood is not closing in properly and seems to be misaligned. Theres a dent on left end of the hood. However no damage to lights or body or anything. The latch and hinges are also fine. I dont want to claim insurance and worried about this on my service history. Should I get it fixed at Kia service or at someone I know who can do it at fraction at cost
